This place was really cool and super affordable. It’s easy to get to as well and it is located in a very nice area. Even though we went on Valentine’s Day weekend it wasn’t as packed as I thought it would be. The best time to go here if you want to get quality pictures is on a weekday during the middle of the day when everyone is working. The one exhibit only allows a minute in the room which to me is just ridiculous. I think you should get more time for that room since it is the most iconic part of the place. You can only move forwards too and with a lot of people it is hard to get to experience everything fully. I will definitely revisit this place again though. Also they have free lockers to put your stuff in and tripods for your camera are not allowed.
Amazing interactive museum. Exhibits are interesting, and the narrative experience is a good twist on normal museum visits. Highly recommend going and seeing the interactive dance floor and infinity room.
If you want a place for great photos this is it. I took my niece and nephews: aged 4-24 and there was something for everyone. It’s supposed to be “pop-up” but it keeps extending its closing. But I suggest you get there before it’s gone! Some exhibits have changed since my first visit shortly after it opened.
Sooo many good photo ops. Take your time and get your shot. The infinity room was so cool! Be ready right as you go in because you only get 1 minute in there! They also had people writing poems on the spot which was super neat. You just gave them a word and then they type up a short poem right in from of you. They have restrooms and lockers.
I feel like there are categories to this. the experience, the atmosphere, and then overall amount of fun. I enjoyed the experience. I have also been to the Color Factory in NYC and that one was better. This one is a step down in the experience category. The atmosphere is very carefree. If you go with the right person, you feel like youve gone to another world. Its very immersive. Overall fun, look I hadnt had that much fun in a good long while. It was nice to get a break from life and slide own a slide or play with my image on a big screen or dance on a floor that lights up as you step around.I highly recommend it; for adults, for kids, for adults and kids even small children.
What an experience this was! I was left speechless. From the beginning to the very end it’s absolutely mind blowing. We went the last week of the theme they had going. It’s extremely throughout and really detailed. The employees were very knowledgeable about each exhibit. We will definitely be back for the next themed exhibition.
Really cool and great for cool photo ops and just playing around. Definitely kid friendly and adult Friendly too. It doesnt take too long to go through, we took maybe an hour -hour and a half. The neighborhood felt safe and they have a free locker for your personal items. Im glad I was there for their first installation but Im excited to go back when they have their next one (tangible vs intangible I think?). Part of the fun of going is not knowing everything youre going to encounter. Just trust that its very cool and pay attention to detail while youre there.
This seems like a museum built for Instagram and social media in general. It’s a very interesting concept in its own right and I think they executed it pretty well. I would recommend it, but only if you were interested in taking a bunch of weird pictures with your group. If that’s not the kind of thing you’re into, I think you’re better off elsewhere. You’ll go through it all too quickly and will have spent way too much on an experience. But if you can enjoy living inside a visually compelling moment and photograph, I highly recommend.
I would love to post more pictures but I wouldnt want to ruin the fresh experience for anyone! Would definitely recommend for a date or just a night out. Nothing completely mind-blowing, but it definitely holds a plethora of nice picture opportunities with sections that just make you smile and laugh. Definitely give this place a try and you WILL leave in a good mood. Wish they had more merchandise though. Almost bought a girls crop top instead of a mens top because it was the beter looking shirt of the two
The experience was amazing! I went with a few of my friends and we were never bored, we even went through the whole museum twice. The thing about this place is that everyone dressed up as its a perfect environment for taking Instagram-worthy photos. If I went again, I would dress up a bit more so that my pictures were better...
Love love loved thos museum experience with my oldest son. Very much our style and we loved all the color and exhibits. Took about an hour to go through the entire place which was right up our preferred alley.
Super cute. Please go if you have the chance ! Im gonna hook you up with a Code. *(WNDRSG)* all caps
It was entertaining for a short afternoon. There were some cute pictures of optical illusions. The candy was good. The last stop was the most exciting one. Im not sure Id go there again though.
