I called and tried to book a later tee time. They told me that 10:30 would be the next available tee time and then proceeded to hang up and call me back telling me that the earlier parties did not show up and that we could come on down. We showed up paid and then got our carts. They told us to play the back nine first. We proceeded to tee off, then the employee stopped us and said to us we were playing too slow and that we were tearing up the green and told us we would need to play it in about two hours. The green was in poor condition before we started, and there were plenty of patched spots. We promised to play faster, and then we moved onto the second hole played through it and teed off for the third hole. This time he came onto the course on his golf cart and told us again we were playing too slow. We told him that we talked to the party behind and said to them that they could play through us. This was not acceptable to him, and he then decided to berate us regarding the fact that we only brought two sets of golf clubs. There was not an option to rent clubs, and we were visiting from out of town and did not bring any. We had enough and decided to take our refunds and leave.

I would give this zero stars if I could. Staff was terrible to say the least. We had a new golfer playing with us and he was constantly being stopped by managers saying that he was playing too slow. (We were about 15 minutes in on the 3rd green on the back nine). So really, we were running a little fast. They ended up kicking our entire group off.

Just tried playing with a new golfer and they told us we were backing up the course and so they kicked us off. Absolute insanity.

Played the course today and couldn’t be happier. Very reasonable price and the course was in great shape. Tee boxes were a little hard, but it’s summertime so nothing out of the ordinary. Food was a little pricey but everything tasted great so no real complaints.

I would not recommend this place. Poor service and staff harasses people.

Unquestionably, the best greens in York County, and amongst the best you will ever play. They are consistent and roll true. The fairways do get hard when it is dry due to the lack of irrigation, but who doesnt like the extra yardage obtained? The rough is lush and manageable. They space out tee times properly so the pace of play is great. The restaurant has amazing food and the service is awesome. This place is one of the best values out there. I cannot say a bad thing about the course, restaurant, or the employees.

The course was in really good shape compared to last year. The greens were nice and you could tell significant efforts are being put into course improvements.

Lots of dos and dont at this course: Dont play slowly, dont forget your tee times, dont be black........

Played 18 holes here. For the price its plenty good. Layout is a little tight but interesting. Not many copy holes some unique ones. We played a 3 some in 3 hours. Staff was friendly. Good mix of easy and hard holes.

I came into this course with high expectations. I was almost catfished by the pictures put up of the course online. The tee boxes were very atrocious, the fairways were barely fairways, and the greens weren’t bad, but were very very slow. But Ill be damned, those greens did roll true and were nice (WHY CANt YOU MAKE THE COURSE JUST AS NICE). Also, the cart paths were so bumpy and went through terrible muddy areas. Overall, dog shit course, I will stick to golfing in Lancaster from now. The best bang for your buck on York is Cool Creek in Wrightsville. It is much cheaper and in better condition.

Ive never seen such an unprofessional operated business even down to its owner. I was invited to play at both courses on Fishers Island NY . And let me tell you. The people there were very very humble and down to earth. Its an actual ranked course! The wealthy people that live there were so generous and very personable. Even sat with the owners and chatted for a while. I will never go to Grandview Golf club ever in my life. If the owner is so aggressive as he is . To walk up and try to intimidate a group of women, mind you have not broken any rules. I can only imagine how the rest of the experience would be

My Dad and I love golf and he’s 80 now. if someone approached us on hole 2 about his slow play and called the cops on us then and a second time at hole 9 I’d be really really F-ing mad! Never heard of the cops being called for slow play.. 40 year golfer here. Shame on you. Would not take the chance with my Dad, never will we play this course.

Poorly maintained course for the price... the greens are wildly different depending on weather conditions and nearly impossible to predict. the staff are aggressive. nice weather still had a decent round but wont go back.

Absolutely awful experience here. The management reeks of racism and are incredibly, rude, condescending, and unprofessional. If youre a person of color OR sympathize with the empowerment of disenfranchised minorities, please take your business to any of the other fine golf courses nearby.

Please spend your money elsewhere as this is a very racist golf club. It is really a shame the way the co-owner Jordan Chronister treated the five African American ladies. This is 2018 and the way this establishment is run is a disgrace to all Americans. I recommend trying other golf courses in the surrounding area!!!

I made a tee time with 3 friends and then I saw that they dont like black folks on the golf course. Made me sad, but theres other places to play that arent racist so were going there.

