This is my girlfriends favorite place in Boston and I completely understand why! So beautiful and scenic
Grab a hot chocolate from L A Burdick on Clarendon St at Copley and walk by the Charles. Thats how refreshment during my student life was. Oh you can spot leaves changing colors in fall..pretty nice view. The Esplanade often held outdoor movies and orchestra. You can see the Cambridge skyline including MIT, and people working out, studying, dating etc. Overall a very nice place.
Beautiful for walks with a dear friend or group of friends, or a loved one. There are intermittent piers you can sit and picnic at. Theres two playgrounds for any kids. Nice view of Cambridge, pretty during day, prettier during the night. There is one popular college kids hangout spot you may notice night, nearer the Mass Ave Bridge.
A wonderful place with walking trail all around. With great views
Great place to walk, run, or bike. Also, the sunsets are amazing!
A real treat in a spectacular city. Beautiful views and really serene. Great for a little de-compression.Must admit: we were here in October on a 75-degree day!
Where all the cool kids kids (and their cool parents) go to exercise: walking, running, cycling, rowing. No squares allowed!Four stars because we need MORE BIKE RACKS!!
Beautiful views of the Charles river and Cambridge. Walked around here at least once a week during my 6 years of living in Boston. Great for cycling, walking your dog and going for a run.
The most spectacular and peaceful walk you can ever take in Boston/Cambridge. The Charles River esplanade is a 7 mile loop through both cities full of trees, birds, water views and small alcoves peaceful reading.
Its beautiful serene and all the positive things I could say. Its the best place to be if you love to jog in the evening or just enjoy a ride away from the city but within the city
Its the best place to hang out it Boston! Suits for any event be it hanging out with friends, going for a jog, just lying down on the grass to see the broad blue skies, sitting on benches to experience the cool breeze calm environment watching the ducks,MIT dome, and the beautiful skyline of Boston! Its huge and you can keep going everyday!
Beautiful scenery. Also very relaxing too. Just saying the name gets me relaxed. ES-PLA-NAD-E. Youll love it!
Great spot to walk along that dirty watah. Beautiful views and pretty quiet for being dead center in the city. You can rent kayaks and canoes and more.Lots of benches to relax on and a lot of good shops and stores along the route. Plenty of shaded areas along the walkway, too when it is hot outside.
Great walks. Terrific sunsets! A must if you live here or if you don’t
Absolutely beautiful location with loads of different things to get into from running/working out to biking and play areas for the kids!! Two to three blocks over is lots of eateries, a mall, Boston University, etc. Worth it to see and take it in!!
Great place to spend a good chunk of time. Ive seen one beer garden, an amphitheater space, and people picnicking and such too. Great place to run, bike, and rollerblade. (Youll have to duck, dodge, dive, and weave through the all families but thats the fun part.)Glad to have this place for sure
This is a huge area to traverse and see the scenic beauty of the charles river. It is definitely good for a late evening walk with the cool breeze from cooling you down as the sun burns on your face
Excelent place to bring kids, family, the person you love...Enjoy the sun, walking, running, bring a hammock, read a book or simply the air.
People can enjoy a really great view of Boston city and its tall buildings
Its a beautiful bank site of Charles river. If you want to take a walk or jog, you must visit this place. The sunset from this place is mesmerizing. The city lights, skyscrapers and the bridge on Charles river make a serene landscape. If you have a hobby of bird watching, you can spend hours enjoying the beauty of variety of birds.

Sunny, 72 degrees 8 November, the most wonderful place in the world!
Great place for a nice evening stroll. Get in the fresh air of Boston and relax.
Great bike lanes, great views of Boston and Cambridge skyline. Kayaking, boat docks, sailing, the esplanade, Hatch Shell, large grassy areas. Miles upon miles of space for recreation. The goose poop on paths can be annoying and overcrowding during certain times of day, but overall it is a Boston treasure that can be endlessly enjoyed and explored.
Great views of Cambridge and the Charles River, right next to Back Bay.

The perfect place for an afternoon walk with your better half, friends, or family with an awesome sunset scenery
Terrific crowd, exceptional music and phenomenal display of Fireworks, like nothing else I have experienced before. Kudos to the Boston Police, State Police and all other service men who did everything right to control such a huge crowd and orchestrated a disciplined traffic at Boston Downtown.
A venue to be asked to join a Frisbee game or even a board game.A great place to meet new friends One of my favorite places in Boston. You can walk around, watch the boats, see the cityscape, people and dog watch!
Esplanade is an amazingly close place to walk, hammock, people watch, and just enjoy a bit of nature in Boston. 10/10 would recommend!

A great place for the whole family. Rent a sail and go out into the river. So clean now!
BEAUTIFUL. Everyone was staying relatively safe that we saw as well. Most were wearing masks and those sitting down did their best to stay six feet+ from others.

Incredible view of the river as the sun was setting.
Best place to find peace. This place have my heart. I can sit here whole day long, watch water flowing and vehicles rushing on a distant bridge. Charles River at night sometimes become chilly but then too it never looses its serenity. Its having a long deck where one can plan little surprises and birthday ceremonies.
Really enjoyed my walk here from the Westin Copley square. Looks to be really nice for walking, jogging, cycling or just bench sitting and enjoying the view.
Scenic synthesis between Boston and Cambridge with views on both sides of the Charles.
Not too many places in Boston where you can see beautiful sunsets over the water. Consider parking in the neighborhood south of BU Beach and then using BUs pedestrian bridge to cross Storrow Drive and walk down the Esplanade towards the city.
Stunning views. Great walkways. You really lose yourself in the cityscape. Beautiful sky views at night. Unobstructed shorelines. A must visit when I come to the city.

One of my most favorite places to take a nice peaceful walk next to a river in Boston. Typically followed up with a nice visit to paparazzi on Newbury Street for Italian. Its a great place to walk they also rent boats and canoes. A great place to cycle and rollerblade. Its also the host to the Fourth of July fireworks display.
