This is a tough hike better for people in good shape. Climb is difficult, but doable however the views aren’t as good as other climbs in the area of the Moraine. Probably a better hike in Fall when there is less foliage and you can see through the trees better.
I was there on July 13, 2020. The hike up was very steep. Not at all senior friendly. There was no trail maintenance and so there were weeds draping all over the trail (perfect for ticks). Once on top, there was no view at all. The trail appears to continue on, but I followed down the north side of the hill and it just got worse and worse with overhanging vegetation. So I turned back. This trail should be closed unless the DNR puts in some effort to maintain it.
Eight at the edge of a lonely road, easy to get to. Quite a challenge to many, the steps are steep at points, and there are a lot. But if you can make it up, absolutely worth it to see the view. Also close to several other nice paths with varying difficulty. Fishing close by. Printed pamphlets in the box for a quarter.
Hella lotta poison ivy, maybe try in early spring instead.
Not much hiking but a nice view from the top of the bluff
Great little hike up to the top.
Ive been hiking up this Bluff for years
Great SNA area
Parking sucks!