I want to give this place more stars but as a paying customer, I walked away feeling misled. First, it costs $38 per person to get in. We were three visitors for a total of $114. This is one of the most expensive museums we have ever entered and we have had the privilege to visit many museums in different parts of the world. As a customer I would have liked clear information including that it’s a once through museum which means you walk in one direction only, can not return to previous rooms, and since people are waiting behind you, you don’t have a lot of time to enjoy the museum and the experience. In a matter of about 20 minutes, we found ourselves at the end even though we were originally told by the cashier that people spend about an hour going through. Anyhow, once we realized the experience was over in 20 minutes, we thought maybe we missed a few rooms and decided to go through again and THAT IS WHEN WE WERE TOLD we can only go through once. After reading other reviews I noticed some people went through twice so there’s that. Even though no one was waiting to go in, we were turned away. Someone went to ask if we could go through again but after feeling like we were asking too much, we just accepted that we overspent on a museum we had such high hopes for. Then a young man came and said we could go through but my teens had already lost their desire. It’s a cool tiny space but definitely way way way overpriced and misleading.
An amazing interactive experience. Worth waiting in line and worth the time. Great cool stuff to see. Check their mirrored room. Awesome.
The staff made this place amazing. From being greeted at the front with smiling faces. All the way to the end as we pick up our poems that was written for us. There were so many things to see and interesting facts. Make sure you have a camera, because there are a lot of photo ops. This was one of the coolest museum I been to.
I brought my cousin here as a gift and it was an amazing and fun experience and Im so glad I got to experience with her. Each room has its own vibe going and is all fascinating interesting learning experience. I only wish I had talked to the staff more.
Great place my favorite was the laser floor and Margie Criners art!!! Get more Margie!
I loved this experience!! Provocative and fun! It really is a wndr!! Child and adult friendly alike! An amazing adventure for the day!You can let your creativity flow and take lots of artistic photos, great to bring a friend or someone to help take pictures with! All of the staff is friendly and very informative and interactive with and about the art.Highly recommend!!
Not a place for someone like me who dont take good pictures... or was not dressed and ready for a photo shoot..LOL it was kind of depressing to see everyone able to take pics and I just watch and wish I was beautiful... BUT It was a great experience... the exhibits were amazing... definitely going back when I am feeling pretty... I should have taken more pics.. but definitely worth going back... and I am
My first time going to a pop up museum was when I went to the Happy Place. I compared a little bit because I really liked how interactive the happy place was. This place is great for pictures and has awesome quotes all over the place. However, it was not as interactive as I was hoping it to be. It is still really great though. They have poets that write you a poem while you visit the museum. The bathroom had a fun disc ball and plays music. Go have fun!
My family and I really wanted to love wndr museum, BUT we all thought it was way to busy (packed) and considering they are assigning ticket times we expected it to be emptier (limited entries). We would have enjoyed the great exhibits much more had we not felt quite so harassed and rushed. With a short family experience like this costing almost $200 ($191 for 5 of us) we would have loved had we been able to truly enjoy all exhibits at our own paste and leisure. Turns out the 1st mission of wndr is $$$.
Little pricey, but an incredibly fun experience. Was able to go when it wasnt busy, and that was surely for the best! Lots of photo ops. Cool all around.
A hidden gem in Chicago. This place is wndrful as the name suggests. If you are Instagrammer then you will definitely love this place and also out of the box place for first date. Tickets are expensive but totally worth it! Staff is really friendly and do help you take pictures.
It was cool. We got some nice photos, and played around a bit. I think this experience would be phenomenal with some additional sensory enhancement.
I was pretty stoked to check this place out after hearing all the buzz about the infinity mirror room.To be honest, this place can be the perfect setting for your Instagram feed. In fact, there were a few people who hired a professional photographer to take their photos for the gram lol.If youre not so active on the gram like myself, its still an interesting place to visit. Very different take on a museum. I was really excited to finally check out the infinity mirror room that apparently took decades to create. It was .... Meh and very over hyped.I wouldnt go again or really recommend this place.
