The toilet is SO tiny which is why I took a star off but other than that I enjoyed it. The popcorn was good, the seats were comfortable and if you get there a little early you can beat the crowds before the beginning of a show.
It was a nice experience the staff was helpful but they didnt know anything about the the event each one of the employees that I just work up front I work for miracle and I dont know whats going on here, my suggestion would be that you let the staff know what the event is that 300 people are coming to see I find it odd that nobody had any answers none of the front of the house staff knew what was going on they knew how much popcorn cost they were able to sell me wine but they did not have any information on the events.
Great, cozy place to see a small musical act. Good selection of refreshments as well.
I go here for church (National Community Church) I. Sat @5pm or Sun @10:30 or 12pm services. Clean theater and they show movies that are current and recent. Come and try out both!!! The church owns the building. Great location along Barracks Row. Plus, this is my. Neighborhood area. Lived in DC all my life! Lived in this area for 16 years.
What a special night at The Miracle Theater at The MOTH. The seating and acoustics were excellent.
We were here for the monthly Story Slam with the Moth. The theater is a refab meeting place, this time with adequate air conditioning. Good sound system,Tix bought ahead of time online, friendly hipster staff. Great community center for movies, shows, and spoken word.
* arrive early for good seats. * No coat check and seats are cramped, so dont bring your big jackets. * For the same reason, cut back on your fluid intake before (and perhaps during) the show so as to minimize trips to the bathroom :) * They had a couple of good beers and some wine for the live music show I was there for. * Just theater snacks * not a lot of space in the lobby for merch desk, so if you intend to buy/get autographs, line up quick
Saw David Wilcox here a while back -- my first visit to the Miracle Theatre. I loved the venue--but then, Im a lover of all things vintage and restored, saved, etc. This is definitely an old-school theater--the vibe reminds me of the Greenbelt Theatre in Old Greenbelt. But Greenbelt was completely renovated, while this theatre seems to be cleaned up, and mostly original. Someone else mentioned that the seats arent the most comfortable. Yeah, theyre not the recliners were all getting spoiled by in todays theatres, but hell--most Americans have enough padding back there (yours truly included) to make it bearable. If youre short, you might want to get there early to make sure get a seat up front and dont sit behind some giant or giantess. But what a cool, intimate, wonderful place to see live music! Im hoping theyll bring more singer-songwriters, Americana, blues, jazz (please, jazz?) there in the future. Dont know if Id go out there for a movie (Capitol Hill is a haul from Laurel), but Ill definitely be back for more live music. P.S. Dont know what the original name of the theater was, but I just love Miracle Theatre. Makes me think of a Frank Capra movie...
I saw Kurtis Connor here and it was a very beautiful venue
I like this old fashioned movir theater. I like the simplicity and the family vibe. Very clean and friendly staff.
Beautiful theater, looks like it was preserved or restored from the mid-20th century. Good prices for snacks, friendly staff. Theater has two levels. Parking is difficult in the area.
Get venue for a podcast live show
A very nice place. The sound for live shows is excellent. The band Luther Relives was outstanding. If you get a chance to catch this band you must do so.
Fantastically authentic old style theatre with original chairs (maybe not comfortable for a three by movie!) With small reception area serving popcorn snacks and soft drinks.
Gorgeous old theater!
Harold Bell event on Muhammad Ali was fantastic and this venue, The Miracle Theater, excellent location
The Miracle Theatre is a great movie theatre, and shows films that have already stopped playing at most other theatres. I watched Beauty and the Beast here and was impressed. It also hosts church services on Sunday mornings and on Saturday nights, they are definitely worth checking out as well!
Cute 1950 themed second run theater. Great prices and great movies.
Attended the NCC service here. Their worship was amazing. Going back again.
Charming. Reasonably priced concessions, but the popcorn isnt great. Saw the Capitol Hill Film Festival here. The vintage seats start getting really uncomfortable after awhile. But the atmosphere and location is cool.
I like it I visit only once but the presentation was great. Really enjoy plus they serve Donuts and coffee.
