I had an incredible time riding my bicycle through Grant Park. Its been such a long time since Ive had an opportunity to do something such as this. Grant Park has evolved into a beautiful setting and I truly appreciate what the city has done with preservation of the land as well as refurbishment of trees that were once meant to be chopped down. Chicago is a beautiful city! Grant Park epitomizes its beauty.
Some of the best panoramic views of The Windy City can be seen from here in Grant Park, including the vast Chicago skyline. This has always been one of my favorite places to unwind, and I find the park and its surroundings to be quite relaxing. Even now, the park is usually pretty clean, free of trash, and relatively well-maintained. The city clearly takes pride in this park, and its efforts towards maintaining daily upkeep of it pretty much prove that fact. So if youre ever in Chicago, this is definitely a must-see tourist attraction.
The enclosures are well kept and clean with imaginative layouts. Some of the aviaries are large and contain multiple species, so that it is possible to spend some time spotting birds amongst the undergrowth and branches.
Awesome city park! Definitely the safest feeling city park Ive been in. My wife and I were looking a little lost and this guy turned around on his bike and came back to see if we needed help. I love IL. I always go back home resolving to be kinder to tourists.
Remember that feeling in the Legend of Zelda when you place a bomb on a wall and find a Its a Secret gold mine? Yeah, this is kind of like that.
It was my first time in Chicago... had a friend show me around so I could do tourist-y stuff and take some pics, enjoyed my visit, thank you Chicago.
Great things happens at Grant Park, you name it. But its an awesome spot for friends and or family to hang and chill. Lots of space and plenty of Sun and shade.
Amongst the few mammals on display are some very endearing species including harvest mice, short-clawed otters and red squirrels. There is also a farm yard area with donkeys, rabbits and the like. Bags of grain with which to hand-feed the goats and sheep are free at the entrance.
I went to the Grant Park twice during the day and at night.I liked both times because it was simply amazing to see how many people gather around these gorgeous place and how clean it was. This is a must go place when you visit Chicago. You have many benches where you can sit and relax and because we went during the winter they were also had an ice skating rink where people can rent the ice-skating shoes and play there too. .
--As always, a great experience. Astounding place for the family, to jog, photography, sit and enjoy an evening. Always come back to see just chill everytime I come to visit.
This is an amazing park, its in the heart of downtown adjacent to millennium Park, the museum which has a great view to the city, and the marina to the back end. It gives you something to do while visiting one of the most beautiful city in the world. Must see, must do in Chi-town.
Good always can see a lot here depends on where you start. I usually stop between Columbus and Balbo and we can walk to/towards Randolph. And not necessarily at Taste of Chicago time. This stretch of Grant Park is colorful, if you walk from Columbus toward Michigan you get the best vantage point of Black Michigan Avenue (BlackStone Hotel and The Congress Hotel) Johnson and Johnson (Ebony and Jet Magazine) can be seen from here. Chicago is great on a whole for the Skyline but knowing where to stand to get photos ua PRICELESS!!!!
A very nice park. It was great for those who are jogging and walking in the place.
One of Chicagos Great Lakefront parks. Buckingham Fountain looks good during the day but is exquisite at night. Fountain shows are on the Hour (sometimes a little late) music plays with the water show. During the day you can find a glass of wine or a coke, burger and other snacks near the fountain. Public restrooms are located there. You can buy a souvenir from Jessie at her bike gift shop or catch a rickshaw if you are too tired from walking the park.
Grant park is amazing! I’m from NY and I think Grant Park has the best conditions for a music festival, afternoon walk, biking or running. It’s my favorite park in the country. In the center of Chicago, you can’t beat it. If I lived in Chicago I would want to live near this beautiful park with incredible views of the city!
Great place to Jog, walk and just about anything else. One of the best parks in chicago.
Incredible view of the Lake Michigan and the city skyline. Just minutes away from the Bean. Good place to hang around and chill. There’s a trail connecting the city and aquarium/planetarium, walk or bike with amazing views.
