Philadelphia Alley in Charleston is one of my favorite alleyways and secret passages and walkways in the city. I like the hidden nature of the alley that allows you to discover it when walking and that it encourages you to walk the length of it from Queen Street to Cumberland Street or the other way around. The alley provides plenty of shade on a warm day and seems to be cooler with all of the trees around it. I like that there is a historical marker that explains the history and name of the alley. The alley is well maintained and seems to be very clean even with all of the foot traffic and dog walkers that come through. I like that it is easy to take good photos here and that the alley has so many good angles and plenty of stories to tell.
Neat alley, nice and narrow. Not crowded.
