Overall, I relished this club despite how difficult it was to find parking. There was ample space within its 2 levels which housed friendly occupants and helpful staff. However, I miss having a dance club like Towne nearby

This place is electric! Im from Louisville, KY and this is one of the best entertaining places Ive been to. They make a special effort to make you feel at home and to greet everyone! Theyll make you wanna give all your money away lol.

Im not much of a sports fan but as far as a place to hang out and take in a game, this is a pretty good spot. They have an assortment of games around the place to keep you busy (PLEASE BRING BACK THE Nellies Sports Bar!) lots of beer on tap and the food is surprisingly good.

One can have fun there. Crowding can be a concern. The first floor is roomy cause everyone is upstairs. The drinks are good. Bartenders are nice. The deejay was awesome the times I visited. Im not the dancer, but I was definitely singing along!!!

Such a fun atmosphere! Stopped by on a Friday night and loved how the rooftop turned into a dance floor. The DJ was great! Our server Anya recommended great drinks and also gave us tips on where we should go around DC! She made our visit great, we loved our time at Nellie’s!

I went to the drag brunch on a Sunday and it was the worst drag show and brunch I’ve ever attended. I purchased tickets online and when I arrived my seats were in the back, underneath a mirror at a wobbly table. My price for a ticket was the same as everyone else, and I was in the back at a bad table! The table was so close to others that the waitresses had to say “excuse me,” as they walked by and practically pushed me into the wall each time... this happened every couple minutes. I heard so much about this brunch and I was grossly disgusted at the presentation and cost, especially since I was in the back of the restaurant. Not to mention, I couldn’t see the show, same price and sat outside of view. Needless to say, I left early with my friend and will never attend the brunch again! I actually want my money back. Other times I’ve attended have been fun but I also didn’t prepay $40.

My favorite place to stop for a drink in DC

The drag brunch is 5 STAR! We went here for my 40th birthday for the drag brunch and had an absolute blast! We had a token straight boy in the crowd and they loved giving him a hard time. It was really a lot of fun and probably one of the best drag shows I have ever seen! I laughed so hard!

If you have not gone to the Drag Brunch you are not living life. These performers are amazing, they pull the crowd in and it is a very entertaining experience. They even walk outside to engage the passengers walking by, overall great time. The food is not why people come so dont expect a 5 star meal, it is the show that draws the crowd. I will be back and will bring additional people. Note of caution, once the show starts people get out of their seats, based on where you are sitting they may obstruct your view of the show. This is not a ding on the show by any means, I blame poor parenting.

Nellies Sports Bar is my favorite bar in the city by far. Everyone is so very helpful and provides great customer service. I normally go every Tuesday for Drag Queen Bingo and it is the highlight of my week. Sasha and Brooklyn are hilarious and definitely brighten up my Tuesdays. I have also been for Saturday Drag Brunch and that is also fantastic. I highly recommend coming here.

I love this place, granted Im only there at random times but the drinks are consistently a good pour and the food is exactly what you want. The nachos are excellent, with lots of toppings so very few naked chips. The happy hour specials cant be beat. The staff are attentive, even though they are arguably understaffed. I will never say no to meeting up at Nellies!

The house beer is pretty good for a craft IPA, it doesnt taste like soap! Entertainment and dance floor is good. Service is great. Coat check-in is a very welcomed service on a busy night. Very glad to spend NYE here.

Went there for a quick pre-show bite to eat before a show at the 9:30 club. Bartender was super friendly, food was good, and wasnt overpriced. It also wasnt crowded, but then again it was a Tuesday.

I went to one of the drag brunches for my birthday and had a fantastic time! The entertainment was fun and eventful. I really enjoyed the buffet and the variety of food they served. The drinks were also delicious. I really enjoyed myself and I am glad I ended my birthday celebration there. I HIGHLY recommend checking out the drag brunch!

Nellies is an icon of DC! Not only is it a fantastic sports bar thats LGBTQ friendly, their food is very tasty. The chicken tenders are my favorite in the city, and their no-frills approach to their entire vibe is great. Pro tip: the beat the clock happy hour is amazing, get yourself there before 6!

