Historical information. Adjacent to USS CONSTUTION. Worth a visit. Knowledgabke staff.
It was a really nice, interactive museum. There were some games for kids. My son was very happy they have one of those penny squishing machines. Those things make great inexpensive souvenirs! It was a nice museum, but the ship and its history was amazing!
Great museum and visitors centre. Lovely condition tall ship, as a Brit we took some ribbing all in good nature. Great to see serving navy personnel giving to the community and supporting USA history. Some facts, quotes and traditions quoted differ from the English which is interesting.

We do love this park a lot. Till next time with you guys!
My experience there is going to the State Street Orange Line station. It is a train station. Its not the worst train station Ive been to in my life.
Great place to visit only problem is this virus theyve got limited hours theyre only open from Thursday through Sunday go Navy. Wife took some great pictures of the old Ironside
Awesome way to spend the day exploring while getting a little history lesson as well. Follow the 2.5 mile trail and see how Paul Revere warned the city! Easy walk and you can finish across the bridge over by the USS Constitution museum and catch a water taxi back to Battle Wharf where the Coast Guard is stationed!
Great experience so close to home! A park representative was available the entire time at the base of the building. The traverse up for the building is a healthy one and one should be ready to make the required steps without a break. Everything is free. Great time. Great view.
What a great experience. The Tall Ships come to Michigan every summer but none are open to tours. Just amazing to see and hard to believe choosing the life of a sailor back then. Must stop destination if ever visiting Boston.
This is a really special treat. This museum/ park site containing the USS Constitution is a must see. The ship has a sense of importance as you pass through metal detectors and a welcome center orientating you.The ship itself it gorgeous. So much of the original ship and materials are there for you to touch and see. The sailors are super knowledgeable and can tell you so much about the history of the ship. The ship is such an important part of US Military history, its so neat that theyve preserved it for generations to see.
I brought my family to this site traveling on our way home from vacation. The area is very well maintained and clean. The birthplace of America, this site is a must to be visited by everyone who is able to do so!
Theres no parking near here. The Old North Church is beautiful and rich in history. You need a couple of hours to sign up and take the tour.
Awesome park with beautiful flowers and trees. There was a bridge, ducks, 2 swans, great landscaping, statues, and tasteful street performers. Great for an afternoon wak, sit on the bench to reflect, or observe the birds and nature.
Culture rich and enjoyable way to learn our Nations history
Unfortionately the Constitution was closed the day I went but they let me on the USS Cassin Young which was a great experience. The crew on deck were also very knowledgeable and it was nice to talk to them.
Absolutely stunning! Wonderful history and well presented by our traditionally dressed guide!
Boston is amazing! I absolutely loved being a tourist and walking the freedom trail to discover and learn about Bostons rich history. This is where it lead us! Bunker Hill. The park is very well maintained and its beautiful here. I only wish the museum was open a little bit later. Missed out on it because it closed so early.
So this park is basically the freedom trail. The visitors center includes a museum, movie, gift shop, and awesome staff. The USS Constitution is outside and I got to go inside and see the decks. I’d recommend going early in the summer to avoid the wait times, but also late enough to see all the stuff on the freedom trail. Check availability on the website.
Informative tour. Our guide was john hancocks wife. Went as a chaperone for my sons class. Think i had more fun than the kids.
We spent a beautiful Sunday visiting the USS Constitution museum and we all enjoyed it. We took the T boat from Boston and the skyline vow is amazing.
I love Boston National Historical Park !! People here are so kind and the galleries are beautiful !! :) I have been here 20 times !!
Everything in Boston is awesome and presentable. Cant wait to go back
Love the atmosphere, people friendly. Felt safe.
Quick walk through a destroyer.
This park is a true gem, and its free! In good or fair weather there is hardly a better spot in Boston to spend the outdoors. The ship USS CONSTITUTION is marvelous and inspires to study more of American history. It is open till 6 pm and provides many fascinating artefacts. We love it and the district!
If you go to Boston you have to go to Faneuil Hall, it is such a great piece of history.
Very interesting history. Superb walking
Great historical value, I always try to find history wherever I go and this is deffinantly a most see. They normally take the ship out into the harbor and fire the guns, will have to bring the kids.
All of the sites on Bostons Freedom Trail are remarkable and well explain the history of our country. Im so glad we made this trip and learned so much.
It closes to early at 5pm and you can’t climb up after 4:30pm. It’s kind of sad because I’m really good at hiking. There are 3 poke gyms here. Very good place to place Pokemon go. It’s close to the sea where you can take a ferry.