First time coming here and I wasn’t disappointed. My wife and I had an amazing time . Something different but very interesting if you have an open mind about trying new things. Can’t wait for next seasons theme.
A few really really outstanding installations, the rest are interesting but not essential. The mirror room is awesome but 60 seconds is not enough time.
Such a fun experience! I would definitely recommend...the museum changes about every 6 months. This interactive museum is great for all ages.
This place was pretty cool. You really have to appreciate art to love this place, it won’t be for everyone. I felt it was more geared towards the high school age group. Most people take photos of themselves or by themself here to put on Instagram. It’s a cool concept and there were some cool rooms there. It just won’t be everyone’s style
Great interactive museum. Best time to go is during the day mid week. So much fun with my friends. Awesome picture opportunities.
What a wonderful, thought provoking and inspiring museum. Love the exhibits and interaction, cant wait until the next visit
This museum isnt for everyone. Its pretty neat, but it feels like its designed for people who like posting pictures on social media. Many of the exhibits were cool, but felt like theyd be better appreciated if you were viewing them alone or with a predetermined group, rather than as a large boarding group who all got to go around the same time. I can definitely see why some people love this place, but for the same price I would have preferred something like the Chicago Field Museum.
Felt like an instragram posing place. Not like a place to experience. I have been to an interactive art museum, before (In Japan) So, I was expecting to be immersed. Traveled about 3 hours, got a hotel for this attraction. Wish I would have stayed home instead, truly a tourist trap.
Amazing museum! I had a blast. Thank you for my friend bringing me here. I thought it was gonna be a small place but this place has fascinating art work and I got to take many photos! I would love to come back again!
Have to say, these kinds of artistic museums always amaze me, especially the infinty room! The guides are also hilarious and extemely informative. Would recommend going during the day in the middle of the week to not have to worry about crowds and to be able to take your time!!Oh, also make sure to read all the signs! Some of them are extremely hilarious!
Pricy, $38 to get in but there’s are a lot of rooms! At the end we got really tired lol. There’s a lot of cool things to see. They also have lockers that you can use to store your belongings while in the museum with was a big plus!
Pic 1: Angles and perception !Pic 2: Just like how each straw is connected with each other, well our DNA has same characteristics.Pic 3: Keep a color over a color and you get something new and beautiful. The same is for our life :)Pic 4: Lights will guide you home Pic 5: Balls made of glasses and there were awful lot of them and it was magical and positive.Pic 6: That image is just kinetic energy and nothing else !If you want to wonder, visit @wndrmuseum till it lasts. Its worth it!Pic 7: They do have something in store for you :)
Great place to play weather youre a 5 year old or an adult. Full of interactive media and art, its a place for people that have an imagination and love experiencing new things. Fun place for a date or for an artist thats looking for creativity. So much fun!!
Simply amazing and fun for all the family. This museum has a lot of interactive installations and its definitely a MUST if youre in Chicago and want to have a funny experience. I agree the price is a little bit elevated, but if you love art, creativity and want an out-of-the-ordinary experience, its definitely worth it.
It was very interesting but expensive. We paid $114.00 for 3 of us to visit and thought we could explore the exhibits a second time. When we re-entered an exhibit an employee scolded us and said that we were not allowed to view the exhibits twice and we needed to leave. It’s a small museum so for this type of price range for a short visit. I do like the ideas behind this place they are inspiring, but make sure you take your time at each exhibit.
Great time!! Honestly this museum is definitely a brand new experience. The perfect place for a few friends who are basic af and love photo ops! Honestly you can get the prettiest Instagram/Facebook worthy photographs with the BEST backgrounds. Apart from that the art was also beautiful and very interactive. It’s not a very long experience maybe 45min-1hr so plan accordingly. The staff is also very friendly and always willing to take pictures of the group :)
It definitely does not live up to all the hype. For starters, the $32 ticket price per person is totally not worth it. There is no parking near by and street parking is limited. Be prepared to walk a few blocks . A couple of the exhibits are cool, but for the most part a Childrens museum or a Science and Tech museum holds more interest than this place. However, if you are the kind who loves selfies, Instagram and social media and have a good eye for photography, you are in the right space. You can spend an hour easily but when you walk out there is no real feeling of wndr. I would take my money and spend it on any one of the real museums in Chicago.
