Beautiful place for kids to play. Splash park is awesome. They have shade umbrellas. Nice walk by the river. They only had the mens bathroom unlocked but it was very clean.

I liked the place. Its grown over the years. It has became more popular than in the past, but there is something about the park that wont get my last star.

Stopped here on your way to NC. Fairly clean park that looks like its supposed to be closed, but people have torn all the caution tape off the playground equipment. Restrooms were closed, which was one of the main reasons we stopped here, so that was disappointing. Im not going to knock the place too much though, as I could have done more research to find out if it was supposed to be open.

Nice new equipment, but not enough, gets kinda crowded and groups frequently leave their personal items on equipment so others cant use it. Litter and vagrancy problems, occasionally disgusting, especially by bridge and river. Good volleyball courts. Fun public movies in summer. Good walking paths and nice views. Frequent flooding but whatcha gonna do. Generally hit or miss.

Nice outdoor experience for the city of Charleston. However, would be nice to build something here to bring people to the area for tourism. Just a few park benches and a play area for kids have it looking kind of underutilized.

I think its a great little park that a lot of people forget about. its a great place to come and ride a bike if your streets arent safe for bike riding. Theres a sidewalk that wines all over the area and makes several large loops.

Its magical! Perfect place to fish for monster catfish under the bridge, but I wouldnt eat them.

The city of Charleston keeps their community in mind, bringing fun and exciting things for their people to enjoy. Magic Island Park doesnt fall short and definitely doesnt disappoint. It is located beside the Boulevard on the river front giving its visitors accessibility along with an amazing view of the river. Weather you take advantage of Magic Islands free parking or you use the walk and bike path to get there, you wont be disappointed but you will always find a good time. The Park holds several sand volleyball courts, swings and slides, a field with plenty of room to enjoy and the newly added Splash Pad that the whole family can take a part of. There are bathrooms accessible to the public. Come out, bring the family and enjoy your city with your community.

Great, if you want your kids playing where homeless people bathe. I wouldnt even let my dog run through the water.

Great free fun for kids on hot days! Not a great area..I didnt feel very safe & made sure we left before it got dark. Be nice if they had someone patrolling this area!! It was a long walk to the car & kinda scary. Also a man was fighting with his wife, yelling & cursing at her for over an hour!! Because they lost their keys! Another reason someone needs to be here at this park!

Its a fun park that has activities throughout the year

This is our go to place for flying kites! We love flying kites and its the perfect spot because of the wind and open space. We can also take a break and swing in the swings or use the splash pad.

Lots of room for kids to run and play. Park was clean family ready.

Nothing out of the ordinary for a park. Really didnt seem inviting during late afternoon/evening ours with adult groups of people hanging around. Very uneasy and uncomfortable to spend any time there. Not worth getting your hopes up for family fun.

The city of Charleston does a solid job of keeping this park looking good. Events such as movie night during the summer and volleyball tournaments bring people into Charleston. This is a great asset to Charleston.

Really nice park. Maintenance just needs to step it up a notch and allow the public to use the restrooms provided.

Wish the playground had more for little kids, and even a lil more to hold kids attention. Sand is usually a gross thing to play in, and with periodic flooding youd think it would be here but its actually clean. The play equipment they have is in good shape. Im excited for my daughter to get to play in the splashpad too. A posted schedule for the water pad would be awesome though.

Big issue with no bathrooms available for the children to use.. That was frustrating... Other then that.. I thought that magic island is a nice spot to relax.. And the kids.. (5yrs..and 3yrs) loved it.. We will be back

Parking was confusing (located under bridge across street) and then the park itself was not that great. Brown grass, some litter and little-to-no shade. The river was nice to sit next to though.

Free, timed 5k #parkrun EVERY Saturday morning! Run, walk, bring a dog, join for coffee afterward.

Take a place that floods once in awhile, make it a place to play the rest of the time -- you have a winner and right on the river. The people that operate the splash part need to learn how to run such a place and how to enforce its rules but this place has huge potential. It is a nice walk from the band shell to this place and back -- especially when the Boulevard is closed.

Nice place, its currently under construction so it was a little difficult to get to and the place doesnt look as good as Im sure it usually does. But still a very great view of the river and mountains. The small sprinkler park is a nice touch on a hot day!

Great family place to go for walks along the Kanawah river and watch the sunset. They have a splash park and playground for the kids and volleyball net. One of my favorite places

When you are broke when you are bored or even if youre traveling through and need to walk your pet or stretch your legs this is the perfect place it also has a splash pad and every Wednesday or Thursday in June I believe theres family night where they set up a movie theater outside check the local calendar.

The water park is a lot of fun moving night on Wednesday is a blast a place to walk run play and even get wet to cool off

A parking lot is on the north side of Kanawha Blvd. The park is on the south.

Great new splash pad, of course the city thought this would ease the tension of a 2.50 city user fee that each person that works in Charleston must pay, soon to go to 3.00 a week. The other grounds look like a battle zone, no grass just mud.
