Nice park with a hiking trail that go all the way up to Belmont Lake. Nice fishing area but heavily pressured. Witnessed two girls doing a clean up. Great work ladies!

Beautiful scenery and pretty smooth parts of the trail for roller skating! A lot of the path is too bumpy for it but between sunrise and where you end up next to bethpage parkway is great.

One of my favorite places to bike ride. Not challenging or long. Shady and cool in the summer. Very pretty especially in Summer and Fall.

A gorgeous lake to walk laps around with a mini island of birds in the middle. Lots of ducks and birds, with a the nature trail nearby.

Any nice day, it gets pretty busy there. A lot of people park to walk the trails or use the tennis courts, so not overly congested.

Great spot for some fishing :) went out opening weekend and had a great time, very friendly people and some pretty fish!

I grew up playing in these woods. Very safe. Some good trails to walk through. You can walk from argyle park north all the way to Belmont park through the trails. There is an equestrian center about halfway through so you may see some horses. Nice to ride a mountain bike in.

Very peaceful, tons of trails, great place to just sit, walk or even fish, I enjoy walking my dog there, you can ride your horse provided you have one, the lake is large and plenty of fish, there are benches to sit if tired or just hang out, you can not get lost so dont worry, you can even ride your bike here so go out and enjoy or get some exercise in

Excellent park to walk, jog, run, ride bike, walk your dog, ride a horse, fishing, there is a tennis and baseball court. If you like to connect with nature you cant miss this place.

A quiet wonderful getaway close to home

Love the pond beautiful place but lately to many loose dogs on the trail. People do not observe the leash law. Makes it uncomfortable for others who do obey the law. Tickets need to be issued

Its a beautiful spot for walking or riding a bike and they allow dogs. There also is a a horseback riding stable close by.

There isnt a great deal here, however it is a beautiful spot to walk, run, ride your bike, or just relax and enjoy nature.Dogs are allowed. (On leash.) Motorized vehicles are not.Some people come here to fish. Some fly model airplanes.Most people just come to enjoy the natural beauty.Bring your camera! :)

Very nice trails- easy to walk, run or bike. The only frustrating things are that a lot of people don’t clean up after their dog or leash their dog! dogs are frequently running up to my dog who is luckily good with other dogs. I know people with blind dogs or dogs who are not good with other dogs in their face who can’t walk the trails with their leashed dogs because other people are too irresponsible to leash their dog. I really wish they would enforce things here so everyone can enjoy the trails

Im giving this 4 stars because its a very nice place for families with young kids to explore. Also a great park for runners, walkers, etc...but I withheld a star due to the amount of garbage along the trail. This trail needs a community clean up day.

A great place to go on a Sunday morning

Southards pond is one of the best bits of nature in the area and the trails go for several miles north toward Belmont, so you can stay in the wooded setting for as long as you need. There is a little garbage around, and names are sometimes scrawled on trees with spray paint or knives, but on LI we cant really have nice things. Still one of the best parks around.