Fun and interactive art wonderland. Some works in progress visible throughout. A truly unique and wonderful experience.
We took the train from out of state to see this museum. It was one of a kind; Super artsy and creative, I really enjoyed it. It lasts about an hour or so but was worth it as a fun afternoon activity. I loved how throughout the exhibits it really promoted individuality and self-love.
Loved it had difficulty finding it. Looks just like a warehouse nothing special. Snap it takes some time.
This place is so much fun for every age. My sister and I had a blast in here. Its definitely worth the $35.
Very cool, interactive museum. Highly recommended. Kids would have a blast, but lots of fun for adults too.
It is pricey and it can get busy or a little crowded so you might need to wear your patient pants. But if you walk in with an open mind, some curiosity and a willingness to be playful; it is also an experience.Youll enjoy if you love art or like large, interactive art installations. And dont blink because its full of colorful, quirky and sometimes slightly hidden pieces. Not to mention (despite this particular piece being pretty starkly lit) experiencing a Kusma room is a modern day marvel.
The WNDR Museum was an awesome experience! I highly recommend it.
I have mixed feelings about this place. Biggest reason is the price. It’s $36 per person. Beside its price, it’s totally for instagrammers. If you are a person with no photography interest, you can finish the all museum in 20min. Some staff was trying to tell the story behind the exhibition. But they seemed very uninterested, they also don’t believe what they tell us. And you only have 1 min to see the most important section of the museum, infinity room - room with mirror balls- . They say it’s even 15-20 sec during weekends. They warn us as ‘better to have a photogenic face for 1 min’ . This was a big disappointment. And all balls were with finger prints...
Super friendly staff and I love that everyone has fun interacting and taking photos! Beautiful exhibits.
This is a wonderful place to bring the family! The art is amazing. Ive been to both chapters of the exhibit!
This is a fun space to spend a few hours. It’s experiential so you definitely should go with a friend. That said I certainly don’t think it’s worth the price of admission. It’s more of a $20 experience rather than $35. It’s something fun to do on a rainy day and you can easily walk to Randolph Street and grab a bite so you can make a day of it. if you’re going somewhere afterwards bring hand sanitizer!!
Worth every penny. The atmosphere was great. Chill vibe up to date music
We drove down from WI to visit this installment. And while it was kind of neat, it seemed poorly run and all around busted. Things were not working, and they didnt adhere to your time slot, so everyone just kind of got in and milled around. If I was in the area, I would maybe recommend to others, but it really was not worth the drive in my group of 3s opinion. Plus for the ticket cost, everything should be working and clean.
Amazing experience!! There is a great amount of different art to see! It is so fun and unique!!
Really awesome and interactive place to be. Unique exhibits that give a unique perspective on art!
What a magical place the Wndr museum is. Im a big fan of places known for their Instagramability (I am aware that isnt a word), but this place took the cake. From the entrance to the exit, all exhibits, staff, and time spent in the museum is magnificent. Go there on a date or with a group of friends, take you best friend, neighbor, or mom; I dont think anyone could leave there unhappy. Its truly wndrful and I wish I could shake the hand of all people involved in creating this Chicago Hot Spot! Go ASAP
I liked it! Didn’t enjoy how you can only be in the main room for only a minute. It was a bit pricey for what you get. Was a bit confused on the background of the museum. Started off in a room learning about science and then nothing after. You do your own thing through the museum and you definitely take a lot of pictures. Definitely cool to experience but wouldn’t go again. I love the fact that you had to book a time, so it wasn’t over crowded.
It was cool. Worth the price? Meh. It’s great if you love quirky decor, fun installations, and selfies. Not much for education or real art, but hey, you can get free gummy bears from a wall. Definitely try to go at off hours so you can enjoy the space.
