During this pandemic time, Flash has turn its rooftop space to a sit down place for Electronic music lover. Reservation is required for seats with 90 mins time limited. Same regulation of wearing mask, remain seated etc. are applied.Sandwiches menu are added along with drink menu. It seems like drinks were customized for fall season, we tried all the cocktails on the menu but only 2 we like( don’t remember the name.) It was ok, we were happy to help support the place and at the end of the night, we ordered our favorite drinks out of menu instead.The staff are super nice and attentive, ask them question regarding to the venue if you want to know more. The merchandise downstairs is for purchase helping support the place. Ask staff for the website or if you have problem access it like I did, they accept cash.They said they might open for brunch with live DJ on set. If we all keep supporting this business, I’m sure we will get to have one of the coolest brunch place in DC soon.Review as of 09/2020

Not so fun right now due to covid. I went with a friend on a cold, rainy Thursday night. Only the rooftop bar is open with socially distanced tables. Got the autumn cocktail which was too sweet. Roof top was open to the elements so it was chilly

I LOVE Flash. Specifically Flashy Sunday’s for the LGBT crowd. The venue is kept clean, the staff are generally friendly (although a little mean sometimes), and accepting of everyone. The biggest improvement needed is coat/clothes check which they have been getting more creative with lately. Just need to speed things up a bit!

I had the whole bar to myself. Drinks came out fast and service was reliable. Show support to flash instead of EL RAY

What a Great venue! They play House Music here. It has 3 floors, DJ on all floors. Bartenders are super friendly and fast. The bouncers too are respectful and friendly. Come out with a group of friends or by yourself, youll love it and have fun!

Love this venue. Love the function one sound system and just how much detail they put into the sound, acoustics, and decor. Such a well made club, and they are always bringing in crazy good talent from all over the world on all different nights of the week which is great for the night owls. My ONLY complaint about this club which isn’t exactly on them but still notable is that it is quite common especially on Friday’s to run into drunk entitled stumblers that have no manners, and could probably use a swift drop kick or a thorough class on etiquette. Nevertheless a great club and I love it.

We went to an early morning even here. It was a great space with really cool and unique features. The top floor has a great view and an earthy atmosphere. Incredible lighting on the second floor and a good bar feel on the bottom floor.

Immersive and powerful sound, especially with Sasha on the wheels of steel! Fair drink prices and prompt wait staff. And the lighting is entrancing.

Love Flash, only place in DC to get a Euro style Techno party. Good booking, international DJ. 3 Floors, polite bouncers, great bar staff. First floor is free and hosted before Virtual Reality Arcade which was amazing.If you can go, I wish I could go more often.

I had a horrible experience at Flash in DC today. The worker there clearly was very discriminatory and racist. The experience was very horrible and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. If you’re trying to have a good night eitherways, avoid this place at all costs!Edit: In response the owners comment below:1. You might want to check your yelp reviews, because I am not the first person bringing this issue up.2. We were misled about how long it was going to be open before we paid covers and the only person he spoke and acknowledged was my white friend and only returned her cover. He disregarded us and was rude to me and the rest of my friends when we were justifiedly upset. We all knew what was going on and there is no excuse for that.

Every floor has music or live performance. Every floor has a bar. Ground floor does not have an entrance fee, but to get to the Main Room and subsequently the Green Room (Rooftop) there is a fee, but it is well worth it. Overall the atmosphere is tremendous!

I got denied entry last night on Pride (June 8) because I was wearing sandals (as pictured). Never been a problem any other club Ive been to. I took my dancing sandals and my cash to U Street Music Hall instead and had a great time.

This is my favorite venue in town. Great house music with expertly curated underground house DJs from across the world and local DJs that are the technical best in the area. If you’re looking for a good vibe and great tunes, this is the spot.

I love this place!!!! The main floor has an incredible sound system with lighting and ambiance reminiscent of Ministry of Sound in London. Although much smaller than MoS, the vibes are spot on to many European clubs. This place is a true gem. Be sure to abide by their no phones/flash policy and get lost in the music. They typically host techno and house DJs but occasionally explore other genres. If you’re particular about music then check the events calendar before you go.