Beautiful architectural design, was the location of where the declaration was signed. Great pictures.
Boston best place to visit take some pictures go inside and learn about Boston pretty good time with friends
Was pretty cool to visit had never been there before
Beautiful old city. This is actually Little Italy. The Freedom trail plaque.
It was nice. The bums were in full bloom.
A great time had here. Im former navy and went back in time 30 years being on a ship that felt like home. The tour that the rangers give of the below and upper decks was excellent. You learn a lot on the history of the ship, the person its named after, the battles in was involved in during World War 2 and the damage that it incurred after several kamikaze attacks and how life was during that era. Gave me a new appreciation of the greatest generation and how they got things done.Touring the USS CONSTITUTION was equally as fascinating seeing the ship in all her remodeled condition and just how life must have been 300 years ago. Once down in the ship you can see how she got her nickname, old ironsides, by looking her construction and that she was built to last generations.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all the historical visits I did in Boston. Staff was helpful, very well informed and pleasant. All areas were clean, well indicated with some information which were useful to visitors. Boston comes across as a charming city that is well looked after and full of character. Definitely the highlight of my summer holidays in the US.
Relaxed, friendly, with a family feeling! Dont miss the tasty food too! Well done to the owners!
Great part of history worth a visit. There is alot of interactive things for everyone. I recommend stopping by.
Very cool to have the opportunity to literally walk through our countrys history. So fascinating to hear and read about the people, the buildings and the ships that helped to shape the United States. I really appreciated our historians taking the time to make these monuments and memorials accessible to people of all ages.
Love the area. I could hang out for days just looking at the buildings.
The Freedom trail was great. Lots of history obviously. Great architecture too. The trail was marked by red brick in the sidewalk so you dont have to consult your map constantly to stay on the path through the city.
Very educational. If you have kids, this place is a must go! so many historically important places to see. You will learn something you did not know about Boston I am sure! Its quite a walk so go prepared with water if youre going during the summer. Loved it!
Interesting spot. Plenty to see. I enjoyed visiting the USS Cassin Young - a WW2 destroyer. Nice harbour views here as well. If you have the time approach it from the walkway from the Marina - its a bit less direct but you get marina views and then a good side on view of the USS Constitution which is the oldest sailing warship still in existence. Its also open to public viewing. Some nice buildings in this area as well - an ideal way to see the old navy shipyard and get a feeling of what it must have been like in its heyday.
This is really the ‘must do’ thing, while in Boston. This is a huge historical park inside the ‘downtown’ area, where there is a walking trail called ‘Freedom Trail’. You can walk by yourself with the road sign and self explanatory landmarks. They offer guided tour as well, where the guides ( in an old, colonial costumes) show up and take you through the history. I myself did not take this ‘guided’ tour, however spent my time through the trail in my own pace. It’s a pretty good walking and enjoyable. You would really enjoy if you love history.
Down town Boston. Very commercialized. I remember visiting 20+ years ago and you could feel the history. Now very commercial, lost its character, if you want to buy a souvenir and eat fast food go here. if you want to learn a about history, the revolution and our great forefathers buy a good book. They even sandwiched Paul Revere house between two contemporary buildings. What’s happened to preserving American history ?
We walked the entire freedom trail. Its a long walk bit well worth the time. You get to see different parts of downtown and a lot of historic sites. We enjoyed the trail which is easy to follow with the different color bricks showing you the way.
Very neat place with nice grounds.
Board the ship! You will enjoy seeing the history and appreciate the craftsmanship. The guides are also really knowledgeable.Well worth the stop while doing the Freedom Trail!
A rich piece of American history. The restoration and maintenance of the ship is amazing. A great visit for anyone.
Great place to spend with your family.
We took a tour from this port and had a wonderful time. I want to go back!!!
Kind and knowledgeable staff. Great opportunity for some history. Charlestown Navy Yard facility includes a secured entrance to be able to get into the USS Constitution (it is a commission US Navy vessel). The indoor displays are intriguing to adults, yet accessible to children. You cant take a stroller or any food into the USS Constitution.
Great place to visit and get a feel for how the US Navy did things back in the day. We have a modern naval tour guide who was great, very knowledgeable about the ship and time period. Tour is free but donations are welcome.
Beautiful place to walk around and enjoy Boston!
Had a awesome time exploring where history was made.
