We did the Wonderland room. Lots of detailed puzzles, GM was super helpful if we needed assistance along the way! Super clean facility, everyone wore masks and gloves. My family will be back to try all of the other rooms! Awesome experience all around, and very affordable for all 5 of us to go (they even give you the promo code for a discount when you book right on the website)! Jay was wonderful, highly recommend this place!

We had a great time with Bank Heist! The game master was fantastic, knowing we had two 10 year old girls with us she made it extra fun! The room was very clean and masks were required which was awesome for us! We finally escaped but took us to the last second!

This was our first experience doing a room escape. We selected the bank heist. We were a little slow getting started but quickly got into it. It was so much fun. I would highly recommend Room Escape Williamsburg. Beatrice was so helpful explaining everything. Already planning on another visit to try a different room.

My family and I did the Bank Heist 2 escape room. It was very enjoyable and complex. We didn’t finish it on time but that’s okay.As far as COVID safety, the area looked clean and well kept. Mask were enforced and gloves were provided (which was a nice touch).Jay (our guide) was helpful with clues during the game but a bit condescending towards the end while explaining what we missed out (I’m sure the clues are obvious when you see them every day).Nonetheless it was a very fun experience and would highly recommend!

This place is great! I did Bank Heist 2 with 7 family members in the morning...and we had so much fun. It was a little cerebral for the 7- and 12- year old nieces, so we came back that same afternoon and did North Pole PI. Another clever room perfectly designed for a smaller party and younger players. Many thanks to REW for being so flexible, accommodating, and especially for all the things you did to help ensure our safety! Can’t wait to do another one in October when I’m in town again!

We had a blast! We did the Alice in Wonderland Escape and it was amazing! It was my husband, our 2 daughters (ages 11 & 14) and myself. This was our first Escape Room experience ever and we cant wait to do it again and try another one. The Alice in Wonderland stayed true to the theme and was challenging. It was great to work together as a family and there were things for every one of us to work on to put the clues together. The staff was wonderful, very knowledgeable and friendly. Great job guys! This was our first time doing an escape room and we absolutely loved it! We chose the Bank Heist 2. It was just the right amount of challenging and we completed it with 2 minutes to spare! The staff was extremely friendly and overall, it was a great experience. We will definitely return in the future!

This is the second time we have been and it did not disappoint. My wife and I and 4 others did the Bank Heist 2. Some of the puzzles were very challenging. We started of really fast but got bogged down about two thirds of the way in but finished with about 4 minutes left. Will definitely go back!

Went with my cohort for team building and had a blast. The Godspeed space adventure was great. I just wish we had the Star Trek uniforms for our room.

We had a great time. We did the Alice in Wonderland themed room. It was just the right amount of difficult. It was our first room and the couple we didn’t know was also newbies. Everyone was great. We really had fun and the staff seemed great we only saw them a short period of time. It’s the people your in the room with that really makes the experience I think. Really fun!

My boyfriend and I love escape rooms. We came here twice in two days and worked with both Amanda and then Olivia as our game masters. Both girls were incredibly sweet and accommodating. They were super helpful when we needed it without giving anything away or being too pushy with the hints. The rooms were very fun and the puzzles were really cool. I would definitely come back if Im ever in the area again. Thank you Amanda and Olivia for making this such a fun experience!!!

I love escape rooms and Room Escape Williamsburg provided a great experience both times I’ve visited. The rooms gave me a challenge which I love in an escape room! The workers were professional and helped my group when needed. I will definitely go back to see their new rooms!

Went here as a team building experience with some co-workers. It was challenging, fun, and def built a bond! We loved it so much we came back again. The staff was friendly and if they were judging us as we asked for hints, they hid it well. Lol

This was my second escape room and the first at this location. It was definitely a different approach to escape rooms - a lot more intuition and trial and error than following clues. We made it out, but barely! Amanda, our game master, was so awesome and made the experience really wonderful. She made the difference for me between a 4 and 5 star review.

I participated in my second escape room at this location with some of my co-workers and we had a really good time! The room we did was a bit challenging, but it was awesome to use communication (and lots of humor) to try and escape. The staff is really helpful with clues if you get stuck too!