Great shows, good price, great place to get away.ALSO home of National Community Churchs Barracks Row. Awesome contemporary, Pentecostal worship and sermons Saturday nights and Sunday mornings. Must-see!
Wonderful spot.
Great theater and local talent!
Love that they show older movies. It fits with the theme of the theater which has vintage seats. Great location and reasonable prices...especially for the vintage movies they show.
Nice size. Easy parking and entry. Decent beer and wine.
This place is wonderful Been there several times the staff is genuinely friendly
We went this place it was NO POPCORN,ITS NASTY and people standing around talking. The seats was NASTY! U come from out of to go to this place it was a DISAPPOINTMENT.!
I Went with my kids and had very good time. Perfect atmosphere.
Great venue for the Nosleep Podcast event! I hope they do it here again!
I love the vintage aesthetic of the theatre and the history behind it but their sound system needs work and it may have only happened when I was there but we bought popcorn and something about the butter was way way off. It tasted like burnt cardboard.
Fantastic cost friendly retro movie theater to take in a second run flic on Capitol Hill. Super friendly movie staff adds to the great experience. Afterwards take a stroll down Barracks Row or grab a drink and/or dinner at any if the many bars and restaurants on 8th street. The Miracle theater is just that, a miracle on 8th street.
A neat place to go. Not the most up to date or modern, but that was part of the charm.
Best movie theatre Ive been to. We were greeted by extremely friendly staff. Old-school feel with 40s intro to DC before the movie.
The theater is beautiful and although the seats might be uncomfortable by current standards, I loved the well-curated authenticity of a beautiful old theater. The only downside of our visit was the concession stand, which I understand isnt the point of a place like this, but could be run a little more efficiently on a very busy night.
Very quaint theater. Plays both movies and is an event venue for concerts/acts. Can buy popcorn, snacks and beverages here as well for the show
I was so excited to find out this movie theater exists so close. I do not like going to Gallery Place to see movies. It is too crowded and noisy there. This theater is small and quiet. I think it only has two screens total but I could be wrong here.It perfectly compliments the neighborhoods atmosphere and seems beneficial to all the local restaurants here as going to the theater kept me around longer to eat and drink locally and hopefully does the same for the majority of customers.I will be a frequent customer.
This place isnt the newest or the fanciest but it has a great atmosphere and you cant beat the price of the tickets.
I love the venue. That womens bathroom situation @ intermission is treacherous!
Very cozy second run theater! I recommend sitting in the front section, like row 5 to 8, since the screen is not as large as modem theaters.
Beautiful movie theater but was lacking AC when we went
Cute and fun little theater that makes for a different movie experience in DC. However the seats are small and uncomfortable.
Beautiful classic cinema. Great place for second run films. Also home to National Community Church.
Cool aesthetic and unique movie selection. Went for a documentary screening, and will definitely come back for another film!
Ok, small and easily assessible with independent films. Concession stand sucked though as nothing was ready and we missed some of the film due to waiting for them.
The venue felt very awkward for live music, was not well converted from being a movie theater, the seats are made to see a high screen and the people in the back have a hard time seeing people on the ground in the front. The acoustics were also not great, not sure if because of the space entirely, but there was an electronic whine for the whole show and the performers were visibly annoyed.
Sunday morning services has a great inspiration within the soul, the word that is taught is a great inspiration to be filling.
The Miracle makes a wonderful frame for intimate shows like The Moth Story Slam.
Great Worship and solid Bible teaching. Pastor Heather nailed it. Gods colossal grace is big enough to cover my colossal brokenness.
Love my National Community church service at 12 noon on Sundays.
Best church...awesome prayer and worship services. Mark is the best.
I LOVE Miracle Theatre & NCC. Social Entrepreneurship at its best!
Great place, great atmosphere!
Fldo this joint 2 flip ur script + get off ur beaten path....
Quaint historic theater with second run movies for reasonable prices.
It would be perfect if they showed movies during the week
I love the Miracle Theatre! Not only is it home to my church, but is a great community theater.
