Beautiful fall colors, awesome hiking trails. 10/10 awesome place to explore. No trash cans on the trails, so take your litter with you. Chair lift was in service but I didnt ride it so unable to rate that. The views are amazing. Definitely take photos of family and friends here.

This is a beautiful place to visit. Many short day hikes of all skill levels. Take some good shoes, youll be pleased that you do. I have never been here in the winter, but I bet that it is outstanding.

Beautiful park, but crazy busy when we went! Trails felt a little like follow the leader because of how many people were on it. Probably because it was peak fall color time! If you are looking for excellent views, this place is perfect. If you are looking for a private walk through the woods, you might want to try somewhere else!

Pretty hike, a bit more touristy than my family prefers. Nothings spectacular, the views are of the town and therefore just pretty.Trails are marked but the intersections could use some more clear markings. Also, when you only have about 6 trails you there is no need for multiple yellow trails!

Every season can be seen and enjoyed here! They make alot of snow every year so the season can start earlier and continue later. There are tons of walking trails that are kept in great shape.

A truly unique and beautiful state park that has the most amazing scenery year round, with trails that can be traversed on foot, bike, and car. (Well the vehicles have to stay on the road obviously....) Hey not to mention, it has a observation tower and ski lift so the whole family can enjoy seeing the beautiful wisconsin fall colors from a spectacular point of view and go skiing during the winter. Pet welcomed too.

We love it here.....always come to snowboard and its well taken care of....Im sure its beautiful in the summer too

We went up to check out the ski hills in hopes that well be able to go skiing this winter. The chair lift was open for a small fee of $15 bucks ( purchase your ticket online in advance) so we were able to check out the top of the hill. The staff was really friendly I just wish there was someone there pushing the ski aspect and selling people on coming back in the winter for skiing, Im assuming thats why they offered fall ski lift rides. I really couldnt tell what the hills were like... Seemed like too many trees and not much open hill space. Seemed like a lot of black diamond hills and not so many blue runs. Again, if there was someone there selling the skiing we may have gotten a better idea on if we would return for skiing this winter. Its a 4 hour drive from Chicago so Im not sure if it would be any better than going to Chestnut Mountain where they have a hotel right on the hill as well as restaurant and bar. Granite peak has hotels and restaurants in the area but you would need to pack up your skis and drive.

Lots of fun. Beautiful fall colors. Trails of all difficulty levels. If you like to hike dont miss this opportunity.

Its really just amazing to walk the trails and look at the different sites. There are benches in some areas to enjoy the view.. Parking is good. Tower is closed due to covid I believe but there are plenty of sites to see with social distancing.This place will have a special place on my heart and memories.

This park is very gorgeous but the trails are not very well mapped out. I got lost but I really enjoyed the views the whole time. Their ski lift is cool and I loved the quarry!! Only thing is they have two yellow trails and theyre not well marked.

One of the best State Parks in WI! Unbeatable views of the area from the lookout points. Nice picnic area with great views. Lots of rocks to climb on. Great hiking trails with varying terrain.

Great trails! Get your steps in! The observation tower is closed due to age and type of material, not safe! Still had a good time there!

Beautiful park, guy in the booth by the entrance was grumpy but not gonna dock it a star for that. The colors were stunning and the trails were beautiful to walk down. Very clean park and lots to do. The tower was cool and nice overlook. Will definitely be back in the spring to do some biking and hiking in the area.

Variety of trails available! We did the Turkey Vulture to Homestead Loop trail. It is rated moderate on Alltrails but was easier than i thought it would be. Also helps that it is so beautiful in the fall!

Stopped by Rib Mountain State Park to check out the fall colors on our way passing through. The views are incredible and the kids loved hiking the trails and climbing the rocks. The park was clean and inviting.

Simply beautiful. Has small trails or could spend all day here. Perfect spot for all the views of town.

Made out with somebody at the top of the tower youre not allowed to be on. it was a little awkward climbing over the barrier they put there, but overall was a pretty good experience. would do it again

Awesome place to visit! Some of the trails were hard to follow but most were well maintained. We loved the quarry trail! The scenery was so beautiful!

Spectacular views ... could not go to top of observation Tower due to COVID restrictions but a nice hike on trails around the top anyway.Very accessible in summer.

There are so many trails to walk around, great for hiking, sightseeing and family get togethers. They have grills and tables for cookouts. Bathrooms, they are outhouses but they are pretty well maintained. The lookout points and tower are closed right now due to Covid19 sadly.

Absolutely gorgeous park to go hiking in. Took on portions of the Red Trail, Quarry Trail and Homestead Trail. All of them were fantastic. The trails are quite rugged with rocks covering the trail the entire way along. Many portions with significant descents and ascents. You dont have to be in shape to enjoy the trails, but if you arent, youll definitely be winded and sore by the end of things.By far one of the best trails Ive been on in recent memory. Highly recommended.

