Entry is $20, expensive but you get 5 floors - each with their own music genre from different generations (hence the name Decades), so if you dont like one floor just keep transitioning to the next until you find your rhythm. Best part is that Ive never seen waiting lines to switch from floor to floor. Top floor is both open/fresh air and free to smoke
I highly recommend Decades DC. I have been to many clubs and bars and Decades DC is right at the top. I was extremely impressed with how well it is managed. The Security team is excellent, the wait staff are very professional and friendly. The cleaning crew is excellent too as they are right on top of any spilled drinks and mop or wipe them right away. The music and drinks were great (not weak) If you are looking for a fun night out with your choice of music, you cant beat Decades DC.
Save your money and don’t come to this club! They are unreasonable and rude. I came with a group of friends from out of town, we were all having fun dancing and all of a sudden security came running up to our group and kicked us out. We asked why we were being kicked out cause we didn’t do anything, at all. The security or bouncer pointed at me and said I was drunk? I did not do anything TO even show signs of being drunk or acting rowdy. Everyone in our group was beyond surprised as to what the heck was happening! I have been here a few times but after last night.... NEVER EVER going back here again. I will not be giving this establishment anymore of my money. Place is overrated, overpriced, and the staff is HORRIBLE. If I could give this place zero stars I totally would. But one star is the lowest I could give. I will make sure I spread this to everyone I know. I do not recommend this club.
My friends through me a little get together for my birthday and we all decided to go out and this was one of the clubs we decided to go to.. I have to say this was by far the BEST club I went to, especially on a friday night. I had so much fun that was the BEST birthday ever.. I recommend anyone to go here
Had a blast! Some floors get pretty packed...get there early-ish. For us, ladies were free until midnight I think, cover for husband was $20...well worth it! We had a great night
I had a fun time here. I didn’t stay to long but it was a fun place to hang out at. Drinks were good and prices were reasonable.Oliver
Average night club spot. Nothing really stood out, and the event I attended was not well organized which made me think the club doesn’t curate the party promoters that come through their establishment. The hookah offered is electronic - which is technically vaping - and wasn’t very flavorful. The hookah guy was kind, funny and thoughtful - he was the best part of the night. I’ll never go back - but at least I have it a try.
Good vibes, drinks are ~$12 each which i felt was about standard coming from nyc...just pregame and youll be good to go, LOVED the nice mix of genres on the third floor. everyone knew all the words to evey song and the energy was awesome. had a great night
Supposed to be a floor per decade but really really confusing. Once we got to the floor we wanted, we had a good time. The place was gross - the one floor was so sticky, I nearly lost my shoe a couple times. What can you expect from a place like this though.
Super cool night club with different levels with different music. I think it’s perfect for all ages 22 and up
Over priced drinks. Rude bouncers. And it’s 18 and over (great for college students) but wish that this was more widely advertised for those who are 21+ The club is a really unpleasant experience for those who are over 21
Not a big fan of clubbing, forced to come here one night, it wasn’t bad I liked the music playing on the different levels, it’s just a bit crowded but overall it’s a nice place.
Sunday, July 7, I am entering against this nightclub and with more pleasure I want to review the camera and show broke I do not think anything at all for anyone much less for some security! I was slaughtered and put two safe ones to the floor of the front of the house without understanding the reason for the expulsion. Ive hurt my arm and never been exposed to anything so ridiculous in my life.
My friend and I went for a brunch today and there was only one waiter. We were there for 20 mins with no offered help. Of course we left, but the venue is nice. An apology from anyone of the door staff wouldve been nice.
I forgot to close my tab there. I called them and they told me to pick up my card and take care of the tab next door at Rewind which is apparently connected to them. I found that fishy. When I got there I found out why. They added a huge gratitude without my permission. They dont do that at the bar I was actually at. When I questioned the girl who charged my card before she gave it back to me she laughed and said that’s what happens when you leave your tab. I’ve been in DC all my life. I’ve been to this place when they were called other names like midtown and play. I have left my tab before at places and they don’t do that. That’s very sneaky and not right at all. I wasn’t only going to tip them $5. Because the bartender was rude and spilled a cup which we think was done on purpose to hit my date’s dress. Which it did. Not cool owner Antonis. Besides this the place is a lot of fun and the music is great.
