We saw The 39 Steps on a Sunday matinee and it was great! The Theater is small but comfortable and the sight lines are great from any angle. The actors did an amazing job - especially in a play full of dialogue and on-stage set changes. We thoroughly enjoyed the show and cant wait to check out another show at the theater!
Excellent production. Set was well-designed, cast was strong. Sightlines were a little constrained when scenes took place at the foot of the stage, but then thats too be expected in a small, intimate space.
Love this companys shows. The intimate space makes you feel part of the magic.
Actors and all performers was phenomenal! I went to see “Little Shop of Horrors” with my 12 year old. No bad seat in the venue. Enjoyed my time there.
Aida is wonderful - staging is well done, lead voices are excellent, and Constellation Theatre continues to be a shining star in the DC theatre scene. Although some of the male supporting dancers were not fully engaged in the choreography and timing, the overwhelming effect was compelling and elicited pure joy. The soloists were fabulous. The duets, quartets, and full company musical numbers were outstanding in tonality, synchronous harmony, balance, and dynamics. A huge well done to the cast and crew!
Every show weve seen here has been top notch. Small venue, very close to performers.
I think this theatre company is really great for the productions they are putting on. The prices fit the stage production value. I definitely recommend the higher priced though because you get a chair with a back. The Theater is small and feels really intimate but the talent isn’t lacking with the cast!
Beautiful place. The performances are always great
My husband and I have really enjoyed this theatre. The venue is nice and the performances are always great! We sit in the cheaper seats and the view and experience is always great. Great deal here!
In town for a protest march, and having walked quite a bit during the day, I wanted to spend Saturday evening sitting down. Found a Facebook event listing for By the Skin of Our Teeth. When I arrived at the theater, there were only a few seats left, including one in the front row. I thought it would be a nice treat, paid the $60 plus $5 service fee.The chairs are less comfortable than what youd find in an office waiting room. And I slipped my shoes off.At the intermission someone wearing a headset came over to tell me that the stage manager wanted me to put my shoes back on. She made a joke about no shoes no service. I considered voting with my feet, as the play was hard to follow....and after sitting through the second act, I wish I had. The stage manager characters kept appearing in the action, and now I am wondering if I was the sacrificial audience member to be included. While the first half was at least enjoyable, being shoe-shamed severely curtailed my pleasure for the rest of the presentation. Not worth $60. Not worth $50. Dont sit in the front row. Ill make a point of not returning.
Saw little shop of Horrors with my two kids and we loooooved it.
Very cool small stage theater! We saw their performance of Journey to the West, which was FANTASTIC! Gorgeous costumes, great choreography, and a well-told story of this incredibly complex Chinese epic. If their other performances are anything like this one, you wont be disappointed.
Great space for performing art. They always have something different come through. The cheap $20 seats are not very comfy, view is fine, the stool is just small/narrow and uncomfortable.
A tiny cheap theater with very small stage and poor interior design, uncomfortably crowded seating and mediocre performance.
Well done. Did not like substance. Tedious. Cute costumes and staging
Cozy venue. Seasonal disorder was good. Opener was okay.
Exciting and excellent productions.
