Beautiful spot just off the highway before the Green World Coffee Farm and the Dole Plantation. Its a little bit hard to find if you are driving, its not well marked by signs, just a gate at a T intersection. There is no official parking lot to access, but you can park on the side of the road on the southbound side near the gate to the entrance. Be careful not to park in front of the gate, it is prohibited. The stones are about a five minute walk from the front gate. There is no staff or any real barriers to entry, you can just walk in.Went just before sunset when there were only a few other people here. Very peaceful and well preserved spot, if you know the history of it, it feels like a special area where important events happened. You probably need between 15-20 minutes if you walk around the whole area and take pictures.
Different...I grew up in Wahiawa- and was always able to go walk around here- we havent been back to look in years- now u cant walk around amongst the stones. I got scolded by a guy that was weed wacking- told us that u cannot enter- then of course I see that there was a sign by the ground- whoops! It looks great!!-WAY Better than before- but It was weird to be scolded. He asked if we were locals or just tourists- lol. That was odd too.so I FINALLY got to show my OHA Registered Hawaiian Card! Lol...Didnt get me in tho. Lol. So sad! Hawaiian denied entry- even tho I grew up being able to walk around in there -even sat on the stones- I understand tho- gotta protect the Land-
Very spiritual place. The mountains add so much to this place. Nice to see the State has seen fit to care for this precious place.
We were trying to come see this but the road was shut off to traffic. Hopefully will be able to visit again and see. Moved the deep red colors of the rocks and ground here.
A very holy place. A sacred spot to contemplate life, pray and meditate. I understand why but access to the stones has now been denied to the public, like Stonehenge.
My wife loves this place. We visit here regularly
Small site that holds lots of cultural history. Parking is limited to along the side of the road. No information panels to read at the site. Easy to find. Be sure to respect the sacredness of the site and stay out/off the rocks.
Beautiful place and serene. Parking can be tricky. Need to find safe and legal parking along the road. But it worth it.
An amazing place, there is a feeling of serenity here. Well landscaped, 2 minute walk from the highway. We spent about 20 minutes here in total, but it was time well spent.
Beautiful spot. Simple place with deep meaning. Worth a stop and a moment of reflection.
Beautiful, serene, and sacred.....Gorgeous skies and a lush, tropical setting make for the perfect birthing place....incredible!
No ohana Ke akua ika na hele...The start of an ancient Hawaiian Healing Chant. My wife was pregnant with my son JonMicah she was past due., I tried everything, Sx..oh i mean We tried everything... S-x.. Walking... S_X... i even had her go to couch upstairs, nah just joking! Okay so we went to the sacred area, she Rock we had lunch and then the next day my son was born really easy but not even like a minute in labor. Fo real Kine.
Lots of mud, rain, bugs. Mosquitos are nuts! Definitely not a stop to add to your vacation.
Awesome place of Mana and Healing for all Peoples, Nations, Kindreds, Tongues and Cultures.
Wonderful history, be sure to look up prior. Parking is on the side of the highway but still accessible
Not very acessible no parking. Beautiful strong place. Lots of petroglyphs
Beautiful place and very interesting. Read up on it before you go because it has great history but nothing there to tell you. The parking is difficult because you have to park in the grass on the side of the road. Make sure you pull completely off the road. You cant see the site from the road but go through the gate and walk down the beautiful red dirt, wide, flat path about 50 yards and you will see the cluster of trees and lines of rock. The Birthing Stones are in the trees. Be careful if it is raining or has rained. The red dirt sticks to your shoes like tar and stains clothes terribly. It also gets a little slippery when wet. Well worth going to.
A peaceful stop park on sode of street and wall in !
This place is one of the most surreal I have visited on Oahu. I am very happy it has been preserved and landscaped by caring people.
Best kept secret on Oahu. My wife is a Certified Nurse Midwife, she loved the visit. The history behind them was equally amazing.
Amazing view, but hot, dusty, or muddy, walk.
Its very beautiful, you can really feel the mana there. Its a must see if your out in central area.
A really gorgeous and peaceful area with the reddest soil I have ever seen. The trees and grasses add to the beauty of the area.
A little creepy history but its unique to feel that ceremonial aspect of life long ago.
I really enjoyed this monument. The state government hasnt taken very good care of it but its a nice stop if youre driving around and seeing the sights.
Respect the Culture of Hawaii. Be considerate of this sacred place.
Short walk on red earth to see an important spot in the history of Oahu. Interesting, quiet place to see off the beaten tourist track. Download the brochure from the parks site for the background.
Very Nice Place!!! Worth exploring!!!
Pretty cool to learn about the history. Be respectful to the area.
We visited in 2002. Nice quiet place. If the historical info is accurate, it is thought-provoking.A word of caution-- the entrance is sloped, and paved only for a short distance. The remainder of the road is red clay. There was a small passing shower while we were at the site (this IS Hawaii), and the clay became very slick and we got stuck trying to get up the sloped entrance to the traffic light. If it wasnt for some locals helping push our vehicle out of the mud, and some good timing to hit the traffic light when it was green, we might still be there.....If the locals that helped us read this, I wish to publicly thank them for their Hawaiin Spirit.
Nothing more than the stones... If you are on your way north, worth stopping, otherwise dont.No amenities here.
Parking is bad. No parking only off kamehameha Hwy. Very clean but no restrooms. Take a local tour guide or read up before going.
The site was unavailable to visitors.
Park near the closed gate. Its not Stonehenge, but an important piece of Hawaiian heritage.
Make sure to read up on the significance on the stones otherwise youre just going to be like yo, these are just some rocks.
Interesting place to visit
The mana there was amazing
Very historical place.
Small park, with big big mana.
