Awesome little place to visit! Bring the family!! I absolutely loved seeing the bears playing with each other! The deer were awesome to feed and take pictures with! Wish some other animals were more active so we could see them, but overall it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend to check this place out!!
Great experience! Just the right size for our 4 and 2 year old. We loved feeding the animals and petting the deer! Also loved seeing the zoo keeper interact with the lion! It wasnt too hot out, so lots of the animals were actually moving so that was cool! The only reason we gave it 4/5 was because it was a little run down and could use some general maintenance. We would definitely visit again!!
This is a place where someone decided they want to own a zoo. So they threw up some cages, bought a few exotic animals and called it good. With the exception of the deer enclosure, the cages are too small, provide next to no natural habitat, and limited protection from the harsh MN weather. It was less than $10 per person to go in so the price was reasonable, but there is not very many animals.
I always have fun going to animal land. It is a little pricey for a big group of people, but it’s really fun to walk around and see all the animals. There’s a big area for walking around and petting deer. That’s always a lot of fun. I would recommend going here.
Our children loved it... especially feeding the deer! The bears and lemurs were very fun too. Don’t miss a chance to feed the trout!
Very cute little zoo. You can buy food for the animals. Not expensive at all. Fun feeding the deer.
This is a fabulous zoo with the ability to get close to the animals.ake sure you buy plenty of food to feed the animals while you pay for your entrance. In particular, get bananas (kangaroos and lemurs love them) along with apples and veggies. Munchies arent as popular with the animals except the deer.Bring some quarters with you to buy corn for the deer and fish food for the trout.Animals appear well taken care of.Zoo is small, but its a perfect 1-2 hour excursion. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the animals.
Our family very much enjoyed the outdoor wild life here. So, If, you want alittle Zoo life in your life make the journey here.We of course added to the experience by buying small bags of food from them to feed the animals. If, you have children this would be a place you will want to check out as mine did. We spent around 2-Hrs walking and feeding the deer and other animals. My familys stop here was well worth it and we enjoy, supporting a good business. The owner and staff were very, kind and outgoing. Great place. Great fun!
Reasonable prices and affordable treats to feed the animals. They could do a better job keeping the animal enclosers clean and there is little to no interpretive education going on here. The staff were friendly and helpful and the gift shop prices are reasonable. Its worth the trip but be aware if you have compassion for animals.
This place beat all my expectations. You think “freeway animal park” you might think Tiger King, but this place is legit. They have raccoons, kangaroos, Blackbears, lemurs, etc.... but the creme de la creme is the deer pasture. There are over a dozen deer, Doe and fawn free roaming just waiting to eat tasty snacks out of your hands more gentle than your own dog! Make sure to buy some animal treats from the front desk . $1 a bag. It’s pretty awesome. I can’t wait to come back.
The coolest part where the bears. They need to expand there animal viewing selection and make paved paths to walk on. This place is just ok to blow 50 bucks on a family of 5.
Nice for a smear zoo. Clean and shaded spots for the animals. Fun.
We’ve taken our Grand kids threw here and they loved it. We will be back this summer.Be safe.
Lions and tigers should not live in Minnesota. Enclosures for the non deer are small and inhumane.if you care about animals do not visit this place
So neat to see and feed the wide variety of animals and learn about them.
For a small town, this zoo was actually pretty good
Very nice and clean, had fun, be back next year
Fun for the whole family! Support local businesses.
Loved being able to pet the deer and hand feed them. The reason I gave 3 stars instead of 5 is the deers didn’t seem to be very well taken care of. Some were really skinny.
Should have had more anamils for the money
Fun place. Feeding the deer is pretty cool. Most of the animals were in their buildings so we didnt get to see much. But it was pretty warm. Still a fun time
They were really good the deer are very friendly to come right up to the kids
Staff was great and very helpful by encouraging some of the animals to come out of their homes.
This place is cool. Not your ordinary zoo. Up close and personal. Walk with the deer. Feed the animals.
