10/10 this turkey might be recycled but he is pure gold
Downtown Woodstock is a fun area, Bob The Turkey is cute and a Pokestop!
Woodstock is a great little town with Bob the Turkey being a part of its history. Bob the Turkey is immortalized in a bronze statue located inconspicuously in the town center. While Bob doesnt define Woodstock history it does epitomize the down to earth quaintness of this people oriented upscale town.
Cute little statue in honor of local turkey.
I remember Bob... I cant in good conscience give Bob five stars, because I used to work in downtown Woodstock in Bobs heyday. This bastard would block traffic, which is already horrible on main street, making me late for work on several occasions. Bob didnt mean any harm by it, I know (which is why hes getting 3 stars), but I definitely dont miss the days of Bobs infamous logjams.
Hes pretty cool if youre into idols. Hes definitely the best one in town. Wouldve given 5 stars if he was a little more lively.
Its Bob the turkey
Most exciting attraction in Woodstock
Any know sex and if so, wheres the beard if hes a dude...
Poor bob! May he Rest In Peace.
Bob the Turkey was one of two wild turkeys that use to strut around town back in Woodstock when Woodstock was farmland. I know cause Ive lived here since 2001. In fact the duo was so popular that the local police department would have officers stop by checking up on them and stuff...the exact date as to when Bob and his mate showed up is not clear but Im guesstimating probably around 2009. Believe it or not there use to be a group of wild turkeys that roamed the grassy area around the Woodstock library and they werent afraid of people either. Theyd walk right up to you...all 4 feet of themselves and act like theyre going to hustle you for a bit of cash...it was hilarious...I remember hearing from one of the librarians at the Woodstock library that Bobs mate was hit by a car sometime in 2010. From then on Bob would hang out at the area where he last saw his mate-around where the welcome to Woodstock sign is now on Main street.I use to work near Canton Rd and remember seeing Bob every evening hanging out on the side of the road in front of what use to be a horse farm-now a cluster home development. It was sad but touching to see that he faithfully waited for his friend everyday until some moron hit him with their car....in Jan. 2012The statue is by local artist Bruce Weinzeth and is a touch tribute from a city and its citizens that will miss our favorite street buddy....I should note that wild turkeys like Bob dont mate for life meaning they usually reproduce with lots of other females...the stud muffin...But what a male wild turkeys often will do is team up with another male-for protection over a larger more aggressive dominant male and they will attract a female more successfully if there are two of them...so mostly likely Bobs friend was a male friend not a soulmate as we had thought to believe at the time...sorry if Ive destroyed someones memory of our turkey boy....
Idk about bob in downtown Woodstock but i has one over where i lives in Roswell and he was the og so yeah this must be his long lost brother R.I.P.
