I love this place. Their exhibitions are very educational and innovative. They have different people curate at different times and so you really get a variety of exhibitions. Also check out their Awesome library in the back and fill your mind with art! They have tons of art books in every category. Also if you are looking for a place to intern or volunteer I highly recommend this place!

Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art at the College of Charleston is an awesome art venue and gallery that has great displays that run for a limited time. It is always cool to walk through a new display and installation when it is ready and open for the first time. Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art never disappoints as they come through with some art that is worthwhile and challenges you. The Institute is well run and does a good job of bringing art and culture to Charleston.

Such an amazing resource and space for Charleston! I loved the Coulter Fussell and Butch Anthony exhibit, and it was free!

The Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art is the most adventurous art space in Charleston. Any show they have is worth seeing. Make sure to check their website for hours. Be sure to watch the featured short film in the far right corner. Its always free!

Great place to catch Pokemon from the Green Energy Gym, especially on a hot day. Enter the gym, walk to the entrance and go inside the lobby and still be connected. Multi-phone charging station up the ramp.Tip: Theres great art exhibits too!!

Went to the opening day on 8/17 of the new exhibit The Image Hunter: On the Trail of John James Audubon at the Halsey, which is wonderful displays of bird art. This show continues at the college of Charleston Art Institute through September 29, 2018.

Great low key gallery. Changing exhibits frequently explore social and political topics and bring first class contemporary art to Charleston. Entry is free, contributions are accepted but not solicited. Closed Sundays, sadly.

I love the Halsey Institute. Its right across the street from my office, so its great to go by in my lunch break and peruse the current exhibit. The student art outside is also pretty amazing. Its a gorgeous, light venue. Its so nice to have something like this downtown.

This is definitely worth visiting if you like modern art. Its not as large as the Gibbes, but its free and includes student art as well.

I love art, and the Halsey not only showcases well known artists, but also showcases work from CofC students. I used to work right across from it and attend CofC, so it was a wonderful place to go during breaks.