Beautiful park in the middle of downtown. Large park, with amenities ranging from touristy (Buckingham fountain and the lakeshore), to local focused (basketball, baseball and skate areas). Also numerous statues and historical areas and finally adjacent to millennium park and the museum campus.
Such a beautiful place to visit and relax during the day. As a tourist I really enjoyed our time there. There was a music festival happening in the park free for public we got to dance in the open space... great experience
Stores all over Good Location
Dudes and Dudettes, i love this place. Its a good place for a nap and too watch the sunrise.
Grant Park was an awesome host for pokemon go fest. Lots of room to set up everything. All the staff were really helpful, the location is great, and it has some beautiful scenery. You can see some of the city buildings and the water. Theres a nice big fountain too. I really enjoyed it.
Beautiful! I loved the changing lights. And just the beauty of the city at night is gorgeous. You learn to have more appreciation for these kinds of things when you live in the boonies... in a rural area.
The houses were beautiful but we went during a bad time. They are currently rebuilding the park. So if youre thinking about going make sure you check if the park is still getting rebuilt cause it ruins everything.
Nice park! There werent many people out at all, and the Buckingham Fountain wasnt running.
I had a weird experience here I am broke down after hitting a bump on Lakeshore Drive. The city of Chicago quickly responded by sending a tow truck to tow me at no charge to a service station where my car was fixed immediately. So I give it five stars for that.
I love this park!! Such a nice place to catch a show, take great photos, relax or exercise. I took a long bike ride around the other day and it was really enjoyable.
Went here for the 2nd time in 3 years for the pokemon go yearly festival. It is a nice park with lots of walking area, a huge fountain and lots of friendly people in the city and from everywhere walking around. I liked the time I spent there.
Good for a walk to take in some fresh air or for a great run. Slopes and stairs throughout to get your cardio in. Also great for those looking for a backdrop for photography. I saw so many in graduation gowns, dresses and suits.
Great place to go with children and pets. The fountain is beautiful and nice to walk past to cool off on a hot day. My only complain is that in some areas it smells a bit like sewage, but it wasnt too bad and for the most part it is a nice place to visit.
A massive and beautiful park area in the heart of the Chicago Loop. A good place to park is the Grant Park North Garage, which you enter at 25 Michigan Avenue. Grant Park lies in between Michigan Avenue and Lake Shore Drive/Lake Michigan. The area is huge, and there’s plenty to explore within the park and in the surrounding downtown area. The park is also home to many Chicago festivals, including Lollapalooza. If you’re in Chicago, Grant Park is a must-visit.
If you want a good view of the beautiful buildings Visit Grant Park.
What beautiful park. We were here for a show and decided today to walk through the park. I cant get over how big this park is and all the museums they have here too. It was truly pleasant surprise for us we had no idea. The trail was great for walkers, bikers, moms and anyone who needed to take lots of breaks.
Beautiful today, enjoying the nice weather before it get cold
Chicago is just a great beautiful city with a lot of history Grant Park is beautiful
The gardens were lovely. Fountain was not on, but all else was perfect.
Just a great place to clear your head. I usually go during evening hours when there is less people
Its a great walk path in downtown Chicago. With the trees and colorful flowers around, feels like a peaceful heaven. Ill share some photos rather than trying to portraying the nature.
Great for concerts, big lawn, but because of reserved seating, stage is far away. Good video screen, sound. handicap access. Nice view of skyline. Need to bring blanket or chair, sunscreen a must.
Great place to do just about anything your heart desires.
Beautiful place to visit during your stay in Chicago. It is really big so be prepared to walk a lot. If youre visiting in the summer, make sure to use sun screener and bring your water with you. Restaurants near the place are amazing! The best thing about it is the view of all the buildings.
The best park in Chicago!
Well spaced, beautifully lain out, amazing art and gardens.
