Winter golf conditions, cant blame noone for that. Played the new par three, it is still under construction. But when completed this will be a fun course. Good job Empire Ranch Golf.
Course is in rough shape. Fairways on some holes are worse than the rough. Some greens are in need of repair. The value was good and some holes look great. A little busy out there, but got the round finished in about 4 1/2 hours.
Love this course. The bar tender is a real awesome person to wind down after 18. Only complaint is the mosquitoes are relentless. But still wont keep me away.
The course is finally getting back into shape. Green are very good, fairways and tee boxes need work.
The course was way too wet. They apparently are over watering it, otherwise we enjoyed our 9 holes we played.
This course is horrible, i left a club to get regriped and it has taken them 2 weeks to even get the grip. The course itself i can not stand, there is standing sewer water in front of almost all of the greens the grass is not properly cut anywhere and the greens are brown and molded, the staff seemed nice at times but they are the opposite. I am never spending another dime at this golf course and dont think anyone else should.
Very picturesque with fun wildlife and surrounded by beautiful mountains. Since it is winter season one course was closed due to flooding and disappointingly there are no garbage cans along the course which led to unsightly littering near the bathrooms areas. Inside restrooms were surprisingly neat with space heaters for warmth (much appreciated). Plant life made it almost impossible to find and retrieve balls a foot into traps. Despite all we do look forward to coming back and enjoying the course during peak season.
Good course for not serious play.
Good service, friendly and helpfull
The course is in good shape and $30 with cart is a great deal.
Loved the course! What a gem in the high desert.
Very friendly, beautiful area. ez parking.
Great course, quick round, reasonable price. Bring some deep woods mosquito repellent there were tons of them we played in the morning. They are making great progress recovering this course still Al long way to go but it looks great. Great job guys keep it up!
Course is recovering from the flood a couple years ago. Overall, it was fun to play.
I received an update they are opening a par 3 course. Thank you!
Went to put an application for employment in and hope I get the job and then I will come back and tell you what kind of experience I had
Biking / hiking trail between this golf course and the Carson River is a mini-adventure with tall sage, willows and other growth. Saw 9 juvenile vultures and 1 juvenile eagle in a tree together. 2 vulture parents were nearby -- 1 flying and the other watching.
Havent played Empire for several years due to the weather damage they suffered. Course was better than I expected. Sirs will probably add this course to our schedule next year if they dont flood out again this winter.
Played here today. Terrific course for the money, not busy. Wide-open fairways but challenging approach shots, mostly nice greens. One of the 9s is still closed, but the other 2 were awesome. Bring your own water out there, no drinking water that I saw.
Had a very delightful walk with my dog. Still cool!
Nice grass and course not too difficult
The course is green and on pretty good condition. Note* bring bug spray the mosquitoes are aggressive, but the evening rate for 9 holes with a cart is really good.
Red is closed now. Improvements underway on blue and white. Still best price in town.
Gorgeous location with a ng ice homey feeling
Met some buddies here for a round of golf. The Pro Shop guy was very greeting and nice and quick to explain the details involving what once was (3) 9-hole layouts on the property before the winter flood of 2016-2017. As it sits now - they were able to salvage 18 holes from the (3) nines and did a really good job of it. The explanation came with a new temporary scorecard for the saved 18 holes and everything else was basically the same. The experience was not tarnished at all as we all had a great time! The bar was open and after our round we all were given a coupon for a large hot dog and discount brew for our play! I am not totally sure about the future plan of the restoration of the flood damaged holes other than they plan to do it but need a drier winter this ho round to help! But all in all - the administration here goes out of their way to put you on the course to have a good time. Will come back and play as often as i can. A wonderful experience with nice views of the mountains!
Great place to play and practice. Large bucket of balls for the driving range is $5.00.
Great course
Very nice 27 hole course. They are working very hard to get back to full speed, after last years devastating flood that almost wiped them out. Lots of wildlife to watch and great personnel.
Absolutely fabulous course and beautiful weather
Had a great time. Greens are fast, ppl are awesome! Come out and play!!!
Great service, always a great day golfing here
Great location, but sometimes is not looking in good shape. Overall, nice experience golfing on a weekend If you can.
Very interesting course.... Very nice people
Had a hard time with flood but starting to get back in shape. Beautiful golf course, moderately challenging. Very affordable right now. Best bargain in town.
So I will never play at this golf course again. The new ownership is a joke. The dude in the club house did not know anything. Tried to tell me I did not pay for golf and I did. Then while I was practicing my chipping and putting some lady came and started profiling me because my arms are tattooed. Telling me I just break the rules. Now I am a Marine. I have tattoos yes but Im not trouble maker. I fought for this country and deserve a little respect. None the less anyone ever gets treated like I did military or not its not right. Ill will never golf at this facility ever again.
