This is a very nice park. Big park with lots of open areas to have activities in. Two playground areas that I noticed. At least two restroom facilities. Several pavilions and several different parking areas around the park. I noticed that the grounds and restrooms were very clean when we were there. I would definitely recommend this park.

Great park to take the kids and play on the way grounds. Or you can go for a bike ride on the many bike trails. Or just go for a hike or a run. It is well maintained and the wild life is relaxing. Watch out for crazy squirrels charging your car head on.

Fairly nice and quiet park, bathrooms open year round which is a plus. Couple stragglers here and there though, might not be the safest too too late after sundown.

Ive always loved it, I grew up on ignurt hill and rode my bike there since I was about 9. Theres something special there. You can almost feel our ancestors presence here, kids running and playing all around. Im soon to be 49 and its still a magical place that takes me back to every crazy thing we did there and how special its always been. My grandma first took me there at a very early age. Thank you God and Grandma and Getzendaner park- Jody John Vance

Ive visited this park countless times over the past 20 years. The equipment has been upgraded and a couple new safety features added but honestly the trees are the main attraction. Giant old oaks shelter you from the sun making this a great place even during the summer months which can be unbearable in North Texas.

I’ve been going to this park since I was a kid. Always kept very clean and tons of different play options for the kids. Multiple gazebos for picnic / party space. They also have trails with mile markers and fitness challenges along the way. My kids love going into the bridge over the water, and exploring the woods.

Used to be a wonderful beautiful place. The ground is falling out now near the creek. The sidewalk is caution taped off because the sidewalk caved in. A dead body was found a year ago out there. Person was jogging at dusk. Its believed they were murdered. But it was not solved. The mosquito problem has grown beyond reason. A bunch of church events are held out there, not that I have any problem with them. But they are very aggressive about it I was in the park with my child sister on a tuesday, we were in the park next to the park they were in and they had a megaphone screaming at us we needed to attend or wed go to hell. Went out there a week later on a weekend and there was another church even where they had loud speakers singing karaoke that could be heard from the other end of the park. We were quiet and didnt interfere but a church goer approached us and said theyd like if we could leave the wanted the park to themselves. Went about 4 months later (last weekend) and again church group was out there. This time there was no problems. They again had loud speakers and were blasting church songs. Very obnoxious. Still a beautiful place. Just dangerous, buggy, and full of loud people.

This is a great park, the paved trail stretches for miles and has workout stations scattered along its length with instructions and some equipment. I didnt try any of the recommended exercises but liked this aspect of the park that I havent seen elsewhere. A couple of bridges led to some nature trails that were decent, and the park also has nature trails that are designated for bikes. I would consider returning here with someone else.

Its a pretty old, well established and well maintained park. There are many setups with equipment for kids to play on and an entire setup for children in wheelchairs. There are trails through the woods surrounding the park and along the creek that is a prominent item. There is also a cement walking/bike trail that has simple exercise and balance equipment placed periodically along is 7.6 mile length.Ive seen concerts in the historic Chautauqua Auditorium that have become some of my favored memories.Mostly, I find myself in a shaded parking spot using part of my lunch reading on napping!

The bike trails on and off the main trails are great, and oh the trails off the main trails are a workout when you have your 2 yearold your toating in his carry-on compartment. The main trail is well marked and my legs got a great workout. There is a dog park also, there is a prk at both ends of the trails also! Love it! THE BEST park in South Dallas-Fort Worth. Three playgrounds, the walking trail head, the mountain bike trail runs parallel, lots of picnic tables and multiple playgrounds. Completely shaded with trees that are older than anyone is alive today. If youre worried about safety, Police do drive through on a regular basis.

My daughter loves to run around and play at Getzendaner. I grew up playing at this park and have tons of nostalgia bringing her here. It could use some more toddler friendly slides and play equipment along with some update water fountains or even a splash/mist pad. It does the job though if you just need to tire your tot out.

This is a very large and open park. The street circles around the park area with a walking path along the outside of the street circle. In the park, there are two large playgrounds with multiple sets of swings. There is also plenty of room to play catch, tag, or frisbee. There are picnic tables scattered throughout the park. One of the best things is this park is almost completely covered by a tree canopy. So, you are pretty much guaranteed to be out of the hot sun while you eat or play.
