Large, outdoor dog park with plenty of space for your pups to run. They have a small field for smaller dogs to romp in, and two larger fields that they alternate between for the larger breeds. A Lyon Oaks park pass is required for entrance, which is the only negative of coming to this place.
Amazing dog park! Very large and people who visit this location are nice...hell even if you dont own a dog and just want to play with dogs its a good place to go, but the regulars that show up are friendly and their digs are too. Once in a great while you do get the bad owner who brings a dog who doesnt get along with other dogs but still decides to bring the to the dog park, but over all it a good time for humans and dogs...if you love dogs like me you will have a good time...I know most if the regular dogs names but none of there owners names...so that got to say something. One tio thought, if you want to play/have your dog play with other dogs, come around 6pm, that is when I see the most dogs start to show up.
This place is soooo nice. Worth the drive
Fun for our dog, he.loves all the interaction with other dogs. People are very friendly.
Love this place. Just wish some one could poke in every half hour or so to make sure people pick up their dog waste and to monitor dogs that arent really park friendly. With my last GSD he loved the park more than anything. As he got older ( 8 and up) he started to no longer like other dogs as much. He became annoyed and his demeanor changed so I had to stop taking him. I wish more people would realize when their pooch isnt social, regardless of age.
Love bringing my 4 year old husky here. He loves it!
It is a great dog park lots of space friendly people and dogs
People seem to have a difficult time picking up after their own pets!
I didnt go to the dog park so I dont know
Clean. Friendly people who bring friendly, non-aggressive dogs.
There are 3 separate sections to this dog park, 1 for little dogs, and 2 for big dogs. Each section has plenty of space and there are always other dog owners around to keep even the most energetic dogs entertained.
Small dog area, with woods, and a very large Large Dog area. Dont forget water and a bowl! But everyones pretty cool about sharing if you forget. Well worth the $30 a year for a park pass for the year! Trails too if your dog prefers walking with just you.
Perfect place for me because cricket ground is right next to it. Well maintained park.
Lorge park well set up. Section for large dogs and small dogs. Shade pavilions are clean. Lots of bag dispencers and trash cans. Lots of dogs. Does cost to get in but worth it.
Good doggy fun most of the time with occasional snarls. People are mostly nice too. Remember to bring your own water and bowl - public ones have been removed to prevent spread of disease.
Nice clean park for dogs. My dogs love going here. Nice people. There is a small dog area and a huuuuuge big dog area. Covered seating area for shade or shelter. Water fountain in the non freezing months. Potty bags and proper disposal on site. No key fob or tags required but pets are expected to be up to date on vaccinations.
Always a ton of mud. Pretty decent size park with pavilions and a water spigot just outside the fence to clean off at least when they inevitably get muddy. The people seemed to be pretty cliquey and rude each of the several times weve went here. If your dog doesnt like the mud and you dont mind walking around instead of being in the pavilion with everyone, not a bad place to go.
Nice dog park. 2 yards for all dogs and one for small, under 25 lbs. Yards were being mowed. Some folks didnt watch their pups very well though. Seemed fairly clean. $5 to enter county park, noo extra for dog park. Pet friendly trails nearby too, though LOTS of mosquitoes. Bring your spray for you and pups. No mosquitoes at dog park.
Very clean and pretty park. Great place to take your pup to play and meet some down to earth fellow dog owners.
I love how huge these parks are, they really allow for my dogs to stretch their legs. Ive only encountered good people and nice dogs here with my 2 big dogs. I love that they are gowing some more trees in the middle of the park, that will be so nice once their bigger. People need to clean up their dog poop along the edges of the park! So lazy!
Not sure about humans but dogs love the park
Great people and great dogs. For most part the dogs can run and play with each other and the people stand around and talk to each other its a really nice combination. There are puppies 6 months old to 12 year old. I am glad it is here.
Finneganthecardigan! Went dog running!
