Beautiful trees, parts of the trail were muddy from recent rain, some going through the forest to avoid giant puddles.

Buena Vista State Forest has a beautiful drive through the woods that you can go on with your vehicle. There are no facilities and it is fairly remote. Its especially nice in the fall when the leaves are turning.

This place is wonderful any time of the year and good place for many interests. You can crosscountry ski, snowshoe, hike, go geocaching, practice nature photography or just enjoy its wonder to name a few. Its a little off the beaten track but should you be up for an adventure, its worth checking out.

Beautiful and quaint... If you need to clear your mind and unwind, or do something inexspensive with the family, this is theplace to go

I love the forests of northern Minnesota. This one has many beautiful pine trees, Popple trees and Birch. In my time walking around this Forest Ive seen many different bird species and many of our four-legged friends. Last time I was there I sat down and let the woods keep quiet around and within an hour I had seen multiple squirrels a deer and so many of Our Feathered Friends. If you just want to get away for some hiking or camping I would recommended this place.

This is a very cool place for the winter it is a ski lodge and rubbing in the winter in the fall they do wagon rides and show the fall colors very meet place

I grew up on big turtle lake me and my little brother would spend days on end fishing and dirtbiking in the state forest,our life at home was at best complicated and mentally abusive i struggled with drug addiction in my teen years and many times the only place i could find peace or relax was in this state forest
