The north parking lot is the shortest path to the viewing tower. (make left when you come to the boardwalk. Its shortest without having to cross the boardwalks). It takes about one hour round trip from the parking lot to the top of the tower and back to the parking lot.Theres benches scattered along the walking paths. Theres a clean restroom located across from the viewing tower.
Gorgeous and serene. A true hidden gem. I took a 3 mile walk and saw at least a dozen different species of bird without even trying. Gators grunted at each other from the marsh and a brown bunny hopped along the sidewalk. There are plenty of benches for you to stop, close your eyes, and take in all of natures sounds. There was not much pedestrian traffic when I went and, from previous reviews, I suspect that not enough people know about this gorgeous plot of land. You almost forget where you are, though the sound of dogs barking from nearby homes and helicopters flying in the distance keep you grounded. The observation tower is worth the jaunt but the boardwalks were the best part. Look over the edge to find turtles, a wide variety of fish, and perhaps spot a young gator. There are some bathrooms which are better-than-average port-o-lets. The one near the observation tower had no working lock and no hand sanitizer when I went. This preserve is among the very best in the area. I highly recommend it!
My wife & I rode our bikes through the park. Enjoyable bike ride!
The most magnificent park. Only in Wellington would we have world class horse paths around an Everglades setting....
If you like to walk this place would definitely take it out of you very lovely place to visit
Make sure you bring water and maybe an umbrella especially if youre sensitive to the sun because theres not a lot of shade.I saw many animals while I was there. I saw a snapping turtle, several brown bunnies, blue birds, red birds, herons, mockingbirds (but of course thats Floridas state bird), and many other small creatures.
Great place for a walk, run or bike ride. We enjoyed our walk there were numerous bird species, fish and turtles. The water is clear, which makes seeing fish and turtles easy. It is a little far west but worth the drive. No animals aloud on the paths.
Beautiful plantings throughout, rapidly maturing. A lot more shade than just a few years ago. Never a lot of people here when Ive visited, so peaceful and relaxed. Good for families with baby carriages since there are easy paved trails throughout.
Beautiful preserve area for all kinds of activities. Take the Green Motion segway tour. Great guy and it was a lot of fun & knowledge.
Such a beautiful place, sadly one of the few left unspoiled.
Lovely place to escape from the hustle and bustle. I like riding my bike on the perimeter equestrian trail. Lots of native plants, birds. Peaceful and quiet.
Great place for a family day or a quiet solitary walk.
This place is epic nice for long walks or bicycling nature every where.
Great place to go take a nice walk and birding spot.
Awesome place to learn about wildlife, plenty to see and hear. We love coming to see the sunset here.
Nice walk for all ages! Lots of wild life, fish, birds, turtles, and even saw 2 gators.
We did Green Motion Segway tour.Park is beautiful and large. A lot of wildlife and a 70 tower to go up and look out over entire area.Loved it!
The tower is worth the trip. Lots of waterfowl and a nice asphalt walkway.
Very nice walk through the marshes. Lots of birds. Especially liked the boardwalks.
I tried to go back after their grand opening a few months back how to bet experience gave it another shot, but now Im old for 3 and getting a burger cooked medium rare, all three came out well done I need to hire better Chefs that know what theyre doing but my buddies Burger was spot-on so after sending my burger back again they finally got it right, but Ill try them again down the road hopefully Ill have a better experience great atmosphere though great place to take your kids if your car buff youll love it until next time
Amazing space packed with wildlife and native Florida landscapes. Saw our first Gator and Racoon in the wild here on a a fabulous segway tour plus loads of beautiful birds and butterflies and dragonflies.
Nice walk this morning with the cool breeze. We didnt see many birds. Walked for 45 minutes and also didnt see many people on our walk. Beautiful here, surprised there were just a few walkers and bicyclists.
Nice walk around the reserve over 2 bridges and up the tower. So many different birds, gator, turtle, fish, etc.
Beautiful location - bring your camera with telefoto lens - plenty of places to take pictures and see wildlife...
Very quiet, lots of birds to see, great observation tower. we rode bikes, very nice.
Great biking and walking trails. Both paved and hardpacked dirt. Lots of serenity here. #8^)
Just gorgeous, well maintained. A place to sit and enjoy nature at her finest.
This is the best kept park in South Florida. Beautiful gardens and expansive wetlands.
Nice morning walk! Lots of birds flying and nice breeze made an enjoyable time.
Great place for a walk or bike ride. Beautiful views, wildlife and more.
Best Sunsets in Palm Beach
Dont go here, leave it for us locals!!! Nice place for some peace and quite!!
I loved coming here. The path ways are so clear and the scenery is nice. Nice and Quiet and great views. Only thing I hate is the drive there I live closer to Boca :(
This park is so beautiful! So much to see, and a great place to get some exercise in a relaxing environment.
Enjoyable area. We expected to see more wildlife
Best place to go with the Family... bike rides and walks
Serene setting for bit watching and get back to nature
Always satifies! Great for Outdoor photography, Walking, biking or just a place to find peaceful moments. Easy walking on cement pathways and wooden board walks over the water.
Beautiful! I am going back soon with my children. They have to see this wonderful place...the birds, butterflies, and plants! It is awesome view from the tower.
First visit and so nice to walk
I live in the city and I love to come here and get away sometimes! Its a very serene environment.
The wild life and beauty of the place.
This place was amazing but they need to put signs to tell you which way to go for the boardwalk. Me and my husband followed a couple that walked on a horse trail I found out. The horse trail does not lead to the boardwalk. The horse trail was really nice. Beautiful sunsets and lots of nature. I want to come back for the boardwalk. ️
Wonderful place to walk and observe wildlife!