Great place. My English shorthair pointer loves it. They take great care of the runs. Highly recommend this dog park. But always be aware of other pets/owners for your dogs safety.
Fun place, far larger than most off leash dog parks in the area. My only hope is that they expand in the future to include more wooded areas. Nice to be and to get your hound into the brush and not have to worry about getting them back.
Trails are nice and theres a large dog park
Great place to have your dogs socialize with other dogs. They even have a place separate for little dogs.
I love this dog park and so does my dog! Made many canine friends today.
My little dog loves this place! Recommend you get a yearly pass
Cool park, but I highly suggest making a “medium” sized area. Our dog got lunged at multiple times from the bigger ones while we were standing right next to her. The dog owners here don’t really have oversight on their pets, which made us leave after less than 10 minutes of continuous bullying. She got bit and humped within 2 minutes.
This dog park is my absolute favorite! The amount of space provide for the large dogs is perfect. There are two pavilions for the dog owners to sit & observe their dogs if youd like. The dogs have room to run like you wouldnt believe! The only downside is that after a good rain storm there is an area that accumulates with a large puddle of water & Ill strongly advise to keep your dogs out of it as best as you can! It smells rancid, and your dogs will be covered in smelly, nasty water. Also, owners must bring their own water because there isnt a hose provided. Gallon jugs work best! I come to this dog park as often as I can, and I live in Taylor!
My dogs love this place. So much space for them to run!
This place is great to bring your pet dog.
Perfect place to take your 4 legged friend and meet new ones
An amazing location to bring your dog if you’re in the Walled Lake/Wixom area. Plenty of space for your do to get ALL of their energy out. A we maintained park that has a separate area for dogs under 25lbs. I also have met lots of friendly dog owners. It does cost $5 to enter the park (for Oakland residents) or $30 for a yearly pass. Totally worth investing in the annual pass as there are other amenities like trails and soccer fields within the park. Lots of communal bowls for your pups just bring water to contribute! Two different pavilions as well so you can still get your dog out on rainy days. Thankful to have this resource!
Best dog park I have ever seen! Lots of room to run and very clean.
Amazing dog park! Always have extra bowls for water, and a place to get some at the front. Grounds are huge, and even split into small and large dog sections. Sometimes its muddy, but some dogs love that.
This park is a very nice place for dogs. I totally recommend going here IF your dog has all of his or her shots. I say this because there is always a lot of ticks and mosquitoes when in the season. You do have to pay to get in, but if I am going to be honest, there is never really anyone there in the late summer/fall season. This place is awesome, really large park, lots of parking locations. Lots of little nooks to hangout in for a wonderful summer day or if you want to go for a nice run or bike ride. However I was here for the hidden gem - Lyon Oaks Golf Course, the course is located towards the back of the park, features 18 holes and a full equipped practice range.
There is a ton of space for the dogs to run, but the park is small enough that you never lose sight of your dog. Both of the large dog runs tend to be flooded and muddy for 24-48 hrs after a rain storm. The weekday crowd is a pretty consistent bunch and the dogs are usually well supervised and friendly. However, on weekends, the park tends to get crowded with a lot of nervous, unfamiliar dogs.
Awesome place! Always clean and poop free!
Very nice. Small dog area and two large dog fields that they alternate on being open.
Awesome park, always lots of dogs. Some times muddy, so dress accordingly.
They need to pave the freaking parking lot. Its a gosh darn mud swamp anytime the weather warms up from cold to nice. It wasnt even any rain for 2 days and the parking lot was still an absolute mess. Who approved this??
Great place for the dog to run, lots of nice dogs w/ their owners. Oakland County could do better on maintenance of park though.
Great place to let your pets socialize, typically well mannered dogs there. Separate section for small dogs (under 25lbs) to play on there own!