If you are new in town and looking for somewhere to go out and party! This is the place to go. It has multiple floors with different styles of music and vibes. One entry fee. Usual $20 per person and I believe it’s free for ladies on Fridays (I’ve never paid on a Friday) 21+ but def a younger crowd. Very roomy you can always find a place to sit on the first floor. Has a coat check. I have never had a boring time at this place. Music is really good. Bartenders are fast. Drinks aren’t super cheap. Pretty regular $10-$15 . So I definitely suggest a gooooood pregame and the buy a few to keep your buzzz going. This club is in a safe area the main strip. There are many other clubs and bars around it as well. Right next door is rosebar which is a little more of an urban setting!
Security guards charged me money when people in front of me and behind didnt get charged. Some people were shouting they were charged $45
Decades was a blast!!! My friend held her 22nd birthday party on the rooftop and everything was so amazing. The servers and staff were all so friendly and the atmosphere was SO MUCH FUN. I was worried when I read the reviews for this place, but I had a completely awesome and positive experience. Ill definitely be coming back (:
They have an edm floor as well as a RAP floor. However they also have a 2000s and 90s/80s floor. On the 2000s and 90s/80s floor they play majority RAP from those decades. Not much non-RAP from those years on those floors.
Complete waste of money. I paid $20 cover to get in and then $8 for a can of Modelo. So overall I paid $28 to walk up and down four flights of stairs while getting pushed around in a crowded bar. It was an absolute waste of time, and I feel completely ripped off.
Note: **After the generic response to contact them, I received no response whatsoever.Just a negative experience. A table was purchased, and both ID and card on file were taken yet I wasnt allowed in the venue. It was only after standing outside for over 20 minutes that I told the bouncer to retrieve my things if I cant come inside from what I am paying for, that he hurried me inside(which let me know it was intentional). The place is beautiful, which is what makes it worse. Our server provided great service, and we received complimentary hookahs. The issue with that however was, before another bottle could be ordered, our table gets sold while were still there with our drinks and hookah, so Im getting in a shouting match with someone over something which wasnt his fault. Hes telling our crowd to leave and Im doing the same before cooler heads realize were in the same boat. A manager intervened and apologized for the confusion and found his group a new table, after I physically planted myself in the seat and said Im not moving from the table I paid for and the gentleman started criticizing the facility for the way they handled the situation. Which wouldnt have been a big deal if it didnt happen AGAIN less than 10 minutes later, when a new group came in. Our table gets clear and I ask the server for a menu and stand to get a drink from a friend, and bottles are being placed and a party of a few sit in. When I asked the manager why our table once again is being sold, he says, matter of fact, your bottles were clear, after that, the table expires, which immediately caused me to close my tab instead of buying another 2 bottles as planned. It was a sour taste and honestly, it felt disrespectful when all I wanted to do was enjoy the evening. The server was awesome, but the attitude of take your money and kick you to the side, even when wanting to spend more, with what I assume is the assumption that we had no money was very off putting and overshadowed her efforts. Not to say Ill never come again, but there is no way Ill ever do bottle service again.
The club has a great atmosphere and music, but thats about it. Cover is steep ($20) and the cheapest drinks you can get are $12 and extremely watered down. The owner keeps responding to all the previous reviews saying that theyre comparable to others in the area, but as someone who has been to several clubs in the area over the past decade, this is simply not true.Tonight, they offered free entry to people who arrived with a VIP pass before midnight, but did not honor their own coupon. I was allowed in, but my friends had to pay. And the entire time I was waiting for my friends to come in, I had two bouncers yelling at me to stop waiting for them and walk up to the next floor. I was not in anybodys way and I did not feel safe being alone, but of course they could have cared less. The DJs are also rude. Dont bother asking for their stage name so you can help support them, because theyll only shake their head and refuse to look at you.
Worst club I’ve been to in a while. One friend paid the $20 cover before the rest of us realized we didn’t want to go. We asked for it back considering we hadn’t even entered yet. The doormen were incredibly rude about it and told us there was no way we’d get that back and physically turned their backs to me when I tried to explain the situation. We ended up going in anyway to try to make the most of it.Drinks over priced (I know it’s DC but a $12 drink should have some alcohol in it) and I watched another security guard be very rude to another patron. This place is not enough fun to warrant all the money spent between the drinks and the door price, and the staff was pushy and poorly mannered in multiple instances. Never coming back.Edit in response: there was literally 0 people in line behind us. The doormen were rude and turned their backs to us while we tried to maturely handle the situation, not because of other patrons, but to clearly communicate they were done talking to me. If the owner spent as much time coaching staff as defending them on google maybe the service would improve.
