Absolutely lovely park with lots of open area for any outdoor activity. I go there for running regularly. The side looking to SF is beautiful and a great spot to have a picnic. This park is a well known spot for kite flying as well.

I love any park, but I would describe this mostly as a hiking area? It is great because it is easy to get to, there are several trails, some moderate hills, and you can be right next to the shore. I like the benches and tables placed in random locations as well. It is not very beautiful, but is a good way to get outside and get moving. It was hard to get reliable wifi, so not the best for trying to work/study from the park.

This is a very large (90 acre) well maintained park with magnificent views of the bay (downtown San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge, etc). Great place for people watching, kite flying, dog walking (beware the fox tails!), drone flying, cooking out (there are specific areas with grills set up), picnicking, bike riding, enjoying nature and wildlife. A flat paved road goes around the perimeter and there are several large hills to climb as well. Wooden benches are scattered throughout the park for relaxing and enjoying the views. There are even reasonably clean Port-a-Potties available! It can be very breezy/windy so layer up for the weather and exploreCésar E. Chávez Park comfortably.

Nice place to visit with family, lots of friendly squirrels running around. Downsides to this place is the huge tent city right before the park and the road is very bumpy and rough.

Great way to see The Bay! Could use a few shade structures. Also, there are no permanent bathrooms, just port-a-potties. It is so nice to sit on a picnic blanket and bask in the sunshine while enjoying the panoramic views of both the The Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge!

My daily stroll here. There is a blog about Cesar Chavez park (90 acres) from knowledgeable birder and naturalist. I have seen hummingbirds nests, and night herons, as well as white tailed kites in their nests in pine trees in Double Tree hotel parking lot. They have fluffy chicks that look like pinecones up in the trees.

A lovely park for a family walk. Great spots for sundown. Interesting history (it was a dump site as some other areas in the Bay) and information displays also share data about animals which live around the park. You need to be very lucky to find nearby parking during park rush hours.

Nice park and sanctuary for interesting wildlife. When it is safe to do so, you must go to the kite festival. However, sometimes you can catch some hobbyists flying theirs. The winds always blowing.

Great park for kite flying. The wind is pretty consistent. The one downside is that because its a great kite flying place, everyone is there. So youre going to have a few collisions.

Safe parking on Spinnaker Way. Parking lot has people who live in their vehicles. Lots of trash around those vehicles. Otherwise, they dont bother anyone. People are just trying to survive in the expensive Bay Area housing.

Why only four stars instead of five? It’s a wonderful park, I just wish there was fencing for the dog area. Still gorgeous, just be aware if you have a reactive or fearful dog, people fly kites, planes, and drones which can cause issues.

Love, Love, Love it! Sections for dogs off leash and on. Little doggy area with kiddy pools and water bowls. Very clean as well.*** Today (9/25 around 10:40am) I saw a dog walker DRAGGING a pitbull screaming at it even grabbed it by the collar lifting its front legs off the ground! (Simply because he was trying to pull his muzzle off) The pittbulls name is Mocha. The walker was continuously saying that all the dogs are being horrible and jolting them by the leash. Also, not having control of the dogs that were off leash, one even ran up to a family and stole their food!! The mother had to tie the dog to a table until the walker came to get it.The walker had natural red hair, caucasian, was wearing a red shirt that said this is my dog walking shirt and all the dogs had red leashes.I am not sure of the company, but I really hope the dog owners see this!!

Im rating this park as a kite flying park. Thats the only reason Ive gone there, twice now. For the Berkeley Kite festival. I havent explored the whole park, I get around in a wheel chair. From what I have observed, its one really large hill, with some paved trails. Its guaranteed to be windy 365 days a year, as it sits right on the bay. Im sure the cool water coming off the bay and the topography of the hill itself, has something to do with it. Great place for dogs to get out and lots of fresh air.

Went there for a early morning walk before my second day class of wilderness first aid. My experience got hampered by the fog, which robbed me of a chance to see the SF skyline. So I went there again in the evening after my class and the experience was better, albeit with gusty winds. I still managed to get good view of SF in the evening, right before the fog covered it up. Great place to walk around, jog or viewing SF. My advice for sightseeing: best time is in the middle of the day.

César E. Chávez Park is such a beautiful little park surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, no wonder the air is so fresh around there, and it is so close to the city. I go there once in a while for a walk to change my mind and enjoy the scenery, the waves and the quietness. I would like to thank the city for maintaining this area in such pristine clean conditions.

Best place to fly kites, even when wind speed is neglible on the ground. On an actually windy day kites need extra stabilization (tie tails together if separate). On a calm day the air from the Bay and the hills create enough current to lift a kite and a kids dreams. There are usable but not pleasant portapotties on the edge of the park. Paved trails on the flats for wheelchairs, but the dirt and grass hills are good for kiting. Lots of dogs being walked. Many dry grasses that weave into socks and animal fur. Signs along the road warning about removing valuables and locking vehicles, along with remnants of broken auto glass from past break ins. None of this is unusual. Just picture this as not well groomed, with few facilities and lots of wind. Perfect!