Because I got to feed animals I havent really seen before
Visited on a whim. Nice set up and location. I was concerned for a few of the animals but overall its a nice little place to visit.
Wish I could give this place zero stars. All of the animals showed signs of abuse and/or neglect. The nails on most of the animals were ridiculously long and could be hear tapping on the concrete of their tiny entrapment. The deer all have grossly overgrown hooves to the point where many of them were limping. The deer all looked sickly, scabby, and covered in flies in addition the the ribs poking out. I went on a blazing hot 90 degree day and the Arctic foxes had not even had a chance to full shed, they looked incredibly disoriented from the heat. Nearly all of the animals were pacing and stressed out. Do not spend your money here! This place needs to be shut down for everything from animal abuse to posing a health hazard to the community!
Great place and friendly staff
The deer and staff were very friendly!
I absolutely love the place, it is very cool, lots of cool animals, fun and great atmosphere!!! kid-friendly, fun to feed the animals! Very cool that you can walk with the deer and feed them as theyre right by your side and walking with you! I have never experienced being that close to deer and actually being able to pet it m, so that was a very cool experience! I didnt even know that place was there until a friend told me about it but I am glad that they did and I would definitely be going back! There is also I like a mini shop or store you can get snacks at or souvenirs! If you havent been there I suggest that you go because you wont regret it and its very cheap!
Admission high for such a small area n should have better assortment of animals
Great for small kids :)
This place has so many animals to see and up close encounters with the deer is awesome.
Its pretty neat that you can pet the deer, but overall its rundown, and needs some work.
Wow...what a sad place:( The animals were in too small of exhibits and their fur looked horrible. I am sure from all the stress of people and lack of.... I have been to zoo’s before and this place is ten times worse. They have no where to go besides dog kennels in the middle of their area to get away from the heat! I wish I would have never gone because it honestly puts a damper on my day. I wish I didnt give them money to go see that but at the same time I hope they use my money to fix that into a better place for them. So sad.
Always a pleasure meeting with animals of various types and roaming around with them in their environment! Affordable day of fun and education as well open areas to run and play!
Very nice place lots of fun!
My 2 year old loved being able to feed the animals, some animals were sleeping but we still had a decent view of them.
Its a fun family place to go.Resonable prices on gift shop.
They have a pretty good variety of animals. Im always Leary about how animals in facilities are treated and the conditions. This place seems ok. Kinda tight on the space though.
Visited for the first time today. Some of the exhibits deserve 2 stars. Some are a little better. The indoor exhibits were such a strange variation from truly deplorable abuse to very suitable enclosures. The tortoises and snakes should legit be taken away... These people do not know how to take care of them, or they just dont care. Dry shavings like a desert, absolutely no moisture, clutter, or any environmental enrichment of any kind. Truly abusive. The burm had no hide and a tiny bowl of water he could have easily tipped accidentally, couldnt fit an 8th of his body inside if he tried. The ball wasnt any better. The tortoises were miserable trying desperately to escape, just endlessly trying to escape the entire time, thats literally all they did. No hide, no bowls, just 3 very unkempt tortoises on dry substrate scratching each others faces trying to get free. One had such an overgrown beak I really doubt it can even eat properly. The parrot was great. Some of the smaller animals were great. The review about the limping deer isnt true at all. None of the deer had overgrown hooves and none of them were limping or underweight or sick looking. There were flies, just like deer in the wild have to deal with. The arctic fox was terribly concerning. I took a video of it stumbling around. The belly is enormously bloated while the body condition remains very poor; animal moves in a dizzy, zigzag motion and shakes its head nearly constantly. Coat is scruffy and dull. Other fox looked fine aside from a similarly dull coat. I couldnt help but notice that the staple diet of nearly every animal was the same cheap dogfood, despite the varied nutritional needs of all these species. The wolf was alone, which anyone knows is torture to a wolf. The wolves enclosure was probably