Great easy trails with variable terrain. My favorite neighborhood oasis for when I need a taste of nature but dont want to battle traffic. You can get 2-3 miles without too much repetition.
Hour long hike in a cool shady wooded area. Put a public restroom out front and a water fountain and 5/5.
Love this place. Paths are well kept and there’s so many to choose from that every visit is a new adventure.
Nice hidden trails, Up!
Great trails for riding and hiking. Not very toddler friendly though. But all in all a very nice wild place
Top notch facility and staff. i go every chance i get. dry sauna/swim/hot tub = new me.
Why do others insist on making this place a broken glass factory. I am concerned about my dog cutting open his paws.
I really like it, there are different programs or sports that your family can try, like swimming, skate or hockey, also there is a gim and much more.
Nice place
The trails extend much further than expected. I went for a short walk and ended up spending a good amount of time hiking. Nice park.
Surprisingly beautiful trails tucked away in an unexpected location.
Scenic views of the Potomac, Historic Fort Hunt and beautiful homes, GW Parkway!
Beautiful trails, simple, not industrialized.
Wide, extensive historic grounds; highlight was the guided mansion tour, including a scenic view of the Potomac; no photographs allowed in the house; had to wait a while in line to get in on a rainy Saturday; there are scheduled events at the outdoor area on the Potomac end of the property (wine/dine evenings, etc.)
A perfectly secluded get-away with dirt trails and stream-crossings. Dont get lost!
The park area looks beautiful, but we did not spend much time in it. We were there for the tour of George Washingtons home.
Wide open dog park. No shade, which is disappointing in the summer, but plenty of water for the doggos
Woods trees leaves eagles trails
This location has beautiful, fairly well-maintained wooded trails, but they are not well-marked and as far as I could tell, there are few if any posted maps. There are some elevation shifts that would make it challenging for any but the most rugged of jogging strollers. As a note, you can park behind the Mount Vernon RECenter (southmost space, also behind the library) to easily access the trail system.
Recent high winds toppled several trees, blocking some of the dirt paths. There is also a paved path along the edge of the park that is convenient to the library and Rec Center.
Good place. good experience
Good trails if youre close
Great community park
Mt. Vernon Park is by the water and the trail runs from WW Bridge to Mt. Vernon. Awesome waterside scenery.
Didnt know about this park..kinda stumbled upon it while walking through the neighborhood..great views, very scenic!!
Unforgettable
Great parking
