This was my first time traveling to this location and found it very interesting. The museum was large and had countless artifacts, photographs, and posters. Each time period had its own categorized section which made everything neatly organized. All items in the facility tell its own unique history!

Reall impressed and proud of this musuem. Especially loved the womens suffrage exhibit! The veteran musuem touches the heart and has great clips from local Veterans and local neighbors who tell their personal stories. While there in the Vietnam exhibit my son asked what a certain wall meant... this wall had bars and on the bars were dog tags. Each bar represents a year of the conflict/war.. I explained to my son each dog tag represents Iowans who gave their lives during Vietnam. My son is six.. he paused, stared, touch the wall for a moment.... then he saluted. It was very touching and a proud moment as a father. Thanks to the musuem for offering a wonderful memorial and learning center.

Interesting war displays, especially the WW I trench mockup. Two interactive displays needed to be repaired. The exhibit on speed and racing that I had originally intended to see was a bit meager. The interactive dog tag feature was fun. Good way to spend a good part of the afternoon, and worth admission if you enjoy war history.