My daughter decided for her super 17 bday she wanted to do something different. Room Escape in Williamsburg went above and beyond accomadating our large group. The staff was patient and the facility was so amazing! The teens are still raving about the Bank Heist room! They have plans to come back and try all the other rooms. They has so much fun!

Michael was a great game master! Really great interactive rooms! You got to try the Holy Grail and Return to Wonderland. Pretty cool rooms!

We played the Holy Grail room today and it was really great. My brother and I both work at escape rooms in the RVA area and we always enjoy going to other companies and playing their rooms. I highly suggest this location. It was very clean, well put together, the staff was awesome, and most importantly the room was great. I feel bad that I can’t remember my game masters name but we ran the 12:30 Holy Grail on 4/7/19 so to the game master who ran that room, if you see this, you were great! I would totally suggest this company to friends and I hope to come back soon to play other rooms!

Edit 10/10/19:We were recently contacted by thiermanager, Amanda, and told they are under new ownership. Since we were in the area we took her up on the offer to check the revamped company out. We did Save the SS Godspeed and had a really good time! It was a fun and challenging high tech space adventure that we both enjoyed. Amanda was also our GM and was very receptive to us and provided excellent clues! Really glad this company has changed for the better.Previous review from 2018:Waste of time and money. We did the bank heist, which ended up being a copy of a copy of another room Ive done, so I knew most of the puzzles. Set design was dirty, unkempt, and worn. There were a few red herrings and the surprise room didnt function correctly. At one time the group I was with wanted a hint and we had to wait 5 minutes and leave the room to find the game master to get one.

Ive never done an escape room until tonight. It was super fun even though we didnt get it... my girlfriend decided to put us on the hardest room...

Wonderland was a fantastic room! It was creative, fun and challenging. Even our 11 year old guest had a blast and was able to help solve the puzzles! The clues were just right. Cant wait to do SS Godspeed!

I didnt really have an interest in Escape Rooms but some friends asked us to go. It was so much more fun than I expected! The Holy Grail room had really cool props and puzzles to solve, and we actually succeeded. Staff was helpful and the room was very well maintained too! Definitely recommend as a group outing.

Our party of 5 went as part of a bachelor party and we did the Godspeed mission. It was a lot of fun, with the challenges well balanced for the time allowed. I think we had about 1:30 left when we finally escaped. The gentleman running the operation was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. It was a great experience all around and one I look forward to repeating.

A great time with very nice staff. The puzzles had a discernable flow and werent too hard or too easy. Cant wait to try the other rooms.

We enjoyed holy grail and the staff was good, but bank heist 2 was disappointing! Too confusing to solve the puzzles... I like to have a chance in escape rooms without having to ask for so many clues.

My first experience at an Escape Room and even though we didnt make it out in time, I had a blast!! I would definitely go back!! We did the Wonderland room and it was hard, but we were sooooo close!!

The Alice Escape room was extremely challenging but we enjoyed the experience. We did have some issues with the magnify glass having sticky residue on it and did leave with some black residue on our hands.

Had a great time in the Wonderland room. We ended up having a room with others that had done it before so it went fast. That being said the management went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied offering a refund or a free go at another room. We felt we had a great experience either way and declined the offer. We will definitely be making the trip from Virginia Beach to Williamsburg for any time we want to do an escape room!

Have done many rooms and this was good but too many unnecessary tasks. I have done over 20 escape rooms. The one we did is difficult but we made it.

This place has a variety of tooms that challenge your thinking and patience. It was fun going with my group and I would love to go back and do it again.

Didnt like that when i called to get information, the man who answered (jake?) told me to just go to their website.

