We hit this trail for the first time yesterday. As everyone else has mentioned, its a fairly steep ascent for the first 1.6 miles. If you are out of shape or have other issues, you might want to try a different trail instead. The trail is narrow in spaces, but its well maintained and there seem to be fewer people than on some of the other trails.Once you get up a bit, things open up and there are some great views and other trails that connect into this one. Its worth the steep hike .
Steep trail, wooded surroundings. My kind of hike. I ran parts of it up and down while my 11 year old constantly complained. Can I trade mine in for a more energetic version?
Great hiking trail, parts running along a creek. Steep trail is a workout, but getting to Pine and Cedar lakes at the top is rewarding.
A good hiking and running trail. From the trailhead, its a steep climb for the first mile or so before the incline drops to more reasonable levels. A fast hike will leave you winded and make the legs a little sore. A couple of little running streams on the way up, so dogs dont have to go long. without access to water. At 1.7 miles and ~1500 ft of elevation gain, you reach the Hemlock and Pine &Cedar main trail which is mostly level and on which one can actually start running. Go right (west) and head up to Raptor Ridge or connect with other Chuckanut Trails such as Hemlock, Huckleberry, and Lost Lake. Can easily tack on 10-20 miles. Go left (east), do a loop around Cedar, or head over to Pine and tack on a couple of miles in that direction. Graveled parking lot at the bottom. Porta Pottie too.Just hide your valuables and lock your car. There have been break-ins from time to time.
Fun but STEEP trail, the first half mile is all up, our 3 year old soldiered on, but I wouldnt recommend it for younger or inexperienced hikers. It was a cold and wet January day so the scenery was rather bland, seems like it would be very nice in spring and well shaded in summer. We didnt quite make it to the lakes as we ran into snow at about the 1.5 mile point and just werent equipped to continue with the kids in slippery conditions. Trail was overall well maintained, muddy in some places. Year-round creeks had bridges, we had to step over some seasonal drainage.
Beautiful hike under lush forest canopy. First 1/2 mile or so has a steep grade. Doggo friendly.
The trail to Line and Cedar is UPHILL. Right from the get go you have to hike 1.6 miles up the trail, which is very steep. You only get a few parts that are flat. Definitely recommend taking the loop around the lake and the overlook!
Not for the faint of heart
Great place to go for a hike great views does not want to take little kids there cuz its a little bit of a hike
Steep hike, great workout, views at the top are worth the trek
If you like hiking and woods walking, this one is a nice one, very steep for a mile or so, average difficulty there after. The area has an oddly enchanting feel compared to the other areas around that I have been too. There is tent camping up top from what I saw, but I did not look further into it. Enjoy.
Great hike to the lake to watch dragon flys mate.
My favorite local spot for some nice uphill action
Great hike after you get past the uphill punch in the gut
Great coupons and sales. Wide variety of items. Clean store. Nice deli.
So Beautiful and a great way to get your heart up a little bit
Its a great trail to get in a quick workout, challenging due to the grade, very wide. The lakes at the top are pretty neat, and really peaceful.
This trail gives you access to an amazing ridge line. The ascent is pretty brutal, but it is pain worth enduring.
It seems pretty well maintained, but I walked for over a mile and it was simply uphill, so not as beautiful and interesting as i like for my hikes, The parking space is very nice though.
No joke crazy uphill hike to some nice secluded lakes at elevation.
A nice short hike with backpacking camp spots. Broken glassin the parking lot... be careful!
Pine and Cesar lakes are beautiful and the hike is a little strenuous but doable for most people.
Steep, well maintained trail provides access to the entire Chuckanut system. Dont leave valuables in your car.
Very beautiful trail, very challenging hike. Very steep incline from this trailhead.
Great Hiking Trails up to Views. Toliet in the parking lot.
Great hiking up to a remote lake. camping is actually allowed for free.
Always a good steep hike for the first mile and half. Great for conditioning yourself for a more difficult one.
The hike up through the lakes is quite hilly but absolutely worth it.
Long and somewhat difficult hike with many beautiful payoffs. The start is 1.7 miles uphill from the parking lot though, so bring water and be ready.
Great hike if you like STEEP!
Watch out for breakins
Beautiful and stunning place to go
Worth the hike
Best hiking in the low lands!
Its nature
