Well kept and marked trails. Of course, The fire tower is the star of the show and totally worth it. Short hike to get there. Couple of really cool scenic overlooks too. Really high up.
Great course. Perfect for my skill level.
Nice easy trail with slight incline that leads to fire tower that has a great view if you climb the stairs to the top. Beautiful cliff views all along the trail. Tower is well maintained and safe. But be careful if you have children around the base of tower. Lots of broken glass from people throwing bottles from tower. Orenaug Rd. entrance is what we used, but has limited parking. Senior Center entrance off Rt. 6 has more parking, but not sure if hike is harder or easier from there.
Fantastic hike up to fire tower. Disc golf as well.
Nice disc golf course. Its short but fun. I can play a round on lunch break and work on my short game. Worth checking out if youre in the area!
Beautiful place to hike and get a scenic view of Woodbury from the fire tower that stands at the peak of the trail. The Orenaug Fire Tower was built in 1911 and was the lookout for fires within the Pomperaug River Valley, it stands 260 feet above Woodbury’s Main Street and 520 feet above sea level.Orenaug is the native American Indian name for the trap rock cliffs.
Short hike to the tower. It does keep going but it was too busy the day we went
Very hilly and well marked trails with a few nice overlooks
Nice easy trails
Its a nice beginner course and well set up...
Entrance to Park is accessed along the shoulder of Park Road, Park LANE is a private dirt road with no park access, dead end road. There is a small pond with a fountain and a small dirt shoulder to park on. The entrance is by the sign.
Orenaug Park is an excellent place for hiking and overlooking Woodbury. It has great trails through the woods where I take my dog for walks, and it has very beautiful views closer to the top. A bonus is that the Woodbury Fire Tower is at the top, and so you can get some great photos from the top of that. It is a wonderful place to get outside and enjoy natures beauty.
Good little trail with a cool climb of a fire tower. Enjoyed
We had a great hike here with some Scouts. The trails and views are best and the fire tower is a big surprise. The only downsides is the trash near the tower(it looks like the local kids hang out there) and the graffiti on the tower can be inappropriate. In a small town with a limited budget there probably isnt much they can do. If you go bring a bag and pick up a few items and we can make it better together.
This place is great for a hike. Beautiful trails along a cliff with amazing views. Climb up the fire tower for an even better view for miles over the valley. Look hard enough and you just might find a geo cache.
Excellent View!
Great place to hike and hang out.
Nice place
Awesome view
Sharp uphill trails but scenery beautiful and isolated
Nice hike if you can make it to the fire tower.
Trail is not too difficult, view is GORGEOUS from the top of the fire tower!
I never been there
Good and rustic
Lots of fun and height sickness