I loved the accessibility of this park! I walked a few blocks from the Red Line and was right in the park! A little further and I wouldve been by the Natural History Museum or the Planetarium and Shedds Aquarium. Grant Park is more people friendly now that so many sculptures and people rides (skates, etc) are available.
Loved every bits of my stay at this park. So peaceful and relaxing :)
Its great view of Fountain, City and lake along with Navy Pier and Shed aquarium.
Riding my bike on the bike path and at the beginning of grant park at roosevelt road. Stopped to look at the tress and flowers. Nice bike path
It is a beautiful park. lovely place for a walk or a run. great to bring friends or tourists. kids will enjoy coming as well. its just splendid in the fall.
We love visiting filming locations. This park has the fountain that was featured in the opening credits of Married with Children. At this time of the year, the fountain was empty, but it was still beautiful to see. The architecture and scenery around it was great. It was a perfect place for photos - make sure to utilize the panorama mode on tour cameras!
Lovely park and nice atmosphere both on and near the lake.
Im a small town girl visiting a big city. This is the perfect place to get a feel of what the city life is about. The view is jaw dropping. The atmosphere is on point. I felt safe and welcomed. I couldnt have picked a better spot to take some amazing pictures to take home to my kiddos. If I was tethering on the idea of making a move here this place would most likely seal the deal. So busy yet so relaxing. I will return before we head home just to see it in the daylight
The fountain was off when I was there. Im guessing it was bc of covid19. There are public bathrooms in the park, which is free and has toilet paper
For a tourist as myself i love coming to grant park! Everything is within walking distance! You have the cloud gate pretty much connected to the park, the fountain and the big lake! Definitely a place i visit every time im in Chicago.
Great park. It has a beautiful atmosphere.
Three words, 2008 Obama Election. Iconic. (Mic drop...)
Such a gorgeous and massive park in a prime location in downtown Chicago and right along Lake Michigan. (There is a somewhat busy road between the park and the lake but there are cross walk so still pretty great). Beautiful landscaping such as the rose gardens and Buckingham fountain is gigantic! The water shoots up at different levels. When its at its highest it will gently mist passerbyers. (Very refreshing on warm days). There is even a restaurant in the middle of the park. Although if you are willing to walk a block or two away from the park youll find basically any type of food you want and multiple coffee shops to keep you going. I was at Grant Park for GoFest 2019 (A Pokemon Go festival). I spent 10 hours at the park and could have stayed longer as to stress how big this park really is. If in the Chicago area I highly recommend checking out!
Although the park is beautiful; there wasnt enough cooling stations or shaded areas for the eldery, children, or disabled. No charging stations for scooters or other support tools. Surprisingly, a bit of a food desert! Not enough fresh fruits or vegan options for taste of Chicago....Conversely, the Chicago people were warm and welcoming. So polite and thoughtful. Welcome to Chicago!!!
Amazing place in Chicago for sight seeing. There are many attractions around the area including this park. It is worth the time to just stroll around aimlessly.
Grant Park is located on Lake Michigan with beautiful scenery and many famous sculptures. It is one of the favorite parks in Chicago. The park has the worlds largest illuminated fountain, Buckingham Fountain. The central spring pond covers an area of 600 square feet. The spring water sprays into the sky about 20 minutes, and the water column is as high as 15 meters. Very magnificent. Large concerts are often held in the park every summer.
Beautiful place to eat enjoy the Chicago skyline and see the iconic Buckingham Fountain this park is beautiful its a must-see and if you do make it there definitely make sure you see Millennial part also
I love it thanks to the bears an NFL 100 for making the game an festivities alsome
What an amazing place. This park so well laid out. It’s a must if you visit.