Just knowing this place is still in business is a major turn-down.I’ve been to Decades three times. The first time was pretty fun, the second time was pretty lame, and the third time was terrible. Now I understand that things don’t always run perfectly, and I had assumed this establishment was just having a bad night on my second visit. But on my third (and last) visit to Decades, it was so heinous that it actually made for a story, which in itself is a sign of trouble.I was at Decades to see a DJ I like. The first issue I encountered was that the venue was very over packed – barely enough room to breathe or hear my friends. That in itself is less than ideal, but it became a real problem when too many people wanted to go to the next floor. There was no organization and the bouncers were getting very rough with attendees as a means of crowd control. I didn’t see this but my girlfriend and two other friends told me this was happening. I couldn’t focus while I was on that floor at all simply because it got too hot from the overcrowding. The air was so thick and sweaty, and the temperature was so high that I got dizzy and had to use the wall I was pushed up against for balance. I actually thought I would pass out from the heat. Thankfully, I survived. Somehow, that wasn’t the lowest point of the night.Eventually, I made it to the top floor. Decades advertised the DJ would be on the top floor and the 2000’s floor – the latter never happened. (Side note, the top floor is extremely loud, even compared to the rest of them.) I was standing around the bar when this bouncer actually grabbed me by the neck and shoved me out of his way. I don’t think I need to detail why that’s an uncool situation. But, just to flesh it out, he never stopped moving himself or asked me to move, and he could have lightly pushed my back instead. So I called after him, telling him not to do that (in a scolding but nonthreatening tone). The bouncer actually ran back, grabbed me, twisted me into this sort of wrestling hold, and started screaming in my ear. He didn’t let go for a while and I had bruising on my chest for three days after he attacked me. Don’t get the wrong idea, I can take a hit, but it’s the sheer disrespect that got to me. I thought my request was reasonable, and I should be at least entitled to some kind of human decency after giving this venue my money throughout the night. On that note, holy smokes this is the one and only location at which I’ve complained about drink prices. $12 for a drink in a small plastic cup, which is no different than cups you get at your office’s water cooler. It’s almost like self-parody, but it wasn’t funny because I came to this venue expecting to have a good time. But if you want Decades summed up, then here’s what happened to my girlfriend. I stepped away for a minute to use the restroom and when I came back she told me there was someone outwardly grabbing her butt, and someone else had to physically step between them to get the guy to stop (my thanks to whomever intervened). Real classy crowd. It’s not a good time when your significant other is sexually assaulted. All of this happened in one night, doubtlessly making Decades the worst club experience of my life. Now I know what’s going to happen, the nightclub will respond to this review saying that my experience was unfortunate and to email their client service inbox. Guess what, I already did. I never got any kind of response, and judging by the sheer amount of people who have complained throughout time, both of issues similar to mine and of different topics all together, the night club plans to keep running things as they are. It’s shameless. The last time I was at Decades was three months ago, and at the time I only complained to the customer service email address. I’m adding my experience here simply because I still see ads for the nightclub on social media, meaning it still exists, and I don’t like that.
Garbage! They charge you a cover but be careful of the rules of getting in! Not worth, super rude. Mad Hatter is better I promise
My friend bought tickets for five of us to attend this place for 2018 New Years Eve. I was so disappointed for it to be my very first time attending this club. The place was filled pass capacity. We couldnt even get up to the 2nd floor. People were stuck in the stairwell because you couldnt move in this place at all. People were pushing and shoving everywhere you turned. Im sure the fire marshal would have shut it down if they walked in. We were all stuck on the first floor which was terrible. The one drink that I had was horrible and the bartender said they dont remake drinks you have to pay for another one but she did however remake mine for me and I didnt have to pay. Their security were disrespectful as heck with all the yelling, cursing, and shoving also. I do understand that it was New Years Eve but please do not get greedy for money and fill the place over the capacity to where a person can not be comfortable. We werent even there an hour before we left and went somewhere else. For all the money my friend spent for those tickets, I think she should get at least half of it returned!
Jason was a good bartender. Good pours, I had a nice time.
Gets super packed. Rooftop is quite nice with good techno music. Overall a nice place to end up dancing. The drink prices are ridiculous though, hence the low ratings.
Went here a few times while venturing out to DC from Maryland suburbs Lol. Once you get past the 5 flights of stairs you are welcomed by a quaint rooftop in an intimate setting. Its not as spacious as others and the VIP is a bit limited but its a really nice setting if its not packed. But once it gets packed the heat will definitely take over!
