Our plan was to be snowbirds. Neither my husband nor I want to go back home. We are making this our year-round home. The summers are HOT but everything else more than makes up for it.People 55+ loving life and having fun.
Went for a bike ride around the court. Very nice quiet and beautiful. Well maintained court. Rick does an awesome job keeping things up
Did my research as not all parks are “pet friendly”. So we decided to stay there. We were going to have been there for 5 months but only lasted a month. Thank goodness we didn’t have to pay for the whole time upfront. When we checked in we made a point of asking where you were allowed to walk your pet. The people in the office and they were the managers told us anywhere in the park as long as you don’t go into the memorial park or onto residents areas. Oh and please pick up after your pet. Got it....most of it is common sense. All is good for the first week until one day my husband was walking our Miniature Schnauzer and a gentleman in a golf cart is driving towards him shaking a piece of paper asking had he read this. Finding out what it was he said yes (rules as to where you could walk your dog). When he told the gentleman that we had also asked at the office to make sure and told him we were told anywhere except the memorial area and residents area. This gentleman told my husband we’ll see about that. As we were going to be away for a few days we stopped at the office to let them know and also to ask again about where to walk the dog and what had happened with this gentleman. Again we were told they would check into it. When we got back about 4 days later there had been a letter sent out to everyone regarding where you could walk your pet now. Option 1 was from your unit to the dog park and back or Option 2 from your unit out of the park. Well the out of the park was fine in the daytime but in that area you didn’t want to be out when it was dark. Fine and dandy they had a canal area right beside the park but the gentleman who live right across from us was walking his dog there and it was attacked by 2 dogs. One other thing walking the dog in the park was also a great way to meet the people that lived there. People there very friendly except for one. So we spent a day and drove around Yuma to find a “pet friendly “ park and we did find one. So if you don’t have a pet “Friendly Acres” is fine otherwise you may w@nt to go somewhere else.
Yes, Friendly Acres is friendly! The pool is small but there are two spas. Lots to do. Walmart Neighborhood Market right next door. Major hospital 15 minutes away (excellent care). Mexico about 20 minutes away.
You cant walk your dog in the park. Its mostly trailers. Its located in a dangerous part of town, and under airport flight path If you make a reservation and change dates, lose your whole deposit. Best to stay away.
The best rv park in Yuma, Period. Great staff, clean park, amazing activities and friendly residents.
Twila McGowan sure does brighten up that Beautiful little Senior ParkLovely people Lovely place
Cozy and quaint park. People very friendly. Park models are old but well maintained.
Nice clean Park
Older park and it shows. Friendly acres is a good name, lots of friendly people, its funny how a couple people standing and talking in a drive way can quickly turn into a pot luck. People just show up with Food and Drinks.
Advertised Wifi, but it was only available at the office or clubhouse. Advertised cable tv, but each site had to order their own from the cable company. The trailers were crammed in between permanent residents. Laundry was inexpensive and the showers very clean.
Like family, Clean and very friendly. Slept under the trees by canal. Loved the hot tub and pool area. FUN!