The Grant park in less than 500 meters from the Clarence Buckingham Memorial Fountain - which is heavily planted with trees and blooming flowers. The pathways have a special charisma and have been designed in such a way that they bring out the photographer in you to capture the beauty. You will see plentiful of squirrel running around.GO ahead and have a lovely walk during the evening here.Cheers to life!!~Journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step! :)
I went to see Robert Plant here. Sat near the stage on the left. The sound is amazing. The structure definitely amplifies the music. Even from further back the sound system was great. Good placement of beer vendors. Easily accessible and large bathrooms. Minimal wait to get in and get drinks well organized.
This is a beautiful park. There is a nice walkway along the waterway and through some park areas. This also goes past the Buckingham fountain area. Simply a nice area with several areas to relax. Its also gorgeous at sunset and sunrise
OMG,,, I love it,,,,, its so clean and relaxing, landscaping is on point,a lot of trees and grass, flowers, squirrels, security, the water, and boats,,,, you know what I wish,,,, I lived down there.but anyway thanks for asking my opinion.bye now
Pokemon GoFest 2019, had to evacuate for a short time due to weather, but the park is beautiful!
Awesome experience. Walk the whole thing! Great stuff to see everywhere
A really nice park to stroll thru and take in the skyline the city has to offer.
Ill always Love this place
Beautiful green-space with the best view of the city.
Tango Guerillas every Wednesday night
Came up for Go fest. Park is HUGE, the scenery is unbelievable, and the Chicago skyline is UNMATCHED, and that fountain is there to be photographed
Beautiful park right on the waters edge. From here I was able to book an evening cruise on Lake Michigan.
Took nice pictures here. People out playing ball, listening to music. This park reminds me of Fairmount Park in Philadelphia.
This park is so beautiful, green, peaceful, and has lovely views of Lake Michigan! Great spot for picnics.
From Lollapalooza, Pokemon Fest, or weekend events, we love hanging out here.
Clean park good for dogs. Paid parking.
Home town CHI, I use to go here when I was a wee-ling. And I took my son here when I was home to visit my Great Aunt. Bucket List Must and the Chicago Lake Front as well
I love the views of being on Lake Michigan and the skyline the fountain is beautiful
Our first trip to Chicago, only got to explore Hyde Park it was cold so the fountain was on, but I would imagine it would be a tremendous sight, a rocks throw from Lake Michigan. Iconic statues, incredible sights of the skyscrapers. Parking was only $6 for hour and a half. Once you see the $20 parking signs keep driving it gets cheaper!
Beautiful park, amazing space, clean, space for kids to play and enjoy a beautiful summer day
Always a great time. I went when none of the vendors or anything were open, but during the summer you can get some grub and refreshing drinks outdoors as well. The fountain is always gorgeous, and its appreciated to see how clean they keep the area. Great place to spend a little time outdoors.
The Seated Lincoln Monument, by Augutus Saint-Gaudens, a great American sculptor who also sculpted the great Standing Lincoln also known as, Lincoln The Man, located in Lincoln Park, at the southernmost end, just north of North Avenue and east of LaSalle Street.
cool
Park features a nice walk along the waterfront of Lake Michigan, past the aquarium and up to the Planetarium. The park is lively in the summer and very quiet in the winter. Very clean and would be a nice place to bring your family for a scenic walk.
Always a great place to enjoy when visiting Chicago. The park is open and spacious. The people watching is phenomenal. I always feel safe when I visit
Beautiful place for sight seeing and just hanging out
Same with my dog and friend. Was a great place to visit and checkout the beautiful fountain
Grant Park is one of the most beautiful parks in the US. Lots of activities and fun for people of all ages. The Aquarium, Water Taxi, water sports, Planetarium, Museums and Fountains all combine too make it amazing.
Huge park, beautiful well-maintained and lots of places to visit.
Less crowded than it looks in the parking lot
Came here for 2019 Pokemon go fest and had a blast! This is a huge beautiful park with lots to see. Had a great time.
Was a bit muddy and destroyed from Pokemon GO! Fest 2019 and a few days of solid rain. They should have put portable walkways around the equipment and other impediment areas that blocked the cement walkways to save the grass and let visitors avoid walking in the mud.
