This is a beautiful place near BU along Charles. I went here for a dance shoot because of its beauty ️ and had a great time. You can walk around and read a book and enjoy the views
Very encouraging & enthusiastic female staff there who stayed w/ me the whole time to help me overcome my fear of falling upside down in the Charles River despite a brief downpour.Plus, I was also amazed that our above staff remember a lot of my favorite adult friends dating back to both my early Springboard & SOMA Brookline REC heydays, respectively. Beth Budner, Auburndale, MA.
Its good place but theres a lot of duck droppings hahaha
Great place for a walk, alone or with friends, beautiful area, serene, relaxing and somewhat secluded, also people exercising, yoga, etc
Home-y, and I never even lived anywhere by water, its just full of families and people. Really nice.
Right next to the water. Picnic benches. Hung out w the ducks, squirrels and enjoyed the view and Boston in the summertime.
This place sucks!!!! Every time I come here with my family I hear that they’ve reached capacity!!! Even at opening times!!! Will never go there again!
Workout area needs some maintenance but overall a good park
Pretty cool little spot
Awesome views of Boston, alongside a tranquil Charles River..... great for taking your dogs to play or going for a run.
This is a beautiful place.
Chill place to study, running or playing outdoor games
Great place to put in a kayak or play some summer league softball. Right on the Charles it provides a great spot for those looking to get a little outdoor activity in without the hassle of getting into downtown.
Amazing view of Charles from here.
It is a very nice place to stop if you happen to be doing a shopping trip at @MicroCenter
Great Pokemon spawns, gym easy hold
Lots of mud. But when its not raining, it dries out and you get a lot of good walking path options. If you like to watch the crew teams row, this is a not-so-secret spot to get a good vantage point.Dont try to park; the one public lot has like ten spaces and is full pretty much 24/7.
Beautifully managed Park on the shores of the Charles. Modernization has not forgotten the History of the area. The buildings are beautiful and the pool a welcome break from Summer heat. A great place for the kids in town.
Nice. Sat on the grass with friends and watched some of the Head of the Charles 2019.
Great place for a day out, good outdoor gym, perfect for Tai Chi or yoga. Would recommend if you have kids and they need to get their energy out.
View of BU campus is spectacular. Bring good shoes: Magazine Beach is built on old salt marshes, and the park can be very marshy after rain. Could do with some landscaping (grass is patchy, and goose poop is everywhere).
Beautiful Green space to explore in a highly urban area. Keep an eye out and you might find some lovely critters
Good spot to do outdoor fitness on the pull up and fitness rigs!
Cool little spot if youre in the area.
Nice little picnic spot down by the Charles River and the BU Bridge.
So much potential for this Green space, but it seriously could use some TLC. If done right, this park could be a wonderful destination for picnics, walking, enjoying the Charles. Insufficient tables, bathrooms when the pool is closed, no BBQS, plain landscaping, no garbages, etc. So, its lovely to have the green space along the river, but it could be amazing with a bit of planning and money.
Quiet and serene with nice views of the water and city.
Love it here but they need to put something so we could eat down here like a pizza shop or something I
To use the bathroom you need to go to the pool, it has a shower and bathroom. Its gorgeous to play sports and barbecue also.
I love this park, a wonderful place, at any time of year.
Very tranquil tucked in and great to unwind after a busy day!
No cost for entering the pool. Not crowded at all. It will be better if the shower area is not that outdated.
Nice place to take a walk
This place is amazing, it heals your soul
We had a great gathering there
Super fun riding bikes near the park!
Nice but too many geese!!!!
Good for relax.
Love the about theme park promotes healthy living and its a good jog destination
Very good view of river.
Not a fan no place to park and enjoy it
Pretty, but near Memorial Drive, which gives it an urban feel.
Its a nice park by the Charles River. If you can find a parking which is not that easy, you may park here for free during your visit. It is not very clean but what do you expect from a public place that does not get much funding.
Its nice that they leave a green open space for the public instead of building. They often host family events during the summer but I think they can maintain the place a bit better like keeping it cleaner and perhaps making walkways.
Garbage bins overflowing. Both times Ive been here
Nice place to sit and have a coffee watching the world go by.
The old powder magazine that gave this charming urban park its name was built as Thomas Jefferson was finishing his presidency. It tells the truth of firearm outlooks at the time one of the founding fathers was in office.People had to come here to get their small rations of gunpowder because it was assumed to be too hazardous to allow individuals to keep larger qualities of powder in their homes. This is very different from what modern gun advocates would claim. Now its a semi neglected history relic in a well maintained park that deserves its considerable popularity as an open space amenity.
Great
Is nice place.
This park features an outdoor exercise area for adults right off the Boston University bridge. Plenty of space to lay out on to gather sun, have a picnic or just relax. Also, its near a Whole Foods and Trader Joes
Many activities for all ages
Nice park on riverbank.
Very beautiful
Nice and peaceful. Different events happen here, picnic tables, fields, walkway and free public swimming pool.
Nice park right on the river. Not too far from central and close to the colleges so you can watch all the crew teams.
Cool and refreshing
You can sit and relax and go swimming
Not a beach but still a nice place.
Free pool and sprinklers for da kiddos
Magazine beach pool is Free, there is lots of space to lay out and relax and a food store is nearby.
Beautiful views. Good peps, good fun - good games. Love the pool and trails!!!
Needs some love but its a gem regardless.
Its not the prettiest park but its well suited for exercising (soccer field, running, gym area).
We played baseball here in the Spring. Nice field, plenty of parking for parents and others who were using the park.
Life is beautiful
Love it. Great place and view and not to mentioned its FREE.
Great place to have a picnic. Tons of rabbits.
Nice place by the river for walks or picnics. Baseball/softball field isnt the best as there is an overgrown area and the ball gets lost all the time.
Quiet park with a great view of the Charles river
Pool was too crowded and bathrooms were disgusting. At some point, a kid threw up in the pool and everyone had to come out. Overall a terrible experience. Save time and go to Francis Mccrehan pool, in Alewife instead. Way better.
Cookouts are great
Free but crowded public pool. Lots of cement and no grass. Could use an overhaul.
Nice
Good place!
Nice place,
Love it!
Great outdoors
Awesome !!!
Nice place for picnics
Well
It close to me
Not a whole lot there, but its a nice place to just watch the river go by for a few minutes
Nice park
Benches are available for resting on.
Dirty but chill.
Nice place
Amazing
I was under the impression that this was in fact a real beach, as in the ocean based on its name and the lack of info that was given on maps, this was in fact not a beach however it was a quite small area off of the river. This was a unpleasant experience.
This park has water, but no sand.
Not open the day stated?
