I had my wedding reception here, so affordable and so beautiful! We used the main house and the newly renovated carriage house. We set up our waffle bar in the main house and had most of the reception in the carriage house. Such a picturesque venue! Plenty of parking (we had about 50 or so guests) and everything worked out perfectly.

If youve ever heard of thin places, this is one! Its more than just history, though the history is amazing and equally important. This is one of those geographic places where you can feel the atmosphere shift. Its peaceful, yet powerful. A very cool place, and definitely worth the visit if you are in the Cartersville area!

I was here for the Roselawn Festival a few months back and it was so much fun! My husband and I came on Saturday, and i actually came back on Sunday by myself while he was at work. All the food and drinks were delicious, the vendors were wonderful. I found so many great things to take home. Ill be back to the festival next year!

So often it is not so much the house or building but the tour guide that makes for a good experience. In this case, our tour guide – who gives the majority of the tours – was among the best we’ve ever had. Our 45 minute tour ended up going for two fascinating hours. Her depth of knowledge about the family who lived here was tremendous, and the house itself was quite interesting. We can’t say how many times we asked a question about a particular piece of furniture or a picture or a diary open to a page and she knew the complete history behind it.

A unique historical experience, even for GA, which is full of history being one of the original 13 colonies, the landing point for DeSoto, and the center of the Mississippian culture, then later the capital of the Cherokee Nation. The staff here is absolutely one of the most caring, involved, and educated of all the historical places in the SE. The mansion is a pleasure to tour and if you fortunate enough to get in on a tour, you will have a head full of the local history and the history of the manor and its occupants of the pass near two centuries of its existence. Carterville, is overlooked by many, its small, but its full of history and worth the ride.