Atmosphere was cool but nothing special. Absolute high way robbery though. $20 cover fee, then small rail drinks are $12. You also have to finish your drink before going up to the next floor.
The best venue in DC no question. Four different themed floors with good music, crowd and vibe a good time guaranteed. Staff is professional in every way. For clubs like this you can’t wait for weekend to start. Definitely be back!!
I love this place. my first time partying in dc went to the lounge across the street, it was a rlly wierd vibe and music wasnt good. So we figured lets go check out Decades right across the street! It was amazing the vibe was good, & music was good. There music in every different level, they play all kind of music! I would recommend anyone going here, you wont regret it.
I enjoyed the music even though they didnt play a lot of up-to-date or island music. I gave it 3 stars because the drinks were overpriced and watered down. No where near comparable to the drinks at other clubs or bars in the area. I know because Ive been to a few. Had 2 drinks and didnt feel a thing, and I dont have a high tolerance being that Im little. Waste of $26 but whatever. I also gave it 3 stars because one of the security guards was really rude. I was dancing in the middle of the floor and he had space to go around, yet he pushed me. Hes about 3 times bigger then me and thought that was okay. Knocked me right into my friend. Big bodied bald white man. He couldve even said excuse me but didnt. And there wasnt an emergency because he pushed his way to the bar for whatever reason. The bartender was nice and the guy checking IDs was nice as well. The security needs to be fired and yall need to stop skimping on those drinks. No one wants to pay $13 for a full cup of ice with 1oz of cranberry juice. Drink before you get there guys. Dont waste your money.Edit: Drinks are not comparable, at least 50% of the reviews state that. But also, as a DC native and avid bar/club goer in this area, I know 100% that that isnt true. And the apologies on the reviews arent sincere, just excuses for rude staff and watered down expensive drinks. Its okay to put a little more alcohol in the drinks. Also, during that time that I was literally pushed into my friend by security, not much was going on that I was aware of. However, no matter what was going on, he couldve went around or said a simple excuse me. I promise it wont kill your staff to be polite. Regular humans do it, theyre not above us. If you hate your job quit, but dont do pushing small women around. Im sure if I was a strong male, he wouldnt have even attempted to do the same thing. Security training and better drinks. Thats my recommendation.
Bunch of crooks. Allowing the use of a stolen card... way to go.
They say open bar on eventbrite events and then act like you’re crazy when you tell them that’s what was advertised after you’ve stepped up 5 flights of steps. Definitely a coercion/gaslighting tactic. Not worth the hassle to have a good time when the staff acts like the fact of the matter is unbelievable and something the buyer made up. Don’t trust a company that would exploit the celebration of Juneteenth and Black people for some cash. SAD!
This is one of the best clubs in DC! Very unique and great atmosphere with 4 floors of different decades of music. The rooftop is also amazing and its open all year long. Very friendly and experienced stuff.
Pretty discriminatoey against LGBT, me and the guy I was with were dancing and having fun then went outside to have a smoke and were told we couldnt be let back in because of their dress code.. Its funny how they let us in as separate individuals but then when we tried to re-enter holding hands we werent up to par. This is DC and 2018. We have higher standards than this.
Had my purse stolen. Staff was really unhelpful. I communicated with them several times over the issue and three weeks later I received a very sketchy and indifferent message from what I guess was an employee saying they found my bag, but only my drivers license, everything else had been stolen. He even admitted they had it all along, which proved they were responsible for stealing my $800 phone. Incredibly unhelpful, very sketchy staff, over priced for the service offered. There are better clubs to spend your time and money
Hands down one of the best club experiences Ive had! A group of us got a table for a friends birthday and had the best time. Our waitress was very attentive and super nice. Cant wait for the next occasion so we can celebrate at Decades again! Well most definitely be back!!
Good music. Good Vibes. a Tad bit expensive...
One of the best spots I have been to in DC. Great crowd and the staff is very friendly. I have been there with table service and without. Both have been great times. The staff there looks to make relationships with customers so always treating you well. I like definitely recommend
Place and atmosphere is nice as a night club, staff seem to be rude, sketchy and just not helpful.Security is rude as anything. I wish I could give it 3.5 stars instead of just 3 but its not too far off.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CLUB !!! nice and clean, decent people, different music on every floor, drinks, staff ... every thing about this place is perfect !
