Restrooms open. Looked like bubbler might be turned on. Not much to see since they on drawing down the water. Did see 2 box turtles sitting on pipe. And some big dead turtle floating by some rocks. In hindsight should have taken picture of it. 08/23/2020

Great place to go sledding! Hopefully the lake will be swimmable next year too. The playground is nice for the kids and theres decent blue gill fishing after the dam in the creek. Hopefully after the lake is cleaned up we can get rid of the geese, they poop everywhere when they stop for the summer and its a real nuisance. Keeping this review at three stars because of the geese.

Trippe Lake Park is a really nice place to visit. There are nice walking trails, pavilions, and playground equipment. The lakeside is lovely and offers plenty of areas to pause. I went on a Tuesday, and I was the only visitor besides the cross country runners zipping through. The area appeared to be well-kept as well.

I grew up swimming here and when it was still open with life guards. They closed it done when the lake was contaminated with E.Coli. It got contaminated by the Hawthorne Melody milk factory that once sat across the creek from Trippe Lake. I believe it had something to do with the old pipes from the old factory which was either running into the ground under the Lake or just in the lake I cant remember for sure. Anyways from what I know today is that it is safe to swim in Trippe Lake now and that they never did reopen the Lifeguard/Food Building which did have 2 Bathrooms with Showers and locker room. I take my kids here from time to time and share my stories of the town I grew-up in and the Lake I swam at with my friends and family. Also tell them there use to be a metal slide in the water and raft that was in the middle of the lake. I recommend this area for all families old and Future ones to come visit Trippe Lake, and make new memories also to share yours with everyone you love in life.

It needs a lot of improvement in order to be a nature walk. Needs more native species of plants, but it has potential to be a spectacular place

City of Whitewater really needs to put some new strategies in place to clean up Trippe and Cravath Lakes. Spending 4th of July celebration on Cravath Lake front - stinky swamp, is not my idea of fun! Not to mention the goose sht everywhere!I realize the stream that feeds the lakes and Whitewater Creek flows through cow pastures and fertilized farm fields. But there has to be something that can be done. Whether that be weed collection boats 2-3 times per month - whatever.Clean it up! Residents deserve clean lakes and streams!
