When West Haven beaches switch to residents only I spend my lunches in the back parking lot. It’s a cute little shaded area. I often see birds I don’t typically see in my travels. That’s a nice treat. The only negative is the Porta Potty can get pretty ripe during the summer. By ripe I mean it stinks 100 feet away.

Great location, ample parking great pavilion, and electricity. We had an awesome day.

Very big park with lots of options but the wood chips remain wet for a long time. It is a popular park do it is usually pretty busy. Recently the gate has broken and not as secure if your kid is a runner.

Always a great experience. It is a great to have access to a wonderful playground.

Not far from the beach, great place to have the kids unwind. Clean and classic castle style park.

Took my friend’s kids here (ages 6 and 3) today and we had a blast—perfect size playground, and has a tire swing too. Highly recommend checking out

I came across this park the other day.  They have so many picnic tables and parking.  I was really impressed and happy we stumbled across this one.

Nice place for family cook out. Large pavilions. Very clean. I had a great time. Of course you must rent the pavilion and clean after using.

We have about annual staff picnic here! It is a little oasis in next to some tennis courts, kids park, and nestled amongst a small copse of trees. I love it!

Good concept for playground but its limited. Goos things are nice shaded place and Parking is available. Only one porta potty. No changing station. Small tight spaces for kids but parents cant access them if they need help or get hurt. Dirt and mulch floor

Absolutely love this park! Its clean has a gate that can be closed to keep the children in and has picnic and park benches. Its like a giant castle with lots of cool features that you dont see very often in many parks.

Since they redid the wooden park out front, Painter is amazing and kids are always there having fun there.

Big play ground area for kids. There is also a smaller park in the back for smaller kids to play next to the tennis courts. They allow you to have birthday parties there which we have had at The Pavilions which is really nice in the summertime. If you like outside grills bring your charcoal because they also have grills. Theres a variety of a sport areas such as tennis courts, a soccer field area, and a basketball court. In the summer time you can sign up your children of all ages to either attend the camp through painter park or to be a certified counselor. Painter Park Park and Recreation is a great center for the West Haven community and its families.

A bit slippery when wet, but we not only had lots of giggles with old and new friends, but we went home from this great fenced in playground totally muddy and happy!!

Playground structure is super fun for kids and well shaded for summertime.

It has multiple fields for baseball soccer. Painter park also has a playground for kids. Im the summer there is also a camp there

Sad little park. Small fenced in play area in one section was cramped. Picnic area didnt have garbage receptacles. Trash was all over the place. Someones tire was slashed.

I really liked this park it is definitely one of the better parks in the new haven/ west haven area. My son had a great time and there was so much to do there.

Awesome park for whole family. Has tennis courts, volleyball, baseball and more. Close to the beach and some of the famous seafood restaurant in West Haven

Best playground around. Looks like an Ewok village. Separate areas for big kids and little. Completely fenced in. Lots of play items that arent normally found. Recently redone in 2016 thanks to the local Lowes.

The kids have so many things to play on. I truly like that it is gated and the children cannot reach the latch and get out. I like the wood instead of the plastic that most parks are made of.

Painter Park has a nice atmosphere to it with lots of courts for you to play different sports. I played tennis with a friend in one of the courts, and we had a great time. There are tables to have picnics on and soccer fields to play on.