Ive been here twice, and was skeptical to go a second time because, been there done that, but it did NOT disappoint and was so great. There were even lots of little kids there the second time, and while I think an artsy/science-y kiddo would appreciate it more than others, they all seemed to be enjoying themselves. There always seem to be lots of Instagrammers taking lots of selfies, so if thats not your thing, I could see that getting in the way of the experience, but we didnt mind it, and theres so many other things going on, that its easy to look past.Tickets are a bit pricey at $35, and we got a parking spot for $6 on Spot Hero (street parking is VERY limited), so Id say its a fun night out!Oh! And! They have free lockers for all of your belongings (that you can lock with your own personal passcode), so you dont have to worry about carrying things around, and theres a small gift shop with a couple of snacks and beverages for purchase at the end.
Its okay. For $35 each it was only 30 minutes and the guides didnt really do much except stand there once you got past the front entryway. I wanted someone to explain the art a little more and the docent in the prism room and infinity room are the only two who talked to us.Its almost too crowded too. I know it depends on peoples pace but some exhibits Id you want to take photos are too packed to do so.The best part was the entryway I think :)Nice work and no hard feelings. Would recommend just wanted a lengthier entertainment.
A fun and inspiring space to explore. It is a bit expensive, so take your time and enjoy all of the interactive exhibits.
Do not go to this place, super unprofessional. They took payment and denied my daughters birthday party attendees entry after realizing they booked a probate party at the same time. Still waiting on a refund with no answers
Very cool place. This is a PICTURE MUSUEM, meaning its made for you to take pictures and video in it. Its part of the effects. You will have fun here. There are a few areas that are cooler than others.I consider that $35 per person is a bit expensive thou. So if you plan taking your family with you it will get expensive real fast.
My wife and I were looking for something to pass the time while visiting Chicago and she happened to find this place while looking through google maps for museums. My advice is to move slowly through the rooms and take some time to look at what others are observing. There are little details all over the place that could be easily missed so I found it helpful to take in the reactions of other visitors around me.
This is one of the coolest places i’ve ever been to. so many sights and sounds to be wowed by- there’s even an exhibit by yayoi kusama that invites you to take a chill pill and just contemplate in a space of silence and silver polka-dots. even if you’re an old, pessimistic, hopeless man, you’re still gonna love it. if you don’t like it, then there’s probably trash can you can hang out with in an alley somewhere.
So much fun, worth going at least once ! Definitely plan to go again.
One of the best pop-up art installations Ive ever been to! Very appropriate even for toddlers, but especially for elementary school-age kids. Obviously also very cool for adults too. I like the integration of real science into the art. And I must say the art is amazing
It was a linear experience. Which is a good way of saying the entire thing is standing in line.We went to video game night. Super disappointed. It was a handful of machines and no chance they would ever be free. Also the the wrist bands are plastic. Minus another star for not being green.
If you are an artist and feel alone in the world, this is the place for you! If you dont think you are creative, this is the place for you! Opportunities to use all the senses and reflect on your experiences. I visited during the heros journey chapter. Highly recommend.
Amazing place to learn and play. This is intended for old kids and young adults
Such a fun museum!! Definitely worth the price, and very Instagrammable if that’s your thing. We thoroughly enjoyed the interactive nature and are excited for chapter 2!
It was okay. Fun, probably cool for kids. It felt like a lot of standing around waiting for your turn to take a picture. The pictures did come out good though.
Absolutely amazing atmosphere! Cool vibes, friendly staff. Very clean environment. Most of the tour is at ur own pace. Every room is extremely photogenic. Portrait photographers dream!
Fun little museum (for lack of a better term). A lot more exposure and creativity than science or actual learning. I see why they call it an instagrammers Paradise; loads of unusual and vibrantly colored art installations. more interesting to kids than adults
Exhibits are well done and interactive. Great place to spend an afternoon.