The way Flash runs their events is horrible. Their customer service is horrible. The only people who were the least amount respectable are the security guards. The security guards did the best that they could given the circumstance. The woman at the box office was completely unhelpful and rude. The way she spoke to me was disrespectful and I could not even interact her anymore because of her attitude. Even if we are unable to attend the event we are still patrons at the venue. The bar tender at the main lobby bar was almost a robot. We went to support our friend who put us on his guest list and we were later informed, after his set, that the guest list was until 5:30PM, in which no one informed him. We arrived shortly after 5:30PM and were informed that they only allow up to 4 people on the guest list after 5:30PM and if the guest list is longer THEY randomly select who is on the list. Flash literally turned business away and did so in the most unappreciative way possible. The event was sold out but my friend went to the roof top and said there was plenty of space. I do not see myself returning to Flash UNLESS my friend performs again. Management really needs to get things in order, especially for a smaller club attracting headliners. Artists who find out how their fans are treated would be severely disappointed.

I was here last night for the first time. Entry is $20 and drinks are like $12 each (had vodka) I had 3, but felt like I needed 2 more to get to my tipsy level that I like because they dont put enough. Bartenders were friendly and fast. Atmosphere is great, I liked the 3 level setting. Lighting was alright, could be better. I thought they would have different music for the fact that there were 3 djs. I was there for like 2.5 hours and it felt like they play the same song all the time or at least same beat in all 3 floors. I think that you should take advantage of having 3 levels by playing 3 complete different music styles, and not stick just to techno because it gets so boring sorry. If I hadnt got bored of the music, I might have taken those 2 more drinks and stayed until closed. My husband and I were somewhat disappointed, maybe we had really high expectations after reading a bunch of great reviews.

FlashDC is a cool club. I love the sound system. The sound is clean and the bass is deep.

Small, intimate venue with well known and not so well known djs. Ive been to outdoor and indoor shows and both were a blast. I love coming here.

WOW I had great time chillin here, man took me back to my college days when I was involved in Elemental Baraka, awesome trance and jungle music.

Employees were nice, drinks are reasonably priced for DC, music is great, and the rooftop is amazing! Sound system is also amazing and it doesn’t get sweaty and overcrowded like most places. No complaints here!

I consider Flash to be the only purist House and Techno club in the DC area. Moreover, they are community centric. They hold regular events for local DJs and their Sunday rooftop parties are one of a kind.

Used to be my fav spot, but recently (last 1 year or so) that has changed. I have gotten denied re-entry multiple times by the owner or the bouncers when I had tickets purchased, and re-entry was allowed. They usually give some sort of “no more guest tonight” and you end up pleading with them to let you back in to dance to some music. While you can still find good music here, the bouncers have gotten a bit meaner, and the crowds a bit smaller. 2/5.Edit 12/2019: seems like they’ve eased on the re-entry/security issues. Have had a good time last several times I’ve been.

Flash is hit or miss. The last two times I went it was a miss. Bad service. No vibes. It looks cool but it aint worth a cover. Sad. This place used to crank.

Flash was amazing! Like many reviews say, the sound and light system is awesome. Contrary to what some reviews say, the club actually had a nice smell and the temperature felt good. The staff was courteous and were working hard to keep the club clean. I came from out of town to see the headliner, and needless to say he was awesome, but the djs before him and on the rooftop were also great. I really enjoyed the intimacy of the smaller room of the main club. Even with a full dance floor, I was able dance comfortably and make my way to the bathroom. I had a blast at Flash and will certainly be back!

Good club, but Last time I went I was the DD in a group of five, and was the only one sober in the group. The bouncer denied me entry because i was deemed too “intoxicated”. So we decided to go to another club.

Unbelievable soundsystem, like standing inside a pair of high-end headphones. Lights are subtle and well orchestrated to complement the music and energy rather than overwhelm. I would go just to sit and listen to the music if the artists they booked didnt make it impossible not to dance. They even booked Stimming from Germany, who I never thought Id see in the US!

Ive been here many times for different parties. They have a few levels and each of them have different music going. They also have an outside area on the top level thats awesome. I always have a great time going to Flash!

The sound system alone is worth it to go to this place, rooftop lounge with Afro style house when we went, and mid floor with bass thatll quake you to your innards. Minimal visuals to.keep you entertained throughout the night.

Horrible bartenders, $19 for 2 drinks with no alcohol, basically nothing. $19 for just pop/juice. Cover charge was ridiculous for shows that were absolutely pathetic! Don’t pay the cover, you’ll be disappointed for sure!