Went here today to celebrate a birthday. The patio smelled bad and it was beyond hot in there. Today was an especially hot weekend and my entire party was sweating profusely. The hosts gave us fans. The drag brunch was $50 pp and not worth the money at all!!! Thw food was mediocre but more importantly everyone was hot. I gave it two stars due to the politeness of the staff. We wont be returning.

A bar of many faces. They have TVs everywhere featuring sports and music videos. They have a variety of events, including Drag Bingo and Drag Brunch. They have board games you can pull off the shelf to play. They have a great patio upstairs. Their bar food is pretty good, and their drinks are strong.Also, they are by far the largest supporters of LGBTQ sports in DC, donating to leagues to help keep them running and serving the community.

A must visit! Went with a bachelorette party to their weekend drag show and we had so much fun! The girls were amazing, food was good (not like anything superbly special but good choices), the drinks were strong, the performances were spicyyyy (with the extra ys).Be warned, go with a sense of humor and have an open mind. A great way to let loose and have a little fun.

Fun place, awesome show, but too small and cramped, especially at the tables. The food was not good at all, I was a bit disappointed after paying 51 dollars and traveling an hour to celebrate my bff bday. The eggs were runny, needs more Turkey and veggies meat options, nothing but pork and one chicken option that was not good. Pancakes were ok, grits good, drinks strong. When I sat in the back, something from the ceiling kept dripping on me. Luv the ladies, but would be 5 stars easy if owners did a few repairs and please update the menu!!

Came there because it was written no cover on the entrance panel (which changes from other establishments and makes it good for the wallet). The ground floor is a normal friendly pub but upstairs, we discovered a charming scene. The band on stage was amazing, skilled and communicative. The audience was nice and dancing. There were also tables and chairs and the cocktails were well dosed in alcohol. A real gem!

I cant believe that Im saying this, but drinks are way too strong! More people than not were drunk. And I could see why! I only drank a quarter of mine, and had to put it down. People were so sloppy drunk here.

So I had an absolutely great time at the drag brunch, but once it came time to spending time upstairs is where it all went wrong. My friends and I were having a good time dancing and purchasing drinks at nellies. A bouncer saw my friend (who was not at the brunch, and got there an hour before we left) coming out of the bathroom and stated that he was stumbling. We spoke with the manager and he would not hear us out. He ended up kicking us out and did not want to hear anything we had to say. I would recommend the brunch but never spend money here other than the brunch because they will accuse you of being drunk and kick your whole party out.

I went for the first time for my sisters birthday just this past Sunday for the 11am show . It was nothing short of amazing !!!! The ladies are super sweet and deliver the BEST customer service. The food was sooooo good and well prepared . The entire staff is accommodating and willing to help wherever they can . THAT WAS THE MOST FUN I’VE EVER HAD IN THE MORNING!!!!!

I have visited Nellies several times over the years. Tonight, I was waiting for my boyfriend to come up the stairs and was waiting on the platform for him. No one else was on the stairs, but a very rude employee screamed at me that I could not stop on the stairs. I tried to tell him that I was waiting on my boyfriend who was walking up the stairs with our drinks, but he screamed at me again to keep moving. I waited for my boyfriend instead of leaving him and then walked up the stairs once my boyfriend reached me. The employee followed me up the stairs and told me I had to leave because I was rude. We had just ordered drinks so had to guzzle them before I left. I guess he had some kind of complex and threw me out because I didnt move when he said move, but luckily we were able to get into an even better bar across the street called Dirty Goose.Nellies seemed over--rated and over--crowded, honestly too mediocre of an establishment for the employees to be so rude to patrons. With so many good places to go on a Saturday night, you would think they would treat paying patrons better. Ill be going elsewhere from now on.

Nice place. Good crowd. Food was just, meh... Not bad, but not exceptional either. Typical bar food. Service was ok too. My only negative would be that it was a little cramped, making it hard to walk thru. It was not packed with people when I was there, but the tables & chairs were so tightly packed in the space that it made it a bit maze-like just getting in and out.

Always a great time. Regularly has great music, has open-air decks on the second floor, and offers cheap quality drinks. Have always heard great things about the drag brunch too!
