Didnt make it too far from the trailhead - too hot and exposed. Apparently it gets better later, but the dogs and little kid werent making it.
This trail is really great hiking west to east. Too exposed on east side near hwy 36
My wife used to live on a property that backs up to this trail (It was still private land then) - while short, it offers a decent vertical. Its open and not/less muddy than other trails right nearby, and its less crowded than Sanitas. But then again, just about any trail is less crowded than Sanitas.
Trails are not maintained well in beginning of trail, car tracks have left giant ruts which have thrown me off at a steep decline. The top is very pretty, but as a biker I would not recommend as a fun ride unless they did some serious trail work
Colorado has always and will continue to amaze me with its beauty.
Not very crowded, only a half-dozen spaces in the trailhead parking lot. You can hear US 36 for the first third of the hike. No shade until you get over the high point towards the end.
Love the scenery! Get ready for a hill climb right away!
Good training hill with a nice forest hike tacked on at the end.
Clean park
Great hiking/ biking
