Small but fascinating museum and completely unexpected. There are true paleontological and archaeological discoveries that offer a detailed history of Florida both in terms of its fauna and its people. The director is incredibly knowledgeable and willing to share his knowledge. Great way to spend an hour or two learning the early history of Florida. Very hands on!

Small museum, basically the size of a mall store space (which it occupies). Decent spot at which to stop if youre at the mall with kids. Museum is close to Nordstrom.

What a great spot. Although in a mall, weird, but beyond that the gentleman who gave us a personalized tour throughout the museum was very informative and animated. The got to get up close and personal with a dinosaur. We got through it within 45 minutes and we could have stayed longer and done some kid’s activities, but with 2 kids under 7 the time spent was perfect. We would def recommend for an informative afternoon. And then shopping!!

As a New Yorker, my thoughts upon reading museum of natural history were of ones similar to that of the one in the city; large, lots of exhibits, massive rooms with sprawling displays of extinct animals, e.t.cIt was to my surprise, it was in a mall (I could get with that!) But what was disappointing: the size. Its the size of a store.Dont mistake, its amazing and creative what was done with the space. It shouldnt be called a museum. Its more like an EXHIBIT of natural history.

As someone who loves all things fossils, this was a great museum despite being located in a mall of all places! Rudy gave a very informative and entertaining tour of what they do on a dig and how they are able to move larger fossils without compromising them. It was really fascinating to have the tour given by an archaeologist who worked on what we were seeing. It was an amazing experience to wander through this museum and we were informed about all the upcoming events which seemed super interesting as well. Definitely something I would recommend to friends and will be attending some of the lectures theyre going to have.

For a museum inside a mall, they made great use of the space. They had a triceratops fossil and fossils from ancient Florida animals. Rudy gave us an extensive tour and was extremely knowledgeable and nice and explained the importance of everything in the museum. It was really nice to have a real archeologist explain what hes been working on with his colleagues. Im definitely interested in the future events he told us they will he hosting in the upcoming months.

On the day we visited, the Director, Rudolph F. Pascucci, gave us a tour with a mesmerizing commentary on the practice and meaning of paleontology, and particularly about the site in North Dakota which contains fossils that may have been laid down immediately after the asteroid strike in the Yukatan which ended the age of dinosaurs. Mr. Pascucci was a member of the team in this dig, and the team leader, Robert DePalma, is curator of the Museum. Before you go to the Museum, its worth reading one of the recent articles on this dig that have appeared on the New Yorker, National Geographic and other websites.