Came with a group of friends because we heard so much about the cool ambiance and awesome decor and Decades DID NOT disappoint! 4 different floors with all kinds of cool murals with different music and a DJ on each floor! I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends and you should too!
2000s floor gave me life! will definitely be back
Told us no one was in without sleeves per dress code policy. Which would be fine, but immediately as they told us that someone exited the bar wearing a shirt with no sleeves. Not worth checking out again. Well take out gay business elsewhere
Very cool concept, we always have a great time.
Cant even order a drink. Terrible.
What A great establishment 4 floors each floor different decade music great DJs so talented great drink specials awesome vibe! Place is hip clean and friendly. Gets crowded on weekends pure fun! Great table service reminds me of Vegas accept the prices are better haha. A++++ great heated Rooftop attended a couple of day parties also that were great!
The best of all decades from 80s to 2010. When you want to change a decade, you change a floor. Kept us there all night having a great time.
Went over the weekend with a few friends, super rude staff, drinks are overpriced for the area. Read the reviews and youll see how bad this place is. Music is great but for the 20 dollar cover and the amount to you spend on drinks (which isnt slot higher but every bar in the area is cheaper) dont go. Staff being rude is a reoccurring theme for a while, just read the reviews.
Got my wallet stolen. Shady place. Now I have to get a new license, credit cards, etc.
Unresponsive via email, phone, and messenger. Unreal how they want to respond to people’s issues via lost items.
Rude staff, steep cover for guys, and expensive watered down drinks.. now you know what to expect
Worst club i’ve ever been to. my girlfriend had a tip added to her card by the bartender when she left a CASH one, so she had to contact her bank and file a dispute. this place was the definition of ratchet, and the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. i don’t think they’ve ever been cleaned. DO NOT go here unless you want your stuff stolen and enjoy a dirty environment with sketchy staff members! if management tries to respond and deny ill post pictures with my proof.
Used to be a nice place. Now the staff are the worst possible. A lot of false advertising, hidden charges, and very aggressive security. This establishment is being run like a dictatorship with its own laws. One of the security guards grabbed my female friend inappropriately and said that he could do what he wanted and that he could kick out anyone he wanted to
Nice atmosphere and really nice music. You will find yourself dancing if you go there. They have multiple levels so that they can hold a lot of people.
Awesome party! Saturday nights a bit too busy so i love Friday’s more. Always a good time and awesome staff.
Easily the worst customer service in DC! My friend paid $80 in cover fees to get our group of four in the bar. After the first two of us walked in, the bouncers at the door and other workers started screaming at us to go up the stairs! We told them sorry but were waiting for the other two in our group (who were literally right behind us) to walk in so we dont get separated. The other two were still paying the other their cover charges. They kept screaming at us and said we were blocking the way, which we were definitely not. I told them they shouldnt have let us in yet if they werent going to let us walk in together. The bouncer aggressively grabbed me and said he was kicking me out. I demanded they give my friend her $80 back that she just paid a few seconds earlier otherwise I want to speak to the manager. He paused and thought frantically, then said he would let us continue to the bar upstairs, then proceeded to very aggressively slap my back and yelled have a good night very sarcastically.I also have a good friend who was recruited to bartend here once. They told her she could wear whatever she wanted because they wanted her to feel comfortable. Within an hour of her first shift she was sent texts from the manager telling her to wear something extremely revealing and fish net stockings. She told them she wasnt comfortable with that, and they proceeded to ridicule her and make her feel bad because they invested so much in her coming to work there that night. They have zero regard or respect for woman and its well known by majority of college kids in DC.I will never go back here and highly recommend anyone who doesnt like being treated this disrespectfully not go either.
The 90s floor is everything. hard to bear 90s RnB
Love dancing it up here!
Love the concept and the way each level is decorated to the Decade you are in. Flashback Fridays are so much fun! Amazing crowd as well. A must go to place in Washington DC
BEST NIGHTCLUB IN DC! Celebrated on the rooftop, Original venue that offers 4 eclectic floors, themed around different decades. Friendly staff, amazing DJs, and great table deals! I had an incredible time and cannot wait to come back with friends!
Just was at the 90s pub crawl hosted through Elite Bar Crawls. Service was nothing exceptional at this bar, bartender was quick and the dj was decent. However we went out for a cigarette and the bouncer refused to let us in because we had 2 drinks and we needed to sober up. Not only were we not rowdy, but the guy was letting people in that were obviously severely intoxicated. Im glad I closed my tab out before I was forced out of this miserable place. I will not be going back unless someone drugs me and carries my limp body into this excuse for a drinking establishment.
