Beautiful place!! If you come to Charleston, SC, you must visit The Battery!! The houses on the water are breathtaking! The oak trees are massive and adds so much beauty to the area! We loved learning about the history of the area and the buildings! Plenty of places to walk in the park and along the water. This area is big enough to bring your pets to play too. I love this area and could sit in the park all day!!

The battery is a park and sea wall on the historic southern tip of Charleston. Surrounded by some grand old homes it seems to have a constant breeze which is pleasant in the summer heat. Rich with cannons and monuments and a awesome view of the harbor. Visited it twice. During the day and a moonlit stroll at night.

Went there to watch the Halloween full blue moon rise over the Charleston Harbour. I wasnt disappointed. I beautiful fall evening. A brilliant sun set in the west over the Ashley River. Shortly after, the moon rose in the east over Sullivans Island & the Harbour. Sail boats cruised with passenger enjoying these scenes. Many others walked the battery taking photos of this wonderful site.

Really great little park. Im glad I trusted reviews and walked the 20 minutes to get to it. Totally worth it. Had some really well-placed benches and felt very safe. Not crowded at all, maybe 50 or so people in the whole park when I went at around 4pm on a Wednesday. An Uber driver told us it is fantastic at sunset around 7 to 7:30. Im considering going back just for that!

This is a must visit when in Charleston. Great spot for photo ops, picnics, romantic walks, coffee, or just getting some fresh air. Theres plenty of room to maintain social distancing and its away from the crowds of the market and shops on king street. Visited on an overcast, rainy day during the holidays in 2006. As a born and raised US Southerner from even farther south, It felt right to be here on such a day to see where the War of Northern Aggression (always the way my late grandmother referred to it) officially began, doomed from the start. Im very much an American and a lover of all our history, good and bad, successful and doomed, beautiful and ugly.

No trip to Charlest on is complete without a visit there.White Point Garden with lovely old oaks and park benches.Great view of Charleston Harbor and Fort Sumter.Tip...if you take a carriage ride the guides no longer have to pass a text for accurate history...so check out things for yourself on line. This morning I happen to hear some woefully inaccurate info being given regarding the historic gazebo in the park.
