Limited free parking at trail entrance. Paid parking below at pool or above at UC Botanical gardens. Wide trails and lots of shade. Gradually up hill.

A really nice trail for enjoying the view of Berkeley and Oakland, the smell of the ocean, and the rustic vibes of the forest. It was a very enjoyable walk downhill to Berkeley everyday. Definitely better than the usual pitch road downhill, even if it takes around 1.5 hours at a normal pace. The other trail that took around 45 minutes downhill was closed this summer, so we took this route instead!

Great hike. I was not expecting the big incline at the beginning but I made it. Theres shade throughout. Parking is small but if you go early enough youll get it. Moderate traffic

A classic East Bay hiking area. The fire trail itself is just challenging enough to tire out an active five year old boy taking a nice slow walk with his friend. We didnt hike the whole trail but we walked up the steep part and had a picnic at the top.Along the fire trail are plenty of side paths and challenging shortcuts for those who like to take the road less traveled.Its also possible to cheat and drive up to the top I suppose.

The Berkeley Fire Trails is a lovely and moderate hike with especially thrilling views of the Bay Area.

This trail give stunning views over the Bay Area, San Francisco, Oakland and the Golden Gate Bridge. Its well worth to loop around to the s Skyline Ridge Trail for the best views.

Great place to for a quick run or hike. You are certain to run into fellow hikers or runners. There is also the dreadedconnecter. A 25% grade hill that tempts foolish and brave equally.

Wide open. Up and down. Sunny and shady. Invredible reward at the top. Several good shortcuts avail on google maps

Parking is scarce but the views are spectacular! If youre lucky, youll catch a noontime Campanile serenade...

Great views and good hiking

If you walk all the way up to the top of the hill, there a little platform built into a tree with amazing views of the bay. Fits two people comfortably which makes it great for a pit stop.

Love the run. Connector uphill sprint is no joke!

Although it takes a bit of time to reach the top, a great spit to hike during weekends especially in the mornings

Moderate hike with great vistas at the end

Beautiful place to hike, and the walk up is pretty neat as you get to see all the interesting houses along the hill interconnected by staircases. The views are gorgeous and the trail is not bad once you are there but gets muddy when it rains and really slippery.

Very pleasant walk, with enough of a climb to get your heart beating. Beautiful trees and views of the bay. Walk or drive uphill from UC Berkeley campus. Look for trailhead parking area past the swimming pool.

Would give an extra star if dog owners picked up their muck. When its warm its like a sewer at the beginning of the trail.

Outstanding hike. Steep upgrades at times, but all of the views are astonishingly worth it. Great place to take a date....