An oasis hidden in the heart of Wellington. If you want to escape the everyday noise and find yourself surrounded by the beauty Florida’s tropical landscape has to offer, this is the place.
So many wild birds! Well maintained, quiet, peaceful, but no pets allowed :(
Great reserve, free, nice trails, helpful signs, horse and bike friendly, restrooms and all the wildlife you can handle. We even saw an alligator in the water (safely distant). Two parking lots, remember which one you are at.The highlight for me is the tower where you can finally get a good vista of the natural beauty. The park is named after a great author, environmentalist, suffragette, and interesting person, Google her.
Quiet walking or biking paths not crowded at all. Great places to just disconnect in the world.
Beautiful park easy to ride trails plenty of restrooms. Multiple parking areas lots of wildlife even an observation tower.
A lovely walking preserve. Several families of ducks were out on the water. I was surprised to learn that segway tours were available. The climb to the top of the tower was so worth the view. So tranquil and much needed with all of the reckless development happening in the Western areas.
Variety of wildlife and nice walks.
Green Motion Segway Tours was wonderful! Guide was very knowledgeable. Beautiful area. Huge variety of birds
This nature preserve was incredible. Very few people were there. It is a very large area, we spent several hours there. Lots of hiking if you wish. We saw hundreds of birds some right on the railing. In hot weather wear a hat and bring sunscreen not lots of shade. Only facilities are nonflushing toilets, which were very clean. Wellington is very quiet and peaceful.
Nice paved trails.....wildlife.....small wooden bridges with great views of the lakes.
Clean and peaceful. Lots of wildlife!
Nice place to walk and biking with family.
What a gem. Make the trek to the tower.... it is closer than you think. I guarantee youll see some wildlife. Great for bird watching
This preserve is a great place to bike, hike, walk with your loved ones, kids, wildlife watch etc sunsets are incredible. The fist time I went within 5 min a bobcat ran across the path in front of us after a rabbit. It was one of the most impressive things I have seen in nature.
Great wetlands preserve.
This is a must see for the whole family. Beautiful.
I love this place and the tower
Nice, clean, neat and quiet place! Not crowded, perfect for solitude stroll!
Beautiful park, lovely trails, great facilities.
Nice place to walk and observe nature.Paved trails dont have much shade.
Great Place to explore local birds and plants. The only problem is people ignore the No Pets sign and on the weekends there is dog poop on some of the trails. Weve also seen large dogs running loose. One dog almost attacked a child the last time we were there. The owners had the dog walking without a leash and we saw when the animal went lunging towards a girl and she screamed. There should be a park ranger here on the weekends to prevent someone from getting hurt.
Nice nature walk on improved trails with opportunities to see many birds and maybe a gator. It is too bad it closes right at sunset because it would be a great place to watch the sunset.
One of my favorite places to take a walk, clean fresh air...its amazing and beautiful!!
Great nature reserve with lots of wild life. Has an awkward location but it is understandable for a nature reserve. The parking lot is also very small and not ideal for big groups which is weird considering there is something resembling an amphitheater or a Pavilion. There a couple bathrooms located within the park which is otherwise a beautiful visage of natural Florida swamp. The boardwalks are great and benches offer very nice resting places. The observatory is nice as well and gives a great view. Its very quiet and a great place for a jog or a picnic. Just beware of the fire ants.
Very nice trails with bathrooms! Not a lot of shade though so make sure you bring water!
Amazing! Took the Green Motion Segway tour and loved it! Saw tons of wildlife and Andrew was super knowledgeable. A hidden gem and must see for tourists and locals alike.
Beautiful place but was a little disappointed, not with the park but park officials for not opening at 6am as park hours state. Waited till 6:22am and still nothing.
Beautiful place to take a walk or ride your bicycle. Lots of birds and wooden bridges over the wetlands. There is a neat tower that you can climb up to the top.
Beautiful scenery, paths and nature
Nice spot to ride bike
Nice walking paths. Bridges give great views of marsh and local wildlife. Clean bathrooms. Level trails
Beautiful! Fun walk, only 3 miles round trip. Worth every second.
Beautiful place to walk around. Bring water because they only have one water station at start.
Such a beautiful place to take a walk and just admire nature.
Clean and well kept maintained park with an observation tower and separate equestrian trail. Approx. 2 miles to the observation tower. Perfect for a bike ride with your kids or a run with some friends.
No pets allowed, service animals welcome.Horse trails. That being said I see a leashed dog everytime I visit.
Great place for jogging
It is a nice place ride a bike. Or, if you are tired of walking the same trails then give this one a try. There are different birds to observe along the way. They have postings along the trail to help you identify them.
Nice park! So beautiful view from the tower. Loved the place.
Nowhere to sit down..
Very beautiful! Lots of birds.
Great park to bike, jog, bird watch or clear your mind ! Very long & wide paths, not crowded, but where a hat for sun protection. Be sure to take water with you.
This place will be outstanding in another five years. Its nice enough now, but there is no shade as the trees are fairly new. I saw lots of wading birds, ducks, and a couple of snail kites hunting. As the preserve matures, Im sure it will become a premier birding location.
Was an adventurous place, if your a nature lover i recommend going here and going for a walk. But bring plenty of water lol
Absolute hidden gem!! I love this preserve. Clear water, large variety of birds, benches and an abundance of beauty. The trails are wide and stroller/wheelchair friendly. Pack a lunch and your camera because it will be a great day!!
