As a full-time professional photographer in Charleston, I have the privilege of shooting in some amazing old historic locations! I recently had the honor of photographing the annual Lee & Associates team photo for their holiday card on the old historic steps at Cannon Park. The steps and columns are all thats left of the old Charleston Museum. Behind the steps and columns is a nice grassy park, that takes up the whole block. Its conveniently located near MUSC. And in the evenings youll find lots of locals out walking and playing with their dogs here.

Cannon Park in Charleston is one of my favorite parks in the entire area. This park is conveniently located in the middle of the city and has plenty of on street parking surrounding the park. Whenever I have business to do at the different hospitals I will park around here and walk through the park coming and going and take some time to relax and catch some fresh air when I get a chance. I like that there is plenty of green open space to run and roll around in. I also like that this park is usually not as crowded as some of the other parks and many times throughout the day there may be no other people there. This park is well maintained and cared for and I enjoy being able to come here and enjoy it.

Small local park. Dog-friendly. Handy if you’re in the area. There is a small playground tucked in the corner nearest Calhoun & Rutledge Ave. Lots of benches to sit on a hot afternoon. What appears to be the remains of a large building sits near Rutledge - it would be nice if there was a plaque to explain it, but it adds a bit of mystery.

A small beautifully shaded park located on the corner of Rutledge and Calhoun. The columns in the park are from the Old Charleston Museum that burned down.

This is a very quaint little park. Theres not much exciting stuff here, but walking around the green or sitting on the monument is always pleasant, and there is a small playground for children. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and plan on going back often.

Great little park perfect for a game of fetch with the pups. Also has a bit of a walking path around it, though probably a little small for jogging. And finally theres a small jungle gym/ play area for kids

We loved the Selma Tree. It was so lovely of Charleston to have so remembered this little girl. I can imagine this act is comforting to her grieving parents.
