Very quaint Event Hall. The sound, and overall experience was very enjoyable. We were there for the Steve Vai and Alabama Symphony Orchestra show. Steve was absolutely amazing and the orchestra did a great job on such short notice.Staff was outstanding!

This is a beautiful place. Lots of great seating to where you can actually see the stage. Highly recommend this place

Went,my first time ever, for Roseanne Cash on Sunday with a new friend. It was a really great experience. The A.S.c is beautiful inside, very well ventilated. Roseanne Cash was really, really great. The Alys Stephens Center and Mrs. Cash got a new fan.

Been to several concerts here. Very nice venue. Highly recommend checking out their website to see if theres an act youd like.

It has a nice atmosphere. I have been to several shows at the Alys Stephens Center. Everything is always nice. They have good sound and lighting technician who handles the shows very well. I have not done many concerts there, but have been to ballets, kid shows and plays which were a great.

Were very lucky to have this beautiful venue in the Southside of Birmingham. The ASOs matinee performance of Beethovens Eroica was excellent, and the conductor and first clarinetist were kind enough to answer questions for our RMCS students. Fantastic experience.

Bradford Marcellus was very good and meet and greet was better.

There doesnt seem to be a bad seat in the house! The acoustics are nearly perfect. We have attended many concerts and ballet performances at the Alys Stephens center. The performances have all been top quality. Ushers are always helpful. All of the staff I have interacted with have been kind.

Always have a great time in this space. Ive come for concerts, operas, speakers, plays, ballets. Ive even performed here with my university choir on numerous occasions. Beautiful facility and awesome acoustics.

I saw the Alabama Symphony Orchestra perform with special guest Steve Vai. Amazing doesnt seem to do justice to the performances that night. The sound was perfect with no distorted overtones just beautiful ambient reverb. I really enjoyed my evening there. Definitely worth it if you get a chance to go!

I had a wonderful time attending Tedx Birmingham at the Alys Stephens Center. This is truly a world class venue for the performing arts - right here in Birmingham at UAB!

The Alys Stephens Center is simply a wonderful hall for entertainment. The folks working in the venue are friendly. The seating is comfortable and provides plenty of leg room. The facilities are clean and well maintained. Above this, the ASC brings in a large variety of artists to perform - from classical, to jazz, to Irish folk, to Japanese drums - and the groups never fail to provide entertainment and wonder. The ASC is a Birmingham treasure.

I had a lovely time. The atmosphere was relaxing and UAB Gospel Choir showed out. It was great!!!

It is an A+ facility. 4 stars only because I attended the Anthony Hamilton concert with my boyfriend 10-11-19. My boyfriend is in a chair, this was his first A.H. concert. And his birthday present(September). I didnt like how our seating arrangement. He was basically in the isle... And I was seated what felt like below him. As I was two steps in a little balcony area... So we werent near enough together. This was not a proper /guest arrangement.

Very nice venue with multiple performance rooms. While not exceptionally old, the history of the facility is interesting and will be told to interested groups touring the building for years to come. One of the rooms was intentionally sized small enough that traveling performance groups couldnt make a profit. They were trying to maintain a purity that is lost when the main concern is profit.

Great venue. I once heard Ellis Marsalis say he wished New Orleans had a venue like the Alys..

Beautiful venue with lots of great programs

Exceptional, intimate venue for theater, dance, and musical performances. We saw Shawn Colvin and Mary Chapin Carpenter in the Jemison Concert Hall and the acoustics were wonderful.Buy a $20 plastic cup and bring your drinks in the theater!Lots of parking nearby for night and Sunday performances.

Saw the ASO perform Home for the Holidays and had a really good time.

The best place in Birmingham for concerts very consistent and diversity is its key.

UAB summet band camp was great. The final performance at the Center topped off the week long camp.

I thoroughly enjoyed the concert with Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers tonight! First time at the venue too. Very nice place to hear music and the staff was very friendly as well. Cant wait to see another show here!

Went to the symphony and had a wonderful time. Love the conductor. I so enjoy the way he gives history and special insight before they begin each time. He and the orchestra never fail to present a wonderful experience.

We had an wonderful time in a beautiful theatre. The music was great. Staff were friendly and inviting. Our event came with wine and delicious treats.

Love this venue! A few years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Brian McKnight here after a stellar concert. I had always wanted to see him perform, and the Alys Stephens Center was the perfect choice for such an intimate concert. My date and I loved the performance and the ambience. Ive also attended the annual Local Fest here, and a few other events and I cant say Ive ever had a bad experience. Cant wait to attend another event here soon!

Doing my visit to thr Alys Stephens Center, I find it entertaining, informative sbout the different mazters of music, enjoyable. The Alabama Symphony Orchestra is magnificent. Each time that I come to a concert I experience their mastery of music with each instrument.

We attended the Albama Symphony Christmas special sponsored by Merrill Lynch this year. It was a wonderful start for the holiday season.

Awesome very classy the architecture and inside design are simple and tasteful. The India Arie concert was phenomenal! The entire experience was vibration raising!

The theater was very clean and the production was excellent.

This is an amazing venue whether you are attending a school function or a professional concert. Ive heard many choirs, music festivals, and Kristin Chenoweth perform here. Its exceptional.

Saw Alabama Symphony Orchestra in Jemison Hall. Lovely venue! Dress code varies from business casual to a lil bit swanky. Acoustics are phenomenal!

It’s beautiful here. Sometimes it can be a little cramped but the programs and events held here are always nice. I wish parking was easier!

Nice venue. Parking is a little difficult. Police presence was appreciated. Area is well lit for night time functions. Seating and acoustics are excellent.

Really nice location for the symphony! Went for Handels Messiah and the ASO did a magnificent job.Parking wasnt too hard to find even with a UAB graduation going on.Only problem we had was it seemed like there wasnt enough bathroom facilities for the amount of people there.

The facility is beautiful. The ushers are awesome. The performance was beautiful and uplifting. My only problem was I was freezing . Lesson learned wear warmer clothing.

I was shocked at how nice this place was. I went to a work function and was greatly impressed. Since my first visit I have gone back for my childs school functions once a week for the past few weeks. I did not give it a 5 star review because of the lack of parking near the venue.

Parking can be tricky if youre not familiar with the UAB area. The facilitys great, its got a nice subdued look to it. Seatings not good for a large crowd. Was seated up front for an ASO collaboration performance so sound was great, folks at the back were complaining that it wasnt.

We were here to see the Alabama Symphony orchestra. The sound was amazing, and there doesnt seem to be a bad seat in the house!

Smaller and more intimate venue. I often forget about it honestly. Its the heart of the arts at UAB. If youre looking for something to do, check out their events.
