Stopped by on the way to the Harriet Tubman visitors center. The docent was sittng in his truck in the parking area and let us in. He grew up in the area and was full of wonderful information. Were so glad he was there to open up the tiny school for us. Its restored and beautiful inside, lots of period photos, really makes the history come through. Well worth the visit!

Kickstands Up Motorcycle Riders stopped by the Stanley Institute for a Little History. AMAZING! We are grateful this small piece of American & Black History is being preserved. Dont drive pass...stop & peek into the windows. So much to see.

Nice place gives a great insight to how black children were educated and how they had to all be in one place just to learn how to read, write and do math.

A quick hop out of the car on the Maryland Harriet Tubman Scenic Byway. Not usually open but has signage.

Great to see a part of history.

This is a great historical site where you can about the one-room School located in in Dorchester County. The guy was able to provide us with a great detail history about the school and was also one of the schools former students. This is a must see place to visit. Please schedule an appointment to see the inside of the school
