A beautiful, interesting place for a walk. The junipers are amazing.

Interpretive signs tell you about the Huntington trail which runs from Baker City to Bend. Notches in trees, burned branches, and well-worn trails helped pioneers find their way south from the Oregon trail. Managed by the BLM, it is an easy walk with signs and benches along the way.

Lots of fire ants hills to dodge with 2 dogs and a 4yr old. Very lacking. Only 3 signs and 2 little benches on the 1 mile out we did walk. No real views of anything other then old juniper trees. Ya I get it its a high dessert. Painted hills are a desert and there are some views.

Boring. Also muddy during the winter dusty as heck when not muddy. Hot. Too many other trails to waste time on this one.

This trail is really cool because they put up signs that tell you all about the history of the area and how the trail was used.

Incredibly accessible for people of any age, easy terrain, plenty of benches in the shade to rest. Plaques along the way narrate the history of the location.
