The Army Navy Club is always a magical place to visit. When you think of the history there and the stories the wall would tell if it could talk would be priceless. I have not had a bad meal there so far. A tad pricey, but you get what you pay for I guess.

Definitely a historical place with a few different bars, restaurants, and banquet rooms. Its a private club so you just cant walk in off the street and get a beer. Went to a friends retirement dinner, and while the food was good, it was far from great. Guess its all about the ambiance.

Sorry, but it was well below my expectations. I ordered a BLT Chicken Chipotle sandwich and the bacon was microwaved burnt to a crisp. It fell apart as soon as I touched it. Whats worst, when I told the waitress, she brought me more burnt bacon! The mushroom soup was a winner and so were the fries. Oh and overall the service was pleasant and friendly.

Not only an incredible location but the bar had a superb selection of mixed drinks and wide range of wines. Dining there was an experience... superb wait staff and excellent presentation. Sponsored by a friend as its a members only access but loved it!

Invited to dinner by a family friend. The menu was tantalizingly descriptive and offered a wide array of cuisine. The multiple courses were each a tribute to culinary perfection. The taste of the food was superb, from appetizer to dessert. Some of the items Ive never experienced or heard of before, and the ones I tried were exquisite. Kudos to the chef. The atmosphere was highbrow as coat and tie were expected to be worn by gentleman and appropriate attire by the ladies. Interior architecture and wall hangings or beautiful with many of a historical value and nature. The staff was very professional and the club is centrally located in DC. Easy to find, beautiful decor and great dining. They certainly do it right here!

The staff couldnt have been more welcoming. It is a fantastic club and I look forward to joining it in the near future.CPT Christopher F. SheridanUS Army Special Forces (Ret.)

The menu is excellent. This is a terrific place to come to for a good meal and for a special occasion. The bison steak is fantastic, that is so far my favorite meal here. The sauce that comes with the steak is perfect, the chef knows his/her cooking. You cannot go wrong with anything you order. The gazpacho soup is nice, cool and has the perfect amount of spice. The waiter we had was very friendly and very helpful with helping to choose the wine. The tuna they have for the appetizer was very tasty and was cooked just right leaving the center nice and raw. The facility is very clean and well maintained. The upstairs bar, the Daiquiri Bar, is well know for being the birthplace of the Daiquiri in America. I love the dining room, the high ceilings and atmosphere is very upscale. This is a great place to be a member of in Washington D.C. On Tuesday nights they have a fantastic Surf and Turf dinner that has a wide selection of fine meats and fish.

Great ambiance and welcoming environment, right in the heart of DC! Especially great for members of the DoD or veterans who are looking for camradarie. Rating this 4.5 stars, and would be 5 stars if not for the food which is fine but not at the same level of surrounding establishments.

The club was founded by Lieutenant-General Sir Edward Barnes (1776–1838) in 1837.[2] His proposal was to establish an Army Club, with all officers of Her Majestys Army on full or half pay eligible for membership.[2] However, when The Duke of Wellington was asked to be a patron, he refused unless membership was also offered to officers of the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines, and this was agreed.[2] On 28 August 1837 a meeting representing the various services took place, to elect a Committee and to settle the new clubs Rules.[2]Sir Edward Barnes died on 19 March 1838, just two weeks before the first general meeting of the club.[2]By 1851, the club was in a strong position, with sixteen hundred members and a waiting list of 834.[3] This pressure led to the founding of the separate Naval and Military Club in 1862

The bar is beautiful. I came as a reciprocal member from the Liberal Club in London. It was a bit of a faff to get in. We were given the wrong instructions, so I have to leave my wife at dinner to go back to reception to get a card. But the food was good and the drinks in the bar after were great.
