Love History. Know of this battle or squirmish of the Revolutionary War. As a former volunteer of the Concord Museum and the Waltham Museum, I knew all the battles were not fought only in the cities of Lexington and Concord. I have not gone here to this site, Jason Russell House, but as soon as I can, I definitely will. (Have to wait until this trying time will be over.) This is the most under-told story of the first day of the American Revolution! Jason Russell was a brave man who stood up for what was right against Tyrants echoing the sentiment of James Otis Jr.14 years earlier with the words An Englishmans home is his castle.This is true American History at a pivotal moment! The staff is knowledgeable and the site beautifully preserved.

There is ample parking and a small fee for entrance but the guided tour and the site are absolutely awesome and highly recommended. This is the location where most of the Patriot and British casualties occurred on April 19th 1775.

I am Howards wife, Carolyn....maiden name is Russell.....I am a DAR member with Jason Russell being documented as my ancestor. I have been to the Jason Russell house several times. It is a living part of our history..well worth the visit. Members of the Arlington Historical Society were very knowledgeable and very friendly.

Key stop if you revisit the events of April 19, 1775. Avoids crowds and gets the harrowing story of the most intense skirmish of the day.

Take the guided tour, and learn lots of stories about American history. At $5 for adults a very reasonably priced adventure.