about 1/4 the minimum recommended size for a single large canid, Im really unsure how they were able to get away with that. The wolf had clearly been digging out of boredom, as there were no companions and no enrichment in its cage. The leopard had 0 enrichment. Nothing. A little house to sleep in, and thats it. It couldnt climb or bask or play with a rope or ball.... Literally nothing for it to do but sleep. What a sad life. The deer were well kept and had room to roam, but the fallow were freakishly skittish, which a park employee claimed is due to them being fallow deer.... News to me, the fallows at other parks are often friendlier than the white tails, being much more closer to actual domestication! The lemurs seemed content, but they were about twice as crowded as they should have been for 4 animals in a cage that size. Poor porcupine was just bored to death, as were several other creatures with no enrichment in their enclosures. Gift shop was reasonably priced, but I didnt feel right spending money knowing it isnt going to help the actual animals. Staff were very friendly, but I found myself wondering what the heck they are doing sitting around in lawn chairs when there are cages littered in droppings and uneaten food bits. If I worked there, Id be working to improve the animals living situations. Over all, it isnt as bad as some, but Im not sure if Ill be back, Im very passionate about animal welfare and Im not super impressed.
Hot day so the animals werent overly active. Cute set up, good price and reasonably priced treats to feed the animals. Love the little tubes to get the food to them. Very innovative.
This place is great! I will definitely be back with all four of my children. The staff are very friendly and love answering questions about the animals.
Did not see no bobcats, jackals, wolves, or leopards.a small Joey was in the office, baby bear cubs were playing..only one deer close by,more deer but not to friendly way in back by the fence.. thought the price a little high for what they have..the only animals that wanted the munchies were the pot belly pigs.
Had fun. Animal cages seemed a bit small and not well maintained.
The cages were very small and most of the floors were stone. The jackal and two coyote had to share one small dog house and appeared to be fed just dog food which it looks like the artic fox was also fed. The serval and spotted leopard had no enrichment not a single thing in their enclosure to climb on. When we saw the jackal it was pacing back and fro which is a sign of stress. Out of all the animals the deer had it the best but many of the deer had ribs that poked out and little bald spots with scabs. I am in no way agaisnt zoos in fact I absolutely love the Sandiego zoos but this zoo was just terrible.
Not really worth the price. Could have went to minnesota zoo an seen onto of done alot more for cheaper.
This place is amazing. Within the first minute of walking through the doors I saw a baby dear, two baby skunks, and a kangaroo just laying on the floor. There was also a baby leopard being fed right on the counter. It was an amazing experience well worth the $10 entry fee. It is small and wont take you very long to see all of the animals but they are all unique and have fun personalities. The dear petting area is large and the dear are friendly. The loner dear are easiest to pet as the pack will run and scatter. Its also best to wear shoes you dont mind stepping in some poop with. Overall Id say its worth the visit especially for kids. PS. Bring quarters.
No entrance without a mask
Kids had a great time and want to go back. They loved all the animals, but especially being able to feed the deer and pet them was there favorite part.
So much to do. One of my favorites!
Half the animals in this place can’t survive the winter. The other half didn’t eat their food. No space to run. This was animal cruelty at its finest.
Fish n deer were the most active, i believe the animals were overfed, they werent excited the least for our boughten goodies..
Good place good people. Cute animals
Drove 2 hours here bc of Google maps saying it was open. No its not. Memorial day to labor day.
Always fun time here.....
There are some pretty cool animals here for the size and location of this zoo. Im not giving it 4 stars because they need to get the public feeding under control. The bottom line is that its a great atmosphere for kids and the cost is very affordable for most. I would recommend scheduling a visit.
Very nice little zoo. They care for the animals and love to share them with the public. Its an older zoo, but every year there are many upgrades made.
This place is horrible to their animals and the place is just all and all horrible
Animals looked so well feed an healthy.noce set up..treats for animals reasonably priced .tickets to get in reasonable.