Was our last stop after Bunker Hill and definitely the best! Oldest ship in the fleet as well as the most spectacular! A most stop if you are touring Boston!
Beautiful neighborhood. Its very walkable and even better if you have a bike :)
Follow the Freedom Trail for a history lesson on the American Revolution
At the end of Freedom trail. Closed on Mondays. Otherwise nice place to visit
Such an amazing experience. Visiting old ironsides was incredible. A trip to remember forever. Im happy I was able to experience this because I dont know if Ill ever be back to Boston.
Very awesome place for anyone who loves history. My children learned a lot and had fun doing it.
Bunker Hill Monument, the USS Constitution, the Comendants House and a stroll down 2nd Avenue ....a perfect way to wind down this day trip to the city.
What a great place to take kids. They learn alot and even get to throw tea overboard!!!
A great visit into the past. Ship is truly amazing and interesting. Worth a stop.
Loved Boston! So pretty and so much history to see
The USS CASIN ! WW2 fighter. It’s a great museum with many things to see. I was surprised with the number of volunteers available to tell the story. ️
The Bunker Hill monument was a treat. It was easy to get to and we lucked out with street parking for a Saturday. The brief descriptions gave a sense of what happened on the Hill. The visitors center had some informative info and brochures. The rangers were friendly and invited us to climb the 295 steps to the top of the monument (pics). That was quite the workout! People were taking it all in on the park benches, and laying on the grass. Kids were playing and adults were discussing the battle of Bunker Hill.
An amazing experience of seeing a war time ship. Dont miss the story narration in the central deck of the ship. Youll get a deeper dive into Americas naval history and the challenges faced by the crew during those scary days
Absolutely gorgeous ️!! Love Boston and its brick buildings and cobblestone walkways aroun north end and the common.
The history is amazing. Take the guided tour!
Always wanted to visit this place. My dog was excited to run around here too ♡
Very cool place to visit. The USS Constitution was amazing. And surprising the USS Cassin was great to visit.
Overall neat place. The Constitution is awesome. The museums are for kids, and well done.
Fun free historic place to learn about some of the nations history!
So much History here especially with the US. Constitution . You can board and see all levels of this great Ship. Excellent museum and tourist center. So much history . If your in Boston please visit here.
Boston has such rich history here. Cant wait to visit again.
Lovely boat trip and really interesting tour of the fort by knowledgeable Park Rangers.
Its nice but overall Washington monument is better than this for the similar architecture
Loved the place. Did a lot of walking, enjoy the nature and learned a lot about the history. One of my favorite spots if you like to walk.
Had a good time walking along the Freedom Trail. Pretty crowded and lot of commercial shops on the way.
Definitely a must to see, 1 free visitor ctr and early wood battle ship w park rangers and naval personnel that tell about the history of the area and answer any of your questions and another ctr w historical momentos/artifacts and description of nautical things of that era that is donation basis. This is one of the stops of the HOP on - hop off bus. This is a must in your visit of boston and is good for young to old.
Our Cub Scouts group had a sleep over on the USS Constitution. We had tours led by Navy seamen. We slept below deck. We observed the evening during of the ceremonial cannon. Meals were in the Navy Yard galley. The only downer was the bathroom- two toilets for 50 people.
Great historic park! Then just jump on the freedom trial, a short walk to the USS constitution!
Nice but limited National park service museum. Be sure and go up stairs. The navy has an interesting short museum in addition to the two ships. MUST have a photo ID to get on board the ships or visit the navy museum.
I loved this park. The greenery was really amazing and loved the view of lake and greenery at one place. The park was so big so couldnt see the whole park since I had less time but I love this park. I would definitely go to this park whenever I go to Boston. Was able to take nice pictures and they have awesome lemonade there !!
It was pretty nice to walk around this area even though it was super cold. I also got to learn some interesting historical facts.
Really cool places to see a couple historic battleships and a museum that does a great job at showing you the shipyard history. Make sure to go on board the USS Constitution!
Established in 1974, this national park consists of eight historically important sites that illustrate the events that led to the American Revolution in 1776 and the founding and growth of the United States. The historic properties include the Old South Meeting House, the Old State House, Faneuil Hall, the Paul Revere House, and Old North Church in Downtown Boston; the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown; a portion of the Boston (Charlestown) Navy Yard including USS Constitution; and Dorchester Heights in South Boston.
We love Boston, the harbor, the whole area is a historical wonder of our beautiful United States!
Fun learning about the Bunker Hill battle
History is amazing. It was so busy while we were there.
