Theater downtown is an amazing place to go for a date night. Ive seen two separate plays here and they were both great. Great in atmosphere, accommodations, seating, acting, everything. Its located upstairs in the building of an antique shop. Very cozy little venue just perfect to throw in something different for an intimate night. The pricing for tickets is reasonable as well. They also offer drinks, although their selection is limited, they are very cheap(cheap as in cheaply priced, not just cheap drinks). Highly highly recommend!

Theatre Downtown might be for you if youre downtown and you like Theatre!I really had a great time viewing the production of Bob: A Life in Five Acts here at this venue. If nobody told you about it, Im really not sure how youd know its here. Its tucked away in the upper level of an antique store. Sounds really random, and it is, but it somewhat adds to what this place is offering! Before the show starts and during intermissions, youll be able to tour the upstairs of the antique store... which is large btw! Real character, this place has.Theres popcorn and candy for purchase before entering the theater. Its pretty much a black box with stadium seating, a short platform stage and everything from sound to lights seemed somewhat rigged but fully functioning of course! You dont have to go Broadway to see a good theater performance and this Birmingham locale is the perfect example of such!This ecclectic theater atmosphere just may suit your fancy for a new evening activity in the city!

Took my sister to this theatre. She has issues getting around. The theatre is above an antique store. The theatre staff was ready for us and took us up in the freight elevator. We enjoyed looking through the antique shop while waiting for the play to start. We had some much fun. The play was wonderful, the audience was wonderful, just a great time. Go if you get a chance.

This is such a fantastic theater! Its located inside the antique store, so it already has an air of mystery to it. The actual theater itself is the perfect size - intimate and close, so that youre absolutely drawn into the show. We saw our first play here after a word of mouth recommendation, and almost immediately after ended up buying their season pass ticket. Its such a great option for date night as both super affordable as well as such a great time. Absolutely stop in for a show whether you live here already, or even just driving through; its stellar theater, that just so happens to be local!

Neat venue with a antique store on the bottom level. Small and intimate with local actors in great and funny shows. Pay downstairs. If not mistaken its$17 or $20 and bring money for refreshments!!

What a hidden gem in Birmingham. Its a theatre located in an antique store. The shows ive seen were well acted and well directed.Worth a try to see a show you may have never heard of.

Great theatre producing quality shows. Not all shows are family friendly so it would be a good idea to check before taking children.

I’ve performed here many times and have always enjoyed the atmosphere, and camaraderie that i’ve developed with others during a Theatre Downtown show.The shows that i’ve seen here range from hilarious to tear jerkingly sad and meaningful. I always trust them to put on a great season.

Great theater with wonderful atmosphere. only problem if your going to have a play in the middle of August the hottest month of the year your air conditioning needs to work.

Their production of Wonderland Wives was absolutely hysterical. I highly recommend this venue for anyone interested in community theatre!

I will go back again. I enjoyed the production. We were there last night for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. I dont know if Id be a season ticket holder yet but if next season looks interesting to me I will certainly consider buying such
