Bird Point is a favorite spot along the Seward Highway for anyone who wants to take in great views while learning a bit about the Cook Inlet bore tides and Beluga whales. The walkways and benches make the stroll easy for all ages and abilities. The area is a great place for photos, picnics or parking your camper overnight. The railroad runs along the border of the park making it a fun place to spot the train. There is ample parking and there our restrooms as well. Don’t forget to pay at the fee station.

Nice place to be for a small while. There is a small trail but over all a cute seeing. Roads are one path for each way.Good area for site viewing and pictures.

Amazing views! Highly recommend a visit if you are in Anchorage.

Bird Point is just outside of Anchorage and it a very beautiful and peaceful place. There is a bike trail which will take you all the way to Girdwood.

Whoever made the signs here deserve a raise! Great spot to pull over and check out the marshes - bring a bike if you can

Nice little scenic spot off the side of the highway. Gives the puppies a few minutes of new scents to sniff and a few minutes for us to enjoy the view.

This place has cool signs and a look out point with telescopes! Super cool! The views are spectacular! I definitely recommend doing it here!

In the 90s, this was our favorite evening too for a quick campout. When they widened the road, they installed a tastefully done park but it really changed the flavor of this special place right in the highway. For one thing, your can now hear the highway traffic, everywhere. And many of the tiny trails that wound through the tidal grasses and over and under the hemlock boughs are too overgrown, even for those of us who like to bushwhack. So sad. Bird Point still boasts magnificent rocky outcrops that vein the mud flats - its an amazing outdoor gymnasium if youre careful - and great bore ride viewing. Spider Island still comes and goes with the tide. But still.

Beautiful place to visit!

Ive been to Bird Point a number of times and its always peaceful before the summer crowd rushes in. You feel so close to the Turnagain Arm as you look out. Youll also learn about bore, which are break tidal wave that stretches the length of the arm 2x a day and traveling at 6 to 24 mph. Its the ONLY place in N. America to see it consistently. There are restrooms here and a gentle walkway for people living with disabilities.

A nice stop for a view, a walk, and bathrooms.The turn to get into Bird Point is a little quick, so keep your eyes open. There are restrooms here. Plenty of parking for all size cars and RVs. The area has some interesting reading and spots to view the water and flowers. If youre lucky youll see the Alaska Railroad Train pass. Excellent mountain views.

Good place to stop for a rest

Beautiful stop, such a great vantage point to gaze out into Turnagain Arm, or use binoculars to see sheep or bears on the mountain side, grab some amazing pics. Just really awesome.

Beautiful views, good parking, nice short walks on wheelchair accessible paved areas and short to epic hikes from trailhead. Informative maps and illustrations for learning about the area. Outstanding for locals and travelers. Dry but clean toilet facilities. Close to Anchorage.

Stopped here for the first time in many years and had a blast. What a tremendous view, especially if you catch the bore tide. And whatever you do, dont hike down to the inlet. It is posted No Trespassing by the Ak Railroad. But it looks like it would be a perfect place to go - if you could...

Bird Point is one of the all-time best places in Alaska to visit and explore except there is no trailhead to the best spots due to locals and State Parks wanting to keep it off-limits to the masses.