I came in from Baltimore attended Labor Day...Day Party. 3 flights of steps was an killer to get to the roof top. Free drink special...there should had been more bartenders. 1 bartender... no way she gotten to every1 to serve. Didnt stay long... 30mins I was headed back to B-More. I need to stick with my age group 40 an over.
I went this past weekend for my birthday and a friend helped me set up a table through one of the mangers there. When I arrived I was shown up to the table on the 3rd floor - and it was a really nice private room with 2 other tables. I give it 2 stars because I was a little frustrated with the people who worked there. I was told I could have unlimited guests come in (I had 15 max) but I got so many texts that my friends werent being let in and I had to go down and ask for them to be let in. In a club that is super packed, walking up and down the stairs to get people who should automatically get let in is not enjoyable. Theres a back staircase I think for table entry that I was initially escorted through, but the bouncer wouldnt let me bring my guests through after the fact and kept telling them they had to go around. Maybe they should initiate a wristband system to differentiate people? If I pay that much money for a section, I would like to be able to use the perks. Then, when trying to find my friends, one bouncer by the stairs told me there is another set of stairs and to go that way, but then the bouncer on the other side of the floor kept looking at me like I was stupid and pointing me back to the original stairs I came from saying those were the only ones, so I ended up running back and forth and felt like they were just toying with me. The worst was at the end, the girls who brought our drinks were generally okay except she tried to charge me for a more expensive bottle when I specifically pointed to and ask for a cheaper one then argued and said I should have known. Not my job. Overall it wasnt terrible and my friends had fun, but it was a slight nightmare trying to facilitate entry, deal with the bouncers, and adjusting my tab. For table service I would probably suggest somewhere else.
I went to Decades for the first time and the music was awesome and the bartenders make good drinks. Everyone was mad cool I would for sure recommend this spot especially if you want a diverse crowd and good music!!!
Security guard to the roof let’s his friends cut the entire line
Most overpriced experience - you DO NOT get what you pay for. We got bottle service only to be shoved up right against the dance floor and had to kick people out of our section all night. TWICE we had to take our bottles back from randoms who came in and tried to grab them. Management was useless and did nothing to recover our terrible experience. Also the DJ was trash and kept playing 80s and 2000s music on the 90s floor, cmon dude.
IF YOU ARE A WOMAN DO NOT GO HERE. If I could give this experience zero stars I would. This disgusting club allows men to not only harass women, but also manhandle and get extremely aggressive with them. The bouncers will also do the EXACT same to you repeadtly and are disgustingly disrespectful. We to decades and paid $80 I’m covers for 4 people to get in. Once we were inside my sister-in-law was attempting to make her way across the dance floor and a man aggressively told her “AT LEAST SAY EXCUSE ME” as she was trying to walk by him and his girlfriend. I turned to them and said, “hey calm down, it’s a crowded club and she didn’t mean to do anything” and then as they were saying really nasty things to me I turned around to walk away and the man pushed me really hard and pushed my sister in law. Which led to the beginnings of a fight with our boyfriends but immediately the bouncers grabbed us and kicked us out even though the other man got physicist with TWO WOMEN first. A different bouncer pulled us aside and said there’s nothing he can do about this and he’s kicking them out too but he NEVER kicked them out. Then I spoke to the bouncer downstairs and told them how disgusting it is that they let men physically harm women in their club and do NOTHING about it. I told them this is harassment and as an attorney I will file against the club for not handling the situation. Then they freaked out and let us back in again, but they didn’t communicate that to the bouncer at the top of the stairs so as soon as we got to the top the bouncer grabbed my brother in law extremely aggressively and pushed him towards the stairs telling us to get out. We have never been treated with such vile behavior in our lives. We were all about one drink in and sober and they treated us like absolute trash.I’m filing charges against the club for their disgusting behavior and their treatment (harassment, manhandling, and abuse) of women. If anyone else has been victimized by this club in ANY way, please feel free to reach out to me so that I can help you file charges against this disgusting establishment.
Awesome place to go for a birthday party or even just a night out in the city!! By far my favorite club to go to in DC with great bottle service and friendly staff. Rooftop table is a must with great views and good music.
Super fun! Love the retro 90s floor. Great dance beats and fantastic service from the bar and table service.
This place is the best on Saturdays. Great crowd. Very popular, so make sure to get there early.