I want to give a shout-out to the friendly staff at Grandview. As an event planner, I work with a lot of places and they are happily willing to do almost anything you ask of them. If you are looking for a beautiful room with character and a great nostalgic covered patio overlooking the golf course, I would suggest you check them out. It is definitely one of the most beautiful places to hold an event in the York area. You really have to see it to believe it. The food is excellent also!

This place advertises a great golf experience but what you’ll get is poor customer service and crummy holes. You can tell they are just trying to squeeze every dollar out of the course without having to renovate it.The workers at the club house and food service looked and acted like they hated their jobs (probably because they do). Not treated very well.I was set to play the first nine but only made it to the fifth because my experience wasn’t great. Grass is crappy and so are the greens. There are better courses nearby to go to.

Had a blast on this beautiful course with my nephew for his birthday. My sister-in-law had a wonderful time being our driver and caddy. The staff were fun and made my nephew feel like Tiger Woods.

Checked in. Man behind counter was ok with us being a litte late. We just moved back a few spots. This is not Augusta national. That being said we had so much fun. Few spots we had to wait because other groups to close for our group to hit. Still made good time overall. Its been 10 years since i played. Exactly what we expected plus proshop guy was so nice.

This course continues to duck legal proceedings related to owner Jordan Chronisters abusive behavior towards a group of black female club members. Unless and until they fess up and remediate this blemish on the game is place to be avoided.

Jordan and J.J. Chronister need to fire themselves. They are doing the most to revive Jim Crow. Wasting taxpayers and police time and resources because a group of black women were playing too slow (despite a golfer who was behind them confirming, “Not one time did we catch up with those ladies.” He described them as nice and professional. -source New York Times)??? And then J.J. has his WIFE call the women golfers to try and smooth things over (only after the Chronisters despicable racist behavior went viral) - pathetic, unprofessional, and lets be honest, calling the police on innocent black people is directly meant to humiliate and threaten violence on them for simply doing activities that white people do everyday.

Course is not irrigated, thus fairways are without much grass & hard. The greens are excellent, fairly fast & roll true. You must allow for roll on all shots. Most holes are fairly straight with only a few doglegs. Only 2 or 3 holes have water hazards. 1st few holes are parallel fairways & fairly tight so straight tee shots are required. Biggest issue is no practice range for warmup.

Great pizza. Great service and was able to still hold a conversation with someone.

This whole course, with the exceptions of the green is a rough course. No, not hard just every fairway feels like playing out of the rough because of the decision to not cut the grass. Hitting a ball in the middle of the fairway but still losing it because the grass is too long. Not mention the pro shop guy running out to fuss at us for not playing with a certain twosome who had just teed off while we were still 20 minutes early. Not going back here, even if it were free.

Average Course. Every time I have played at Grandview the pace has been tortuously slow. Nothing puts a kink in your game like waiting an eternity for the groups ahead to mosey on through for each shot. The greens are usually nice, but the fairways could use some attention. If the pace of play werent so slow, I would visit it often.

Grass is long off the fairways easy to lose your ball

We have hosted a baby shower and a surprise anniversary party at Grandview in the past two years, both events were perfect! The food selection was great, the food itself was really good, and the service at both parties is exactly what you would like for an event. The ballroom is really nice, it has just been repainted and the bathrooms were redone too, so everything looks (and is) fresh and clean. Oh and there is a ton of parking next to the ballroom, which is nice when you have a lot of older guests (anniversary party). Lastly, if you have your event when the weather is nice outside make sure you have a photographer because the outside pictures are AMAZING! With the golf course in the background or the building itself, our anniversary party pictures turned out fantastic and the setting is really pretty. Dont hesitate for a second, Grandview earned our business and we will be happy to turn back to them in the future!

Even the police officers rolled their eyes at the golf course owner after being summoned to the golf course via 911 to kick African Americans off the course. What a pathetic organization.

Never have an event at the grandview. they completely ruined my wedding, served raw meat to guests, served food an hour late, said they could hold 100 people more like 60. I missed all my special dances because of the food not being ready. the staff were sloppy and rude to my guests. Totally terrible!!

This place is very rude and inconsiderate. We followed the rules of golf, and they didnt even ask us to play through. They called the police (911 and not the nonemergency line) and we didnt even break the law. DO NOT GOLF HERE!