Kiddos had a great time.
You get to be up close and personal with the animals it is very nice.
Was better when they had a monkey that would throw poop at people!
Always a neat experience. Love the deer experience, getting right up to the deet and and feeding them right from your hand.
Great place to go to. Love the end when you get to pet and feed the deer.
I got to hold the baby kangaroos and meet the other big guys. Nobody else could do it but it was so much fun to get to see some exotic animals. The people there are so nice and loving too.
This cannot possibly be humane. Pretty sad experience overall.
Great friendly staff, very ingormitive and kind. All animals in great health
Kids love this place. For adults? Eh. Its rough but theyre some cool animals and kids are able to feel some, pet some, and watch others.
I wondered how they got so much animals and the variety is good. They also sell snacks for animals that you can feed them woth
Fun place to take the kids!
Wasnt happy to see the Timber wolf Pacing. He seemed to be stressed for being in a small enclosure.
Use to be a great place a few years back but has really gone downhill lately, very few deer compared to a couple years ago.
Was ok, a nice little stop. Small cages. Not really a sanctuary, they buy their animals. No rescuing.
Kids had a blast. But the animals seemed like they should be in bigger cages.
Had a vehicle pulling a trailer, cut from the on ramp all the way to the left lane right in front of us, we had to slam the brakes to avoid the collision. No tail lights on the trailer at all, no turn signals, brake lights, and it came to a crawl in the left lane. Turned out to be a Paul Bunyan Animal Land vehicle (thanks for the graphics). Your lack of care towards the safety of others, and not bothering to have a legal vehicle is directly reflective of your business. It worries me that you are responsible for animals that require vigilance and care. Tried to call you to let you know, but you dont seem to have a number the public can use to get ahold of you for complaints or emergencies, it hangs up on the caller after a brief message.
Very cute little animal land my 5 year old loved walking with the deer very nice friendly
The experience is fun for the children but, as an adult, I am concerned about the small, dinky enclosures for the animals. I am sure they are visited often by agencies responsible for licencing such places and nearly all of the animals are all of appropriate weight and size. Their eyes are bright and they seem healthy and active. The deer park experience is always a favorite for children. However, the grounds are overgrown in many areas and appeared to have a great deal of burningweed which makes it hazardous, especially for children, as the weeds are tall.Animals included a leopard, male and female lions, porcupines, pigs, prairie dogs, monkeys, camels, trout pond, deer, kangaroo, and racoons. Inside are a variety of other, smaller animals in tanks and cages as well various educational and informational items. You may purchase corn and veggies you feed to the animals from the lobby or use the quarter machines outside which dispense dog food and cereal mixtures for the animals.
Sweet place to take the granddaughter
Expensive for how small this place is. Takes about 20-30 mins to get through maybe. The enclosures are very small and a number of them provide no shade for the animals and were extremely tiny with nothing to keep most of them busy. The foxes appeared to be sick, one without a tail and the other with open sores. Also, the weeds were not cut back and my son walked into some burning nettles that stung his leg. The only positive would be that my kids enjoyed feeding the deer. Perhaps they should only keep the deer, which had a. If enclosure, and return the rest to bigger zoos that take better care of them.
Not the biggest zoo we have been to. However, when you can put a smile on my teenagers face that doesnt involve a phone. It is a win for us!!! My daughter could have stayed there all day with just the deer.
A great mix of animal many of which you can feed. A gem that everyone should see!
Great owners and fun time. Even make me friends
It was pretty cool. The animals were pretty neat.
Fun place. Love the deer!
Overpriced, but kids liked it. Its a bit off-putting that they have lions and tigers with such seemingly weak fencing.
Nice place. Nothing much to say
Little zoo with friendly deer and animals you can feed
Poor animals
Our little girl has gone there every year for her birthday! Its what she looks forward to for months up to it!
Added many more animals, been there many times and enjoyable everytime.