Said my girlfriend was too drunk when she was clearly more sober than anybody that walked in that entire night. The bouncers are awful the bar is expensive and the bathroom is dirty; saw a dead rat in the toilet. Avoid.
Thank you for letting my four female friends in and then informing me $20 cover for guys once they are inside. Classy.
I havent had the opportunity to go to Decades DC, but will never step foot into the place given their unethical and deceptive business practices regarding their Y2K19 NEW YEARS EVE RETRO GALA. I bought tickets for the event online using Eventbrite, but later had to request a refund because I no longer had the ability to attend the event. The site explained that the event organizer would accept refunds. The refund request was made more than 24 hours prior to the event. My request to have my money refunded was denied because Decades claims I chose not to attend, clearly taking my words out of context as way to keep my money for themselves. I understand the business aspect of needing to make a profit, but clearly the company takes profit over people, and will take financial advantage of you. Why offer the option for a refund if you are going to blatantly ignore a customer’s use of it? Don’t offer the option if you have no intention to follow-through. This company is clearly comfortable using unethical, deceptive, and unacceptable business practices that run contrary to the notion of consumer protection. Id be concerned how they would try to take advantage of a customer once theyre in the bar, plus, given some of the other reviews, this doesnt sound like the type of establishment Id want to go near.
Watch out no entry and they charge you a cover. Super rude security (we went out for a cigarette and didnt let us back in?) Legít trash, dont go
$20 cover for men only when there are other clubs just as good nearby that dont do that.
Worst experience I have ever had in a VIP booth. We were warned that we would only be allowed to have 10 people in the booth - good thing we only had 5 because we barely had room to stand. The two surrounding booths had about 50 people, all of which were invading our space, grabbing waters and bottles off of our booth, and constantly shoving us and trying to antagonize a fight. Four different bouncers had to tell their group to leave us alone. The problems continued all night, with not one person getting kicked out, even when a guy got into a girls face and shoved her. BEWARE of paying a ridiculous amount for a booth and bottle at this place.Music was great at least haha
Good time. Over crowed on roof & 3rd foor. Alcohol is high.. and the price changes for bartender to bartender... roof charged $7 for 12oz bud light while lower floor only charged $6. Liquor drinks averaged $10-$14 a piece. The place only get 3 stars.. music was good, service was decent, but the $20 cover charge at 10 oclock is outrageous
I want to decades twice and I enjoyed myself and I am coming here for my bday next month and I want it to be lit
Great and unique place with a little bit of something for everyone. They got 4 different themed levels, and its so good to hear some retro music since the music in all night clubs is pretty much the same.Definitely will be back!
Good music good vibes and epic atmosphere
$14 for weak rail drinks. Total ripoff
This happened on New Year’s Eve The so called owner tried to kick us out for the sofa where it doesn’t said it’s reserved and he called the security on us as well for no reason. The security was so rude, when He sees us we were just a regular 2guys, he thought we don’t afford it. I hate loosing just to make my self happy and to show him am not cheap I bought the pricey champagne. I was abt to start my night after long day at work but they ruined it.Am not recommending this place to anyone.
Kamal was awesome helping set up table reservations for my group!
FRIDAY I was able to purchase complimentary tics for Labor Day Monday cookout and day party through eventbrite for Decades. When I arrived At 520pm on Monday, the bouncer guy/front door men did honor tic because he said tic expired at 5pm. When I reviewed the tic, there were no time limit or expiration on tic or eventbrite. False advertisement. Any good establishment would honor the tic, due to the fact it did not have a time limit on the tic. That not my fault, but your advertisement committee. This tells me you lured patrons through false advertisement to come to the club, and once we got there you charged. Thats really bad you have to con people to get them to come to your club. Whether it is the club owner or promoter, Bad Business !!
I decided to have my birthday party here. Everything was smooth while booking my VIP table. The issues came about when we arrived. The gentleman I was emailing about my table booked us on the wrong floor. The guy at the door was nice enough to throw in a complimentary bottle for the inconvenience.Once we ordered our complimentary bottle the waiter (male) first tried to charge us for it and didnt believe it was complimentary. He made my sister go talk to the guy downstairs instead of doing it himself(bad customer service). The guy downstairs said to tell him to check again as he had updated it in the system. problem solved right? wrong !At the end we were brought our check by the waitress (female) who also tried to charge us for this complimentary bottle. After A battle with her we finally got it sorted again. No more problems right? wrong again. After leaving we realize a friend who had all of our debit cards/ I.Ds in her wallet lost her wallet. These guys had no sense of urgency in trying to help us find them and days later they call to tell us they found the wallet but we could not come get it because after finding it they lost it again! what???Oh also they included about $130 more in charges than was discussed via email. Extra charges were for Gratuity which im fine with but every other club lets you know gratuity is included PRIOR to booking! dont get me wrong its a very fun club just beware.