I just did the Bank Heist and it was SO bad. Definitely the worst, most ghetto escape room I have ever done. Heres why:(1) The employee who put us in the room did so with ZERO introduction. We didnt even know what our objective was. I ended up leaving the room to speak to someone else because I knew something wasnt right. (Turns out there was some vital information that we werent given, including that our objective was to steal some diamonds).(2) The room itself is very bare, and most everything in it is in bad shape. Papers are torn. Sheets with clues on them are so worn down over time as to be made illegible. And so on.(3) For the most part, the puzzles themselves do not require cleverness so much as fiddly, annoying busy work. (Get ready to spend 5 minutes pushing something through a long tube 1 centimeter at a time using only the worn nub of a pencil; or another 5-10 minutes scanning some dizzyingly massive boards for a single, tiny missing number.)(4) It turns out the second/final room requires 3 people. They didnt bother telling us that when only two of us (my wife and I) entered the room.(5) No worries regarding point (4) though, because it turns out the second room hadnt been reset properly, and the diamonds were just sitting there in an open drawer! We were very confused when we found the diamonds, because there was still at least one lock that we hadnt opened elsewhere. When we voiced our confusion to the camera (timer still ticking away), they were just like, Youre done. They then congratulated us for solving it without having to do the last few puzzles, as if their error was a bonus or something.I would give it 1 star because several of the above complaints are pretty unforgivable, regardless of my experience in any of the other rooms. But, the thing is, Ive also done the Holy Grail room here (and with different staff on duty) and that one was actually pretty fun. So, 2 stars I guess...

After going to multiple escape rooms before this, we were pretty underwhelmed. The clues were either far too easy or didnt make sense (to which the employee couldnt even demonstrate how to solve it). If this is your first time you may have a good time but in comparison to other escape rooms this one lacks fun and creativity. Not worth the money, whether you escape or not

The escape room itself was good. We were told that we could have our bags locked in an office while in the game. However, while we were in the game the employee went through my wallet and phone. We confronted the employee about it and he denied it. I found proof on my phone bill that he had been using my data during the time we were in the escape room. I was told there is now a sign posted that they won’t hold onto your bags, if that’s not true I would recommend holding onto your things or locking them in your car or better yet finding a different escape room.

Did the Wonderland room. Puzzles were ok, but the room looked worn down and unkempt.

Don’t waste your money here. We are very season at escape rooms and wonderland was by far the dumbest most frustrating room I’ve ever done. The employee was a complete waste of them. The clues given were worthless. Nothing worked the way it was supposed to. Won’t be back. What a shame. We love escape rooms and would have loved to spend our money doing the other rooms.

This experience was not at all what I hoped. It was worse than the Atlanta Falcons blowing a 25-0 lead in the Super Bowl. The only pleasant part was one of their employees named Suny. He was a gentlemen and tried to make it as entertaining as possible. I enjoyed him a lot. Would not recommend and would invest your money elsewhere.

Friendly staff and well designed room. Couldnt ask for anything else. Family friendly rooms, so bring the kids.

I had such a great time at Escape Room Williamsburg! We did the Santa Room, Bank Heist, and Aztec Room. The Santa Room was definitely my favorite, but I loved them all! 10/10 would recommend!!

First time doing a escape room had a blast Time flew by. We tried the Holy Grail it was fun. We didnt make it out there was only two of us if there was more people we could have made it... maybe. The young lady that was running the room was alot of help and was really nice. If we visit Williamsbug again we plan on doing another room. Great experience.

I have been to several escape rooms and this escape room does not measure up to all the other escape rooms. Typically, the employees would let you know if you came up with the wrong answer so you are not wasting your time. However, we spent the last 15-20 minutes on a clue and where having trouble because we got one letter incorrect. The time ran out and there was an entire other room with clues to solve but we missed out on the experience because the employee didnt re-direct us. I questioned the employee as to why he didnt let us know one of our letters were wrong and all he could say is that he couldnt hear everything that we were saying because of music playing in a different escape room. Extremely disappointed and would not recommend this experience.

We did the Alice room. Pretty much all the clues were in the last room, which was very confusing and hectic. Usually in escape rooms if youre having a lot of trouble the game master will redirect you, we didnt have any of that. The clues were also not very helpful. This was also the least immersive escape room Ive been to. I understand not having as much money as other places, but the price shouldve been $15-$20, not $25. Wont come again. Save your money for other escape rooms!

I did the holiday themed room and the aztec temple room both were amazing. Try to beat my high score on the aztec room! -11:47 remaining on the highest difficulty!
