My husband and I have always loved taking our boys to the Duck Park. Our oldest is 11 and our youngest is 3. We love that the money paid to get food for the animals good back into the park. My husband grew up in Limestone County and has come to the park since he was a child too. I fell in love with it the first time he brought us 11 years ago. Very beautiful.

Beautiful place to sit & reflect, feed the ducks & have a picnic! Please dont litter & dont allow your children to chase or harass the ducks.

I like big spring park its got a pretty scenery and a good place to go and relax and see Christmas trees at Christmas and see ducks all year round

Always a pleasure going to Big Springs Park. A beautiful fall day. Watching the wind blow the leaves across the manicured lawn. So peaceful. One of my favorite places to visit.

Very nice but small. Good for a short walk or picnic. Has several coin operated machines for feeding the ducks and fish. But sure to check out the old gas station across the street.

We love this little park. There is plenty of space for kids to walk or run around, the playground is not huge but kids love it, and the duck pond is so fun for the kids. 1 quarter gets you a handful of duck food. Sit on the bench or tables to eat lunch or just relax under the large mature trees. Pretty park!

We enjoyed our visit. The trees provide nice shade. They have installed duck food vending machines on either side of the spring. The ducks really enjoy the snacks as well as the koi. The cost is .25 a handful. We will definitely be back.

Ive been taking my Grandkids there on warm days for a long time but I went by in early December this year and all the Christmas trees were so beautiful. Its a great place for kids and adults.

Fairly small park, quaint. The pond has koi and there are ducks all over the place. The tennis courts look well maintained and the pavilion is nice.

This place is our favorite place to go on a Sunday afternoon in Athens. Lots of ducks that you can get close to while feeding. My little one loves it.

This place is always clean and a nice place to just relax and feed the ducks. Its safe to bring your children to the playground as the equipment is very well maintained. I frequently bring my nephew here.

Been going there since I was born. Always been a decent small town park. The little events for the kids are always fun too.

Loved this place growing up as a kid. Love watching the Fish and Ducks.

Nice pond to feed ducks and fish. Take quarters no change machine when the kiddies want to feed them. Kids played in water that was flowing over the little fall. Nice pavilion. I do wish play equipment was covered, was alittle to warm to play on in afternoon.

Its great if youre looking for a nice, fairly quiet place to feed ducks, grackles, and robins while you relax. The playground very close by, so you can easily walk between the two if you take your kids. There are also restrooms, benches, and a large awning to sit under.

My son and I go here daily. We love to feed the ducks and watch the ducklings grow into geese. He feels like the duck pond is a magical place where our community gets to enjoy itself all the time!

The park is beautiful and conducive for playing. My 2 yr old daughter had a wonderful time running around in the clean play ground, sliding, swinging and chasing ducks. I highly recommend this place to parents or families for a quality time together.

Would rate higher but the bathrooms are awful there are no stall doors or inside lock on outer door for privacy. I asked about this and was told that every time they do put them up people rip them down almost immediately. Other than that its a nice peaceful little place for a little bit of duck feeding, bird and squirrel watching and for LITTLE kids to play.

Nostalgic feel to hometown America park. Ducks are as comfortable with humans as fellow ducks. Very clean with covered picnic area, bridge over flowing stream, duck pond with water fountain, play ground, luscious green park with adjoining tennis courts. Perfect spot to make lasting memories

Place to feed the ducks and have birthday party. It has play ground to. Theres feeders there to get food to feed the ducks.

I enjoy visiting here when Im in town. I often grab a burger and take time out to enjoy the scenery, children playing, and people feeding ducks. I think that it is a great asset for Athens.

Its a nice place to spend a little time with the family but some people just dont care about keeping it clean! Wish pond was cleaner its a little nasty looking. Could definitely take a vleaning!

Needs more lighting at night and more APD trolling through because there are a couple questionable people that hang out there. Always watch your surroundings.

Park is fun for little ones, with feeding the ducks, plus playing on the swings and slides. Unfortunately, sometimes there are questionable people who park in parking areas and dont get out of their cars.

Currently under construction but the place has made great improvements. they have duck food and a book cabinet now. The construction workers are very friendly too.

I was in Alabama visting my dad and stepmom and we were looking for local civil war sites and stopped here to see about getting some information about any battle sites. I noticed some construction work going on across the street and decided to go and take a couple of pictures of the red dirt which is more of a clay and dirt mix. I was also able to get some of the genetically engineered grass that grows there, it creeps acrosd the top of the dirt very different from the grass we have here.