Great multi-level club! Amazing sound system for DJs to spin on the 2nd floor. Dancefloor can get packed easily, though, so be prepared to sweat. Top floor opens up to the sky & provides for some fresh air & a little rest from dancing.

Flash is an amazing nightclub and a staple of the DC scene. Great Soundsystem when their sound guy shows up. The signature flash bulbs behind the DJ both can be a bit much when they are going off, but the intelligent LED lighting around the club make up for it, and when it all becomes too much you can escape upstairs to their convertible roof patio. Overall great experiences, 1 star off for the oppressive flash bulbs that unfortunately are the namesake of the club.

Great vibe and crowd. This bar/club is a little tucked away in Shaw, but worth checking out. The bar poured strong drinks and the DJ (especially Alberto) kept the crowd moving. Nice outdoor section to sneak out to when things warm up. The upstairs is supposed to be more of a dance floor, but we stayed on the ground level.

Flash is amazing club, however the women in the first floor that take the money is absolutely disrespectful and I am sure a lot of people stopped coming to this place because of her attitude .

This place is for those that want to be in the moment and dance in a judgement free atmosphere. Flash is a unlike any other club in DC, the light show you get is worth a trip. The DJs they feature play bomb houE music and when we go to dance we leave sweaty. I go here anytime I want to cut a rug and not be mothered by creepy men. I went for my birthday one time and we all wore wigs and crazy outfits and it felt like the perfect atmosphere. This is not top 40 rap music. We dance all night long here and leave around 4am.

The best spot in DC to hear proper House music on not just one but two Function 1 sound systems. 3 levels, 3 bars, coat check, open air rooftop & specialty hand crafted cocktails. The Moscow Mule is fantastic with their home made ginger syrup & fresh lime juice.

This is hands down the best music venue in all of DC. It has the best sound system (Funktion One speakers) in the city, is the most diverse and inviting of places (people of all types can feel very welcome here), brings the best international electronic music artists on a consistent basis, has a retractable rooftop that is a game changer during warmer weather (especially for Sunday day parties), and is just overall a great time every time Ive been there

Multi-level and airy outdoor area with incredible visual and audio effects, great indoor and outdoor table service, BUT, a cramped dance floor indoors and limited bathroom toilet access is the reason for the less than 5-star classification.

I routinely drive over 2 hours to Flash throughout the year. Mainly because they have the highest quality sound system in the northeast by a mile.The fact that they struggle to compete with the bigger northeast clubs in attracting the big names actually works in Flashs favor at times since this results in big names playing small intimate shows on certain Thursday or Wednesday nights.Special mention for the staff as well. Its so refreshing to see an electronic music club without the pretentiousness you normally find in most upscale clubs.

The atmosphere was fine but the bartenders pretended that my debit card was not going through and once my friend paid to cover me, I looked at my bank account and they charged both my friend and I for my tab when they said my card wouldnt go through and I never signed a receipt. If you decide to go to this bar, do not open a tab because the bartenders will definitely try and scam you. I will not be going back anytime soon!

Place use to be grungy with a good sound system. Now great music and good looking people. Its come a long way since it first opened, yet still true to its original purpose.

Intimate, chic-style club, with full service bar, and 3 levels, main attraction is House music. A good mix of artists, and very chill vibe, you can dress up here or dress down. One of the best sound systems around, bring ear protection to continue your enjoyment of awesome music!

1st level is super chill and music is pretty awsome. The thrid level has a rooftop which is also dope. Always a good time at Flash

I arrived at Flash at 1:45am on Thursday after searching Google for bars open for after hours. It was stated they closed at 3am, which would mean last call is at 2:30am. When I arrived the bouncer/i.d. checker guy informed me that they already had last call and were closing. When informed of this I was so disappointed, I heard so many great things about Flash, number one being how they accommodated their customers. Needless to say in my situation, this wasnt the case.If you can correct your hours of operation, it would be appreciated. I wasted money on a Uber and it ended my night.I look forward to enjoying your establishment and experiencing the positive reviews.

One of the best venues in DC. Always amazing music. Three levels of awesomeness.Main floor is the magic. Flash and light system is amazing. I highly recommend this place. Especially on Wednesdays
