Fairly new so the trees are still young and need time to mature. Easy parking, a beautiful trestle bridge overlooking the wetlands, lots of open fields for flying kites, and numerous paths for walking, biking, or rollerblading. The pavilion is for rent which can be annoying but it is far enough away to not interfere with any outdoor activities on the trails.TIP: Mid-June the wildflowers are in full bloom

Great paved multiuse trails only 15 min from downtown GR. 18 miles of trails in total and being the largest urban Park in West Michigan gives plenty of opportunities to explore.

Beautiful spot to walk and watch birds and wildlife without cars crossing trails (as they do on the rail trails). Great paved trails for biking and walking. Trails connect fromJohn Ball zoo area down to Johnson park. Nice picnic areas. A hidden gem!

This is a beautiful park and Im envious being that Im from the east side of the state. As much as I am pure Michigan kinda guy it kills me to say that compared to a lot of other states it seems to me Michigan falls short of the care, maintenance and atmosphere you find elsewhere. Slowly Im starting to notice a change in all that with the new additions of parks or the renovations of existing parks with the west side of the state leading the way which I hate saying but its true. Awesome park and I hope the locals here appreciate and take care of this wonderful place.

This is a great place to take the kids during the summer. They have a splash pad and swimming area and the rates are very reasonable. You can also rent a canoe, kayak, standup paddleboard, rowboat, or paddle boat. There are also paved trails throughout the park which are great for walking and exploring nature.

I think this is a good parking place for someone who is just looking to hit the trails. You can access the whole park and it seems less busy further away from the playgrounds and water access.