Some day Ill keep the same ball through 18....!
I love this course. It is fair, in great condition (except the bunkers are hard, but thats the case with most Carson City golf courses), affordable, fast play, and a great course to walk. The staff are friendly (I dont know what the other reviewer was talking about). I highly recommend it. I drive down from South Lake Tahoe to play it all the time.
Great place to Golf/course Dosent open until 9am during winter.
Great coarse Very nice people Great rates
Horrible shape..do not waste your time!!
Amazing golf course, great staff. Going to look like a very good summer for this course cant wait to get back out
Good course and good people. Choice of 3 nines to play. Challenging but a good test of golf. Springtime can be spotty if it has been very wet, but once the water drains its very nice.
Great place... enjoyed it
This is the local goat ranch but the price is cheapest in area Carson City. Last year GolfNow had $12 special but this year it is $37 so dont use Golf Now. I went out and asked for Senior Twilight price and got $20 which is no special for this course. Earlier this year $15 was Golf Now fire sale price. Standing grey water is common in places. The fairways and greens are all grass and for goat ranch as I call them the track is pretty good. Hybrid greens are tricky on two of the three nines. Red course has best greens. It has fairways and second cut then rough in fairways. Pretty well placed traps but not enough sand in traps. Sand shots catch clay about two to 4 inches down in places. If your game is not fine tuned this is a good place to go beat it around.
The course is in terrible shape at peak season. Unmowed fairways with huge GURs in line of play. Very over watered. Greens are very slow; some have weed patches. Bunkers havent been raked in days . Golf shop staff low energy. Even at $25 inc. cart it is a pass. As a twosome, we did play in 3.5 hours. That got them a star.
This course is just fine for the money . offers 5 tee boxes and 27 holes, so play is fast, food is quality at a great price, burgers are awesome!! Been playing here for 20 years ! Course can play short but greens are tough, so par 4s demand a good iron shot and the right dist. on drive .
I played here for the first time this year, and have been back 4 times. It has been an excellent experience each time with a friendly staff that wants you to enjoy your round. The course is in excellent condition and while a relatively simple community course it is a challenge and a beautiful surround. An unbelievable bargain.
Pricate... gotta know someone who knows someone who lives there...
The course used to be ok but nowadays its horribly maintained, poor service, bad carts, opens pro shop late, no mats so if theres frost and youre first or second up you will not be practicing... you also have to drive around the course to random holes from their three 9 hole courses to piece together 18 holes with a par of 68. Its not worth your time, at least until they improve operations. Too many awesome courses around.
Nice people running the course,Excellent service!
As of September 2017, you need to note that this golf course is below par. As out of towners, we were looking for a cheaper golf course to play prior to playing our expensive course the next day. All though the staff was kind and warned about the flooding, the course truly is in poor and reckless condition. The fairways have NOT been mowed in over 2 months. The rough grass was throughout the fairways...Our balls were easily lost and in turn we found many balls that were lost previously by others. I am writing this review to warn others not to come here until the greens and fairways have been corrected. It is a cheap day of golf..but it is not true play....However, when cleaned up, trimmed and mowed, this will be a fun place to play and warm up.
Goog conditions but got stung by a yellow jacket
I like the variety of holes. Fairly good sheep, but it appears that its on its last legs. I hope it makes it.
Im a below average golfer, Im in it because its a sport I can do, and to spend time outside with family and friends. This course is perfect for me because its scenic, beautiful, and there arent houses all over the place.
We rented out the clubhouse for my moms 80th birthday. It was gorgeous! Lots of space, wonderful meal and the staff was awesome!
Played well
Nice prices. The course isnt championship quality, but I love to play here. Fun course
Solid track for the price. Good course for mid to high handicap golfers, low handicappers wont find it very challenging.
Greens are wet from the snow runoff, but this place has great potential
Fairways where choppy ruff wasnt cut needs lot of work
Golf course is a mess with most of the holes closed, they still want $25 to play 4 holes in each set of 9. Bad experience and a bad course. 5 thumbs down
Food was cold and flavorless. Staff seemed under the influence. Wont ba back.
This Course is super nice!
Very nice course. Keep it straight
More weeds than grass. 1/3 of the course is closed.
Slowly but surely becoming a course to have in mind again.
Nice greens
Best golf course on planet earth.
Good golf
Beautiful grounds!!
Eh
Beautiful
Mediocre...
3 different 9 holes.
Just lovely.
Been playing for years. Its coming g back around.