Liked the facility and the surrounding metropark overall. Couple of concerns with the dog park. There are no water outlets here so be prepared to bring your own. I came from Ann Arbor and just wasnt super impressed. The dog park was pretty muddy and could have used some landscaping to improve that.
Clean and well cared for...let the dogs run
Very nice place to walk & exercise your dog. However, there was a large dog that lungedAt our dog on the large dog side. Small dog side was ok. There is a charge for the bark park however, it is kept up, mowed.water,Poop bags. Lots of area to run.
My boyz had a great time...
I love this park. Theres plenty of space. 3 gated areas, including one for small dogs.
I take the dogs I pet sit to this dog park. Everyone is very friendly and the dogs have a lot of fun! Take a towel for the river!
They keep it mowed and have free poop bags. It’s just a shame that so many dog owners don’t clean up after their charges.
Pit bull training grounds! The last five times we have went there, there has been some pit bull owners there, one with a shock collar and one with a harness on their dog trying to socialize it.Its behavior keeps escalating until it is ready to bite and then the owner finally hits the shock to call off the frenzied, blood thirsty dog.I have purchased a season pass in the past.I will never go back there again. They already have a small dog area and a large dog area, I propose a stronger dog area, weaker dog area. Bully breeds should be in the strong dog area. Now have fun with your socializing!!
Awesome! So helpful and organized as we qere planning our daughters wedding. Highly recommend. Had the gardens on patio all trimmed, weeded ans beautiful. The park pavillion for the ceremony had fresh mulch and gravel. Just beautiful. Thank you, Lyon Oaks!!!
Awesome place. Though I wish they would install wells out in the fields for water
There are 2 areas here: one for small dogs and the other for large. We take our puppy here to the large dog side a couple times per week. There is plenty of space for her to run and its a very welcoming community. We have never truly felt that our puppy was in danger from other dogs there.
I love the park, which is great for your dog with the fenced in areas. The sports fields are pretty good too (soccer). I do not however like the cost of it. I would like to know exactly where the money is going before i pay for any park.
Awesome
Clean, fun place for the pups. Met nice people too
Lotta good dogs here
Large space and pretty well maintained.
Huge space with lots of friendly dogs. Always a bit muddy though
My dog loves this park... Its very clean and the dogs get along splendidly.
Large open fenced area for dogs to run in
So clean and spacious. Very well taken care of. I like how there is a seperate section for the small dogs.
Great place to bring your dogs. Just make sure theyre well-behaved!
Not as nice as Orion Dog Park. Unfortunate that you have to pay to get in.
Huge dog runs - 3 in total. 2 of them are for the larger dogs and the third is reserved for small dogs and puppies, which in itself is fairly large - about 100 x 100
Good dog park
Nice clear paths, not that much foot traffic, and visible to the road at points. It is fairly lonely though as there not a lot of visitors
Great public course! One of the best in the area! I highly recommend! Challenging but fair!
Big dog park. Clean and in a great area
The trails here are great. I enjoyed walking off the trail. Make sure you wear orange if youll be going off trail.
It was fun
If you have a dog, or want to watch dogs, come early in the day and have fun.Love this place
Travelers Beware! Pay-to-enter park, another area where we must pay money for our dogs and ourselves to enjoy the outdoors, a right we were born with which has been stripped away.
The park and trails are really great. Found a lot of neat mushrooms and plants. The skeets are ridiculous though. We had to leave and go get bug spray it was so bad.
My dog loves coming here. Well maintained.
Spacious, well maintained.
The place itself is really great, the other dog owners are very disrespectful and forced us to leave after 10 minutes of bullying.
Very clean spacious plenty of dogs and everyone is very friendly
Tranquil setting with large trees and few nice soccer fields. Home if the CW3 JAGUARS!
Nice groomed grass great people and dogs
Very challenging layout with 130 slope rating ang higher.
Lots of room for the dogs to run
Solid park
Big, grassy, fun
Beautiful place
Love this place
Love this dog park!
Ex eligable gym