Very cool. Perfect for insta pics. Great for kids too (as long as they are gentle with the installations)
We had heard so much about this museum that I decided to incorporate it into our school Christmas in Chicago event. I brought 50 students but the price was prohibitive, so only 12 students signed up. The price I was given on the phone, I passed on to the students. It did not however include the astronomical Ill/Chicago taxes which added almost 20% to the cost of the ticket which was absorbed by me, as the price was already a bit more than rural students can afford. The museum was nice, not as many exhibits as one would expect paying over $40 to visit. The students were disappointed with the museum and have voted not to include it this coming Christmas due to the cost. CKorwin, Dakota High School, Dakota, Illinois
Really fun museum to visit. Perfectly tailored for today’s culture
It was something Ive never did thats why I enjoyed it but I think $38 was very pricey for what we experienced. Also to many people! Everyone just stands in front of exhibits taking pics you dont really get to enjoy the art I thought there would be alot more than what it was the actual walkthrough was 20min tops. And 10min was waiting for one little area. I think to go when not that many people there you might be able to have a greater experience and also the people were dressed like they were going to a club lol Im like this is a art museum not a club I think mostly people just wanted pics not appreciating the art part!
Tons of cool photo opportunities and a unique experience. The time slots make perfect sense otherwise the museum gets backed up and its hard to enjoy it.
If it wasnt for the size of the exhibits my experience would had been better. The installations are all separated from one another with curtains and makeshift walls in the warehouse. For the price, $38 after taxes/fees it was not worth it. If not an instagrammer, you finish the exhibition in 20 minutes. If you are an Instagrammer, you have to rush to get the perfect picture and hope no one else gets in your shot since again, the area is small. You go through the museum and wait in a line before entering each room since you dont want to intervene on another groups photo.Extra star to their employees who were extremely nice and energetic. All other museums in Chicago are about $25 and they are MASSIVE. You will get better photo ops at the Art museum than you will here.
It was a really nice experience. But I can not stress this enough. Take your time!! Its pretty pricey for what you get. But its really cool. So enjoy your time there. Do NOT rush through it. Couple tips. 1. Dress nice. Especially if you want some instagram worthy pics. 2. Take an actual camera. Camera phones dont capture it as nice.
The Wndr museum is such a nice place to visit. Great place for pictures and just getting to try new things. The staff is nice and very helpful. I dont want to go into too much detail but I would suggest to just try it
Super fun. Interactive. I would definitely go again if there are other exhibits soon.
One of the best interactive experiences Ive ever had.
Surely it was one of the greatest place I have been to.Very artistic and unique things in there. It was a fun place to be,Definitely recommend, tickets are required for this place.Street parking is available within two blocks.
It was not crowded at all around 5:30 on Wednesday so we had plenty of time in each exhibit. This was a great way to spend some time in the city, get great photos, and have some fun. It’s really hard to describe this experience to someone who wasn’t there but do yourself a favor, bring a friend and enjoy!
Really dope thing to do in the city to pass time. Got some great pictures and it was a very nice experience. Would really recommend for those who enjoy taking pictures and appreciates the art and creativity of things. Will visit again.
I enjoyed this museum. The major problem with it was the price. It was $36 per person, and we were done with the majority of the tour in 20 minutes. It would definitely be worth it if it was longer.
It was alright, but not for the price of $38/ticket. If you like “modern art” or first time visiting Chicago then you should visit this place. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Very visual. Really nice staff. Lots of interactive displays. We were in their for 1.5 hours and it felt fast. $32 per ticket but very cool experience. I was impressed with the cups that allowed you to hear in the wires and the red button in the bathroom by the wonder photography.
It is not your typical museum, but definitely a great experience, something for adults and kids to see.
Had a fun time at wndr museum, worth every penny spend 1.5 hrs here such a magical experience and instagram worthy museum
One of the most fun and interactive spots Ive been too. An hour passed by while enjoying the fun stuff they have set for us there. Worth it completely!
Excellent museum! Super fun and worth it, its so different