With no specific expectations or goals for the night, I hop out of my lift ride and look over and see Decades. My initial experience was whatever, it seemed like a regular bar/club. Before showing up my buddy told me that it was it had four floors and a roof making it 5 floors. When I went to approach the door I got this strange feeling that only occurs in the films. That feeling when you sense somethimg behind a door and when you open the doors and walk in, the atmosphere changes completely. It went from that basic club entrance that we have all done to basically teleporting to a classy retro environment. It was a very relaxing experience. It was hot outside but this place was by far cool and comforting on the outsiders. The service was also phenominal, there were more than enough bouncers to control the crowd and to make sure everything was under control and not too packed and moving smoothly. The coolest part of this place was how it had multiple floors and each floor was like a different bar/club itself. Each floor had their own dj and music genre. Each person there including myself had a place somewhere inside decades to enjoy themselves without any worries. Another cool part that I noticed was that there was food, free food, I repeat! Free food on the first floor! This was important because after dancing for an hour with friends I got tired and hungry and going down to the first floor was the perfect laid back relaxed experience that I needed. I never that thought this place would be so amazing. Each floor being a different decade with the first retro room to roof being that modern music we all love. This place is a gem with little things here and there that make the icing on the cake such as, hookah on the roof and a projector over the roof. No review can fully explain this place you just have to go to see it. Seriously this place is amazing by far best bar/club I have been to. I do not know if I am a likeable guy or what, but all the workers there were extremely nice and respectful. Even the manager treated me with repsect and kindness. Most places I go to the bouncers are jerks and bartenders dont care much about the customer much, they are there to just do their job. However everyone at decades wanted you to have fun and feel comfortable. By far one of the funnest nights only flaw I saw was I could only find one toilet there. Maybe I didnt look in the right places but i guess who really goes number two on their nights out, I rarely do lol. Take my review to heart I have never done a review before, this is my first review because decades was that good and I am a harsh critic so these words have meaning.
Terrible experience, not worth the money. DO NOT GET A TABLE HERE!! ROOFIED, THINGS ADDED TO MY TAB, NOT PRIVATE, TERRIBLE SERVICE.For my birthday I purchased a table on their top level, only to have a table that was not separated and therefore random people kept coming into our section we paid for. People poured our alcohol, sat in our seating and none of the staff assisted. One random set of guys came over and winded up not only helping themselves, but also roofied 2 of us AND ordered a bottle on my tab!!!Management pretended to care for a day and never got back to me. I winded up paying over $700 for a table that was not roped off, not monitored, and to be drugged and have an awful birthday. Its unfortunate because the music and vibe was good otherwise. Just not worth the money, or the terrible experience.
If you are a woman or care about women in general, never go here. If you decide to do so, cover yourself completely unless you want your breasts exposed to the entire bar in order to use the restroom...
Employees are extremely disrespectful! My first time going to this nightclub this past weekend with my co-workers and we overheard a manager call one of the waitresses stupid. Quite frankly thats very disrespectful and disgusting that a manager treats their employees that way. I enjoyed my time there but dont agree with how that manager referred to his employee. Very unethical.
Went out for my best friends birthday and had a blast! It was a Wednesday night and only the patio was open. Lost a star because of all the stairs we had to take to get to the top (not heel friendly) but once we got up there it was lit!!! Crowd went crazy when Bodak Yellow came on and themusic was good all night. One of her friends had a table but its like not roped off from the dance floor so I could see it getting annoying if random people keep flooding your table. All in all it was an awesome night and we will be back!
One of my favorite clubs to go in DC. Great mix of music between the 4 floors. The security is diligent and good at weeding out the trouble makers, making it more enjoyable for everyone else Staff is real friendly. Never felt like Im ignored when ordering drinks. Definitely a go to spot for me.
It’s a very unhealthy atmosphere, ppl smoking drugs in the middle of the place, not hookah POT, and with some kind of scheme at the bathroom doors where the same guys keep going back in ..aloud by security who act very rude if you trying to use the bathroom.. go figure :/
