Lovely, shaded county park. Reservable or first come, first served sites. 2 50amp sites, otherwise all 30 amp. Water fill and dump station ($7 to dump) present. Some road noise during the day, but very quiet at night. Ample acreage to walk the dogs, ride bikes. Would easily be 5 stars if old picnic tables were replaced. (Did not use public restrooms)

I love this park its basically like central Park but for Wausau.

Beautiful place! Even though the restrooms were limited to one building in the park, there were bathrooms at the Holiday gas station just outside the entrance into the park. I loved the mature pine trees and the availability of picnic tables. Lots of parking spaces, walking trails, dog friendly place, and so much more! I will definitely go back again!

Was so great to have the kids out and playing. They had so much fun. My kids that can play all enjoyed it. All three, 6, 11 and 14.

Its a shaded place for the kiddos to play on two of the playgrounds so its enjoyable for both parents and children, even on a hot day. However they need more trashcans and not just dumpsters. People are already too lazy to throw their trash and cigarette butts away properly. Taking out the trashcans made it more likely for people to litter. One time I picked up a whole sandwich bag full of cigarette butts and at that time, there was a trashcan nearby. Disgusting people.

Bathrooms are not open right now but the rest of the park is in great shape. I think you need reservations for parts of the park.

I enjoy the park because its close to home. Can take a nice walk and play at the parks or sit under the gazebos. A good time killer.

I love this park. Especially since I can play Pokémon Go and there are a lot of gyms and PokeStops. Really shady with lots of trees and its quiet. Parks for the kids, water play area, a train. Also lots of camping spaces. Nice walking trails as well.

Clean and quite peaceful. Watch the wind tho. Downwind from the campers/bathrooms made the air literally smell like a septic tank.

Not clean, no accessible garbage cans. Not entirely parks fault, as people who use it have to take time to clean up after themselves. Nice place but too bad with the disregard of users.

Very noisy at night. Loud music in cars cruising around. It’s a beautiful park with large pine trees and we like it.... all but the noise.

Big trees, plenty of trails to walk and bike with enough gazebos/shelters to go around.Grills on site. Running water. Big field for fetch with the dog or setting up leisure activities.

Marathon Park was a safe place to meet my traveling family for a quick picnic! The bathrooms were very clean!

Its a beautiful park. You can rent facilities and hold outside gatherings. Camping, grilling are available.

Its a pretty nice and large park! However, during Wednesdays from 6-7pm, there are a lot of pokemon go players.

Nice open spaces for fresh air. The public bathroom is closed, of course, for the epidemic reasons, for safety.

Marathon Park is a very relaxing place to visit.

VERY nice place to take a walk through. Even though theres traffic all around the park, its still pretty peaceful within it. As far as camping goes, it all depends on your individual needs/preferences. So I would call them and find out their rules and regulations 1st, before just showing up to camp.

Beautiful wooded area, peaceful, great place to walk with hundreds of old pine trees. Has camp sights, multiple playgrounds, picnic area, restrooms, grandstand and buildings used during the fair and other community activities, and very family-friendly!! Always clean and well taken care of by maintenance crew. Located right in the middle of the city but the pine forest gives it a complete back-to-nature feeling of peace and serenity!!

Conveniently located in mid Wausau with plenty of events going on throughout the summertime. Check out their events on their website to see what they offer for central Wisconsin fun. Worth a look. Located next to busy roadway though so not necessarily the most quiet if looking for peace and quiet

The city really needs to do something better with marathon park. There is so much potential here but the city has been neglecting it for decades! Very outdated and rundown. Basically no reason to go here unless there is some kind of special event happening.

Family is in 4h. Enjoyed the exhibitions.

They have Pickleball courts!

Great playgrounds, camping and magnificent trees in the middle of a city. Also a nice concert venue. The little ones love the splash pad.

We went here to visit the splash pad. We also had ice cream and the kids went on a train ride. I had children with me that ranged in age from 5 to 9 years old, everyone enjoyed the splash pad, ice cream and train ride. No complaints! The splash pad is very affordable and the hours of operation are decent. The people working there were friendly and we had a great experience overall. The only reason I docked it a star is because there is only one changing stall (at least there is only one in the ladies section). It wasnt busy when we were there (Friday early afternoon), but I could see how that would present a problem had there been more people.

Good facilities, good camping.However, the county fair in August costs way too much!! High price for admission and parking with no good acts in grandstand to account for it. Go to free fair somewhere else.

This is a large park with lots of room to roam. There are covered shelters for family or work gatherings. A bonus is the train. There is also a concessions building with a few kid oriented activities. Oh and lets not forget the amazingly fun splash pad. That is my grandsons favorite place to be in the summer.

Nice place to relax in warm weather. There are places to camp. I have not camped here.

I went here when our team played in UFF DA, and the grounds were absolutely gorgeous. They building that we were in was perfect oh, I know they say that it was not climate controlled but I never felt hot in there during all of the times I was in there.

Not at all what I expected for the Wisconsin Valley Fair. Hardly any food vendors and small animal barns. The nightly entertainment was awesome though.

Could have better water fountains, But other than that its a good place to hangout.

I love Marathon Park, the staff at the concession stand were so friendly and even though we accidentally spent our tickets on the train, they gave us our ice cream anyway. We will be coming back again!

Great place!! Its very large and very inviting. I am attending the Wausau half marathon here this morning sponsored by myTeamTriumph. Pretty awe inspiring to put it mildly.

Masks should be required in all buildings.

Too close to roads but way cool if you pay attention!

A large park with several playground areas, outdoor grills with picnic tables, and buildings, camping area, walking trails, a train to ride, a Splashpad for young kids, concessions, and ample parking! Besides that there is an indoor ice rink, and probably a few more things that I forgot to mention.

Attended my first Wausau Riverwolves Hockey game at Marathon Park. Had a blast with good friends.

Great place to throw a family picnic during the summer time. It has a splash pad and a train ride for kids. Also has a basketball court and tennis court that can be play morning to night because they have lights. Plus it holds the county and state fair there every summer.

Love the pines trees even as a small child. Always ride the train $3.75 for 4 people( tickets).

Nice place to go for a walk. People are nice and they leave you alone.

So many great play areas and poke stops

Every year local ski clubs have a ski sale in the park. It usually happens in November and is a great opportunity to get new and used ski stuff for your adventures at granite peak in winter.

I love this park. They have many different places for kids to play, lots of walking area, a splash pad and plenty of poké stops and gyms.

An amazing place to walk around.

We went to watch the Wausau West Boys Hockey team play at the indoor rink in Marathon Park. Excellent time. Only gave it 4 stars because i didnt see the park, therefore i cant rate it. Im sure its very beautiful with all its tall pine trees