If the observation tower were open it would have been perfect, but even without it was stunning. Pro tip... Northern parking lot by the observation tower. For sunset get a truck and point the tailgate north/west. Lay down with your sweetie and watch God work. Breathtaking

Went for the fall colors but visit was a little too early in the season. We were rewarded though with a fantastic view that was breathtaking. We bought tickets for the ski lift to the top which the ride up was a fun experience. We got off and walked around the top which is also accessible by car. Took a leisurely stroll where I took the posted pictures. They have a small gift shop and concession stand at the top where you can get beverages and a small variety of food. The ski lift ride back down the mountain is even better than the ride up as you face the valley and really can enjoy the view as your car descends to the chalet at the bottom. The park also has miles of hiking trails available. Highly recommend a visit.

My first time to this park. I really enjoyed the views and scenery. Maybe next year when I visit the observation tower and concession stand will be open

Great all year around, this is one of my favorite places to go to see the beauty of nature.A very pleasant drive (or walk/bike) up the mountain leads to chair lift rides (a must at least once in your lifetime during autumn), the tower with its unparalleled views of the surrounding area, giant boulders, lots of color, and the smell that is the definition of fall.For those that love hiking, skiing, nature, and spectacular views, youll love Rib Mountain.If youre visiting from out of town, or if youve just never been, you must stop in to see this amazing site.

Pretty views, but almost no one wears a mask. Easy to see why Covid cases are spiking in the county.

They have the tower closed off when we went due to covid19 so that was kind of a bummer but we just decided to walk the trails for a while and enjoy the nice colors of fall.

The fall colors on the trees this time of year are absolutely wonderful to experience with family and friends on a lesuriely hike. Make sure you bring a camera so you can capture all the goureous memerioes you created!!!

Went for the first ski trip of the season. It was all artificial snow and only a fraction of the runs were open but it was a gorgeous day. The staff were all nice and the chalet served decent food with a wide selection of drinks. The whole place has a very alpine feel to it and is just a lot of fun.

A beautiful park that is well maintained. Wonderful views over Wausau and the surrounding area, trails, amphitheatre, small playground, plenty of places to have a cookout. My only gripe is that the bathrooms could use a bit of updating.

Even with the towers closed it is a beautiful place to walk with plenty of challenging elevation changes. Views are spectacular any time of year. Highly recommend.

Good trails with nice views. Come for the colors in October, they are amazing!

If you feel adventurous and arent afraid of heights try going in the viewing tower, but be sure to hold on! The best trail to go on for distance traveled is the gray trail because the view over the old quarry is breath taking. I strongly recommend going to both of these stops.

Had an amazing time walking the trails at Rib Mountain. I love the mineral quarts to begin with, but to find a literal mountain of quarts is something else! I definitely found a love for hiking going to this place and I will be returning in the future to try all the rest of the trails and see all the sites there is to see.

Great place to hike. Lots of trails. Saw about 7 turkey vultures flying around.

Great scenery and views. If you are ambitious, you can walk the trail on the side of the road that enters the park, for free entry into the state park. Once you are at the top I recommend taking the Red trail to the Quarry trail. When you get to the quarry, stop for a rest to enjoy the turkey vultures with their large wingspans.

Rib Mt/ Granite Peak is a cozy, fun spot. I love the original Chalet and the crackling wood fire. Food and drinks are pricey but in line with ski resorts. They take care of the lifts, walks and parking lot.

Beautiful snowboard area! Wide runs and a nice high speed, six person chair lift. The chalet is big and had live music and plenty of space to chill when you want to come inside.

Beautiful park with amazing views. This is one of my get-away places in the area if I just want to go for a hike and be surrounded by nature.

Have been visiting this place continuously for past couple year now just love it here. The fresh air the vibes and plus the people are so friendly me and my wife favorite place to be on weekends. We drive for 4hours from Chicago to get here and just absolutely love it.

An amazing view! Several places to park and walk around the park. Definitely a worthwhile stop for any and all who enjoy the beauty of nature!

Brought my three kids under 13 and we had a great time with perfect trails. And of course they loved the tower and observation deck.

The view is AMAZING, the park is extremely well kept and they even provide trash bags for you to put your trash in to dispose of. Definitely a spot to visit if youre in the area

Spectacular views!My wife and I really enjoyed the hiking trails. The drive up to the park and back down was fun also since the park is located on a ski hill. During the fall you can ride the chair lift to view the fall colors (call first). Theres a viewing tower and awesome rock formations in the park.

Such a lovely place with a ton of interesting natural history!

Too bad it was raining but we still enjoyed ourselves there and will go back

A wonderful place to hike or bike up to, a beautiful view to greet you at the top, and gazebos and buildings to rent for parties. Spectacular place to visit.

The whole family loves Rib Mountain... The love the rock and the trails

Rib State Park is my go to for getting a quick workout on the bike for sure. This park is the highest point anywhere nearby and the steep climb makes it a great challenge for anyone on two wheels or two feet. If you park at the bottom and climb up you don’t have to pay at the top, which is a nice reward for making the 700+ foot assent.I also love walking/running the cut trails in the woods as the are well marked and can be easy or very challenging. Good way to tire out the kids :)At the top there are some fun rocks to enjoy and a watch tower that will give some spectacular views of Wausau, Mosinee, Marathon, etc.If this review was helpful, hit the like button!
